LG VX-8300

Hey guys,

It's 12:30 and I have been playing with the 5300 for a few hours.

It's nice.. Let me tell you a little about it and then more hopefully tomorrow.

Form factor - Nice and noticably smaller than the 8300. Not a huge amount but enough. Nice and rounded edges etc..

Keypad is awesome with the Disc controller much larger some how than the 8300 and great feel to it..

Side buttons are positive and very nice.

You can not use the speaker when closed as with most Lg's. No big deal. but would have been nice.

Menus are very fast and just like the 8300, I have everything set to blue and it looks great.
You can also set the round pad direction keys to anything you want like on the 8300. Awesome.

Camera seems quite nice so...

well i just got the 8300 on the 12th, and i also got the essantials kit and the micro sd card. i installed the software on my computer plugged in my phone and put song on to the memory card and was set.BUT now when i do it, i plug it in and it makes the connection sound then when i hit start sync and it has a message that says can not connect, please check usb cord. everything is plugged in but ti wont connect...

HELP, PLEASEEEE

So I cant wait to get my hands on the 5300 and 8500..

I am praying that LG fixed the Bluetooth Echo problem. If they did not , they are really going to be in trouble. I am amazed that VZW does not make them fix this echo thing.

You can take a Moto or a Samsung and use 50 different headsets and they all work pretty well..

With the LG8300 you are screwed, no matter what they all ehco back to the outside caller.

Let's hope the new ones are good.

The 5300 looks great because of it's size , I dont care about Vcast.. Just give me a good Speakerphone and Working Bluetooth and a nice keypad and small and I am happy.. I bet alot of people would like the same..

😳 i was checking this phone out and just what i wished for... i liked the vx8100 but it was kinda bulky, and i didn't like that green faceplate... but this phone's color looks nice and the features are amazing~~~ Also, its lot thinner than the 8100!!! i believe the reception is good just like the 8100 after i'm done w/ t-mobile... i'm switching over!!!! LG is just getting better and better these days just like Samsung... let me change the subject little bit.. i know its kinda random but why does so many people want the Razr?? it sucks period!!! so many problems with that stupid phone but people still wants it!!! i don't get it... 🤨

How do you change ring tones on this? I accidentally bought a song off of VCast thinking it was for my ring tone, but it only plays as a song...I'm new to this LG Digital phone stuff.

I loved the 8300! Got it as soon as it was online. Loved the look, the feel, the size, but unfortunately the Bluetooth made it unusable for me.
I use a BT headset 99% of the time (I have two small boys and take care of my 97 year old Grandmother, so my hands are always full). Besides the echo/static, which could be adjusted to work good enough for me, I couldn't keep a BT connection! It wasn't the headset-tried 4 different ones that I own, and wasn't just this one particular handset-exchanged 4 times! I would connect, then for no reason at all it would just disconnect itself, sometimes after 10-15 minutes, sometimes not until longer. It would happen not when I was making or in the middle of a call, but when it was just on "idle". S...

Being not very technologically inclined at all, I cannot figure out simple functions of my phone. What I want to do is put music from my computer onto my phone and also use one of those songs as a ringtone. I've got a SanDisk flash adapter and the usb cable to hook it up to my computer. What do I do?

i'm pretty sure most of people figured it
out but here you go... you first put all
the mp3s to my_mp3 folder in the t-flash
card.... after that put the card in and
then you do this.... press menu then press
0 after, you put all 0s for the service code
then, go all the way down to music setting,
press ok, then change the option to "MP3
enabled" press ok... exit from services menu
and then go back to "Get Tunes & Tones" and
if you go all the way down it should say
"My MP3s"... and thats it!! enjoy!!!

Ok...I got myself a 1gb transflash card.
Formatted it.

Now I have these folders:
my_flix
my_mp3
my_music
my_pix
my_sounds

I moved some MP3 files to my_mp3 directory. now I can play my songs (and i have to admit the sound quality isn't half bad).

I know what my_pix and my_flix are for.

now..here's the qeustion. What are my_music and my_sounds used for? I've moved MP3's to these 2 directories on the card but dont know how to access them.

anyone? Oh i also have bitpim and a USB cable. sweet application 🙂

I loaded up my 512Mb MicroSD card with a month's worth of MP3s from my educational CDs, then discovered that I couldn't fit the whole months worth. I converted them to WMA and now they fit. The problem is that the WMA files, even carefully named to sort correctly, don't play in order??? If I go to "My Music" they list in order, but when I close the phone and press the outside play button, they play out of order. It is bothersome to change speakers in the middle of their talk!

When they are MP3s, they play in order.

Any ideas?

After hours and hours of time with the Verizon 2nd-level support I am still unable to get my new Jabra BT620s to play music from my LG VX-8300. Has anyone had success in playing their WMA music with a bluetooth headset with this phone? The BT620s is a stereo headset so maybe that is the problem??? Or maybe it is a user-error??? Or maybe no one has tried this yet???

The phone is great, the headset is good too (maybe a little warm on the ears), and all of the bluetooth functionality works EXCEPT playing music on the headset... all the beeps, the conversations, the audio prompts, all work correctly wireless/bluetooth, but as soon as a song is played on the phone, the audio stops on the headset and starts on the...

Well, I pressed menu 0 and the mobile web settings are there to change, however... you cannot type or erase anything 😳 . So it looks like I'll have to buy a data cable and use bitpim to edit the wap settings if I'm going to use my own wap server. I was wondering when Verizon was going to change that 👿 . Just wanted to let those of you that use your own wap server know you'll need to buy a data cable.

how come when i send a picture from my computer through my email address, either to @vzwpix.com or @vtext.com, the attachment doesnt come to my phone? 😕

Curious if I can transfer video from my phone that was not in the 15sec message format to my computer. I have the vcast pack with cable and a 1 gig card. Thanks Jon

I'm very new at this...but I'm trying to figure out how to get my MP3's from my Mac onto my new LG 8300. I heard you can do the secret "enable MP3's" on the phone..which I did. Now, is the only way to do it easily is get a micro card and upload all the MP3's onto the card? Is the USB cable that comes with it useful at all? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. 🙂

Anybody know how many games you can purchase and download on the VX8300? After downloading 1 game and a few ringtones, it looks like I only have enough memory on my phone to load just one more game.

Is that all they will hold? Anyway to put them on your micro SD card?
