HTC TyTN / 8525 / JasJam (Hermes)

I am a new user of Windows Mobile, having moved from Palm Treo 650.
I just returned from Arizona & California over a 3 day trip. The phone updates itself, which is fine. To keep things consistent, I updated my laptop (Windows XP Pro). I am using Outlook 2007 and used the "time zones" feature. I left my home (NY) as is, adding another location (Arizona). When I did, I saw my appointments look as if they had been ruined, making them two day events, leaving them in teh day before, I tried swapping the locations and that worked okay. However, this means that my NY time must appear on the laptop, which seems ridiculous.
After much experimenting, I finally forced both the phone and laptop to be on NY time. It looked okay, but appointments...

Has anyone had any experience w/ google maps? does it work on 8525 ???

I had the samsung blackjack and it had the yahoo messenger on it. Well the phone turned out to be a piece of junk so I got the 8525 and it is an awesome phone. Although it does not have yahoo messenger on it. Can someone tell me if I can get it and where. Thanks

what is this phone limitation if any for installing and viewing videos.

The device finds the receiver but has a question mark next to it like it does not know what it is?

so my phone goes on standby every 2-3 minutes of inactivity.. i believe it's a setting under the advanced tab in battery settings.

is this suppose to happen while im on call longer than 3 minutes? when my phone goes on standby, i cannot hang up the phone.

is the only way to fix this problem to turn off the power saving mode? does/will this KILL battery life by a lot?

how do i play google video or youtube on my phone?

also, does the full version of opera allow downloads?

i'm new to cingular and just acquired this fairly expensive phone. i get it activated and they tell me that the phone is not insurable and that the company has just pulled the service technicians from the corporate stores. am i supposed to just eat the 500-or-so dollars if i crack the lcd or would you guys know any alternate methods of repair and/or insurance?

Does anyone know a website that can be accessed through my ppc to watch music videos or video downloads.... Is there any free sites?

😡 So I've had my 8525 for about a week now and I'm having a serious problem; it drops EVERY call within 3 minutes. If it wasn't a $600+ phone I'd freekin spike it to the ground! Anyone else having this problem? I've removed all 3rd party app's and master reset (memory wipe) and still is dropping the calls. Any ideas?

I cant believe i am already having issues and i just received the phone.

Ok everyone knows when you are aligning the screen you come up to the screen which says pop up menu right.... well when i get to that screen, it just stays. It does not disappear or anything, it sticks on that screen. Am i supposed to see a "next" button appear on the screen like the previous stylus screen where i have to click next??


At the pop up screen, do i have to click a next button so that i can actually reach the today screen. If this problem continue to persists, i will be returning that phone to get an exchange, but i need to know what i need to see after that screen.

wat can i use to clean the screen without damaging it

I don't know what the holdup is, but Garmin isn't yet shipping the Mobile 20s with the MicroSD our phones need. They don't have any in stock and they don't know when the stock will be available.

I was able to find a Moble 20 at MegaGPS, but it comes with a MiniSD and the data can't be offloaded, even if you wanted to.

The maps are available on a separate MicroSD, but not the interface.

I purchased the 8525 at Cingular. They sold me a Motorola USB adaptor that would enable me to plug in my bose or sony noise cancelling headsets. It doesn't work. Does anyone know if another adaptor is available for what I want. The headphones that come with the 8525 work but are not good.

is there anyway to be able to listen to sirus radio on this phone? if so how?

I've heard about apps that could hack into the ptt button... And I've noticed someone has posted a link to this hack on the forum... Has anyone used the hack app...? Please let me know how it works and how to install it... Thank you

i have the lowest dataplan out there... the media bundle for about 9.99 a month

im gettin the 8525 on friday and i wanted to know do i really have to upgrade my plan to really use the WIFI capabilities.

I have a router and a modem at my place so im guessing i should be able to access the internet like how i access the internet with my laptop, without having to pay any fees to cingular that is.

is it possible to change the look of the phone, like to change the theme... i love to personalize my stuff. I know this phone is a business based phone but what free games comes with this phone. Is there a website where i can get free themes and free software for it??

if i were to transfer some ringtones to this phone via bluetooth, would i be able to assign them as contact ringtones.

I have had Goodlink installed on my TyTn with a couple of unwanted side affects. Does anyone know how to overcome these issues?

1) I have password protected the device with a simple numeric pin. Before Goodlink, when I turned it on, a large numeric keypad popped up so I could enter the pin with a finger. Now I get a full keyboard which is too small to use with one of my fat fingers. Anyone know how to get the large key pad back a the start-up pin entry default?

2) I can't turn off GPRS from the device and keep GSM connected. Goodlink automatically turns it back on. This affects battery life and more importantly is expensive as I am currently roaming and paying GBP10 a Mbyte for data!
