Help! Trying to figure this out

Hi everyone...

Just got the VX8300 and lovin it so far! I am planning to purchase a microSD for music downloads, but I have a question...

Do I have to purchase the Music Essentials kit? Or can I download music from my PowerBook onto the disk and then play directly from the disc from the phone? I've already enabled the MP3 mode on the phone.

My other question is that my PowerBook from iTunes saves music as .m4p ...will the phone recognize this? Or do I have to do something to the files to get the phone to recognize my music downloads...

HELP!

Thanks in advance! 😁

how is reception near mountains?

i've read several different reviews (here and other sites) on the 8300 and have noticed that more than a few users have complained about the reception on this phone...i live near the mountains in the upper part of a valley...and have had numerous calls dropped although a tower is less than a mile away. i'm interested in using my NE2 for the 8300 but am a little unsure because of the reported reception issues. if anyone lives in a similar area and has this phone...please let me know how the reception is....thanks in advance!

vx8300 Bluetooth

I just tried a stereo heatset for phone and music. I could use if for the phone, no problem, but could not hear the music through the headset. I think I read here that you can hear MP3s but that .wma files will not play. Can anyone confirm this?
And why would this phone not be able to play wma files?

Thinking of switching from Sprint

I'm thinking of getting the Chocolate, the KRZR k1m or the 8300.

Few Questions:

Can I make Songs I have on my computer as ringtones on the above listed phones?

How do Chocolate and 8300 sound with/without Headphones?

Has anyone downloaded any? Which one's the best? Which has the best graphics? Do the games have actual sounds or just graphics?

Mp3's on the TransFlash card?

I have a Moto E815 now. I play my mp3's through the media player, straight from the transflash card. Is this the same on the 8300? Can they be played through the outside of the phone?

pops/cracks in earpiece while speaking

Had my 8300 for a week or so now and generally love it. I find, however, that when I'm talking on it, I get pops/cracks in the earpiece that are coming from from my voice or breath. Saw another thread that devolved into a "heavy breathing" discussion; and I guess this is a "breath" isssue, but it seems too sensitive in that way. I also recognize it is a product of the "side tone" that lets you hear your own voice. BUT, these sounds/crack/pops are to the point of being irritating/distracting.
Are others hearing the same thing? Or is there, perhaps, something out of adjustment on mine, or some "tweak" to decrease the sensitivity on this? Thanks.

LG 8300 THEME SONG!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm typing this while i continue to be amazed at this phone. I'm wearing my Moto HT820 stereo
bluetooth headset. I know the Chocolate song is Goldfrapps's 'Strict Machine'. The 8300 never had a commercial like the 8500 but i think it should. I think the best song that matches up well for a commercial or flash segment is Jem's 'It's Amazing' song. If only someone could put together a commercial or flash segment that would be awesome!!!!!!

Ringtones:any got a quick link to save time

hey friends,

Does anyone know of a link to find some mp3 ringtones. I'm not talking about the pay sites either. It just takes too long to find a song, crop it up (using audacity) and then send it to my phone. I've found a couple of peoples personal site to where i just save the file then upload it using BitPim.
I know I'm asking for a huge shortcut but I'm just down right lazy. I was also trying to find sites then sold cd's to hear a preview of the song but when i right click and try to "save as" it would not let me. Any leads would be great

The phone is better than 8100

LG Contact page for Bluetooth Issue- Use attached letter and send it !

Guys,

Please goto the Lg page in the link below and simply fill out a few fields and then copy my complaint below , maybe modify it a bit and see what happens. I have been calling them and emailing them and they are doing nothing. Let's turn this up and get it fixed or we will have to start a Class action that will make them listen.

Guys we have dozens of the 8300's in our company and the Bluetooth echo problems are becoming very critical. I have wrote and called more than 5 times and we are getting upset. Verizon claims it's LG's problem and in our estimation it is LG's problem. The 8...

Scheduler "SNOOZE" feature - missing on 8300!!

I bought this phone, upgrading from my 6100 - One feature sorely missing from the 8300, is the "snooze" function when you get a scheduled reminder.

I know that when the reminder chimes in, you can choose "VIEW LATER" to remind you again in 5 minutes, but once you've seen the message (VIEW NOW) there is no way to "SNOOZE" - except for manually editing.

You are also unable to erase the reminder from that window (the way it was in the 6100) - You have to fully exit the schedule menu' re-enter, and erase from there.

Any suggestions?

MP3's...WMA's...is it either/or, or can it be both?

I've had my 8300 for about 6 weeks now, and I'm just getting to putting music on it...(I'm a Mac user, and we just got DD's PC running XP with Windows Media 10 on it)...anyway, I started ripping some CD's so I can get some music on the phone and after lamenting to my husband about how tedious this is going to be, he offered to FTP my library from iTunes over to dd's computer. Everything that was in my iTunes as .mp3 is moving nicely into Window's Media player (the .mp4 format is another story, I'll have him try to convert them). Now before I go and enable the mp3 feature on the phone, will I still be able to play the .wma format? (I have some cd's that I started ripping for dd to listen to in her room that are not on my iTunes library).

Will this phone drop my calls in analog areas?

I have upgraded to the 8300 from the 6000. So far so GREAT, but I have a big fear about just one thing: Reception when I travel. My 6000 almost never dropped a call and I drove in NC from the mountains to the beach all the time. Both phones are all digital. The 6000 had "dual band" and the 8300 has "digital dual band." Can I safely assume my new phone will have the same reception that my 6000 did? Or will the "digtal dual band" make a difference in an analog area? Is there any way to know this without actually driving 5 hours to find out? Thanks to anyone that can enlighten me!
