Samsung SGH-D807 / D806

for verizon? something besides that stupid kyocera phone?.... or does anyone know if they plan on releasing one soon?

I was wondering what acessories come with this phone? Also how is this compared to the SE w600 which i currently own. And can you use mp3's as ring tones? How about the camera Qualitly? Sorry for all the questions but i want to make sure this phone is worth getting !

Does anyone know if this phone supports A2DP? I really want some bluetooth headphones but rather not spend all that money to be dissapointed, is there any posibiliy samsung will release a firmware update to allow it?

Hello everyone I have just registered and will be recieving ny SGH D807 very soon and I have a couple questions.

1. Can I hook the phone into my computer?
2. If so, what things can I do with it then?
3. Will a 1 gig Sandisk Micro card work in this phone? (I have seen people say it will but i'm not entirely sure if I was reading about the right phones. Does any one HAVE a D807 with a working gig card so I can be sure?)
4. If so, I have read that people are using these cards to transport pictures and movies to and from their phone. So if I buy a card, does this replace the need for a data cable? (Because I believe it cost 25 cents per picture sent to an email adress by the phone)(Through cingular anyways :{ )

I just got this phone and love it! Does anyone know of a detachable belt clip or case with belt clip that fits this phone well??

I am an amateur and want to know is it difficult to save clips or short films to the memory card and play them on the phone. Is their a particular format? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

This is the first time I own a Samsung phone and I have been having problems with adding words to the T9 Dictionary; Words like "Mwah" I can't type in the phone cause it cuts off at "My" and if I use the Add feature, It never recognizes the word when I try again. Can anyone help me with this problem?

I really hope a blank space before the contact name will sort them to the top of the list like my old razr did. My sony & nokia would sort them to the bottom, drove me nuts so I had to end up putting a lower 'a' before the name to have them sort to the top.

Does anybody know the answer to this question: Will the SGH-D807 recognize and play music I transfer to the transflash card, or will I get stonewalled and have to buy downloads to get music on this phone?

Has anyone tried tethering the D807 to a computer for use as a Bluetooth modem yet? When I tried it last night, my laptop would not find the modem service of the phone. Even though the phone itself and everything that I've read says the D807 can act as a modem for Bluetooth DUN, I just can't seem to get it to work. Is there a setting I'm missing in the phone for this?

I just got the first one in my store today and I bought it! It is a very nice phone for those looking for a thin feature packed phone but does not want a Razr. The phone is very very thin and light. The Slide works very well and very fluid. The data speed (EDGE class 10) works awsome. The only thing that I think may get annoying is that the earpiece volume isn't that high. In an average invironment it will be solid, but in an import or something, it may be a problem. Also it does not ring very loundly. Look for my review soon but first impressions look good. 😁

Cingular is apparently also releasing the Motorola V3i (updated RAZR) in the next week or two...

The specs on these two phones are very similar, in terms of features and size. Plus I think they're a pretty similar price point. The V3i does have iTunes, and a few more features (hey, it's Moto so everything and the kitchen sink ;), but otherwise these are similar phones.

Just wondering if people think they are too similar, and maybe they had to decide between these phones and wont be releasing the V3i now?

ok, so i think i found how to do it, but it says not allowed. anyone know if it has to be below a certain bitrate or something? i know the music player wont play above 192 kbps.

I picked up a D807 today from the local Cingular store. Apparently this is the first day they are selling it.

I am enjoying it so far but I do have a few issues/questions if anyone can help me? The manual is not very detailed and this phone isn't listed on Samsungs web site.

1. Can you have it display the contacts in order by First Name? I tried to copy all my contacts from the sim card to the phone which worked, but then it displays each contact twice (once for sim, once for phone). I just did this as a backup, is there any way to make it ignore duplicates?

2. I thought it would be fun to try to play a video on it but I have no idea what format, codec, or resolutions the phone supports.

3. I do not see an option for it to vibrat...

We officially got 10 in today and ive been playin w/ it for the last hour and it is SICK!!! The only bad part is is I cant display it or activate it as it isnt on my planos yet and its not an option for a phone in the activation system so I cant activate it either. The good news is is that it is on my package list. The new 2 year price will be $129.99 and the qualified upgrade price is $249.99. Ive tried finding out when the day was when we can display and activate it but cant find one. It should prolly be in the next couple of days tho watch out for it.
