HTC TyTN / 8525 / JasJam (Hermes)
HTC version vs. Cingular version
I know that some people believe that the extra $300 is worth it to buy the non-carrier (cingular) version. I would like to make an informed decision. What are the differences and why is the HTC factory version that much better than the Cingular version?

The only features I know of that its missing is the second camera for video telephony. The navigational controls are a bit different as well. So if video conference calls are worth $300 more to you then that I believe that's it. I called a HTC 3rd party sales company and asked them the difference. They said that Cingular version was dumbed down and she couldn't tell me any features that the TyTN has over the 8525. She told me to call Cingular. Like Cingular would give me the low down some of those guys barely even know about their own phones. Well it still would be cheaper, I think it's like $600 to buy the phone outright with no contract extensions. I get 25% discount on all phones, so it pays for me to get it via cingular. I do like the HTC's looks better, but not at a price,
I guess it comes down to features, if you need or want the video then go for it. I barely use the camera's on any phone, it's more my kids using it then anything else.
