Samsung SGH-E900 / E906

I just bought the e900, I thought that it was supposed to work where I am (just north of Atlanta , GA). I had an lg cu500 with cingular that had perfect reception.

So I took the sim card out of the LG and put it in the e900 and it says that there is no network.

Am I missing something? I bought another phone once and just put in the active sim card was right in business. So I kinda think it is something other than my service.

Any help would be great, cause if it's not fixable I need to get back my money!

I was two seconds from a D900 when I spotted the E900. I WAS FLOORED 😳

It looks like a chocolate but has the great features of a Samsung SGH line. At 100 bucks cheaper than the D900 its a steal...

I recommend making a backup of the phone's contents before you flash the firmware, just in case.

You will need:

- Optiflash for E900
- A firmware upgrade
- The original samsung USB cable that came with the phone

Procedure:

Launch Optiflash and click on 'Options > Settings > Generic'
- Select 'Customer T: D830/D840/E900 (USB)'
- Set 'Flash Erase Passes' to '1'
- Set 'Operation Passes' to 'Default'
- Uncheck all checkboxes except 'Differences only'

Select the tab 'Flash and Verify'
- Browse to and select your firmware (*.s3)

Select the tab 'Default Contents'
If you have a file *.cts with the firmware *.s3:
- Select radio button “S-Record with content”
- Browse to and select your *.cts file

i've just inserted a 1gig memory card in my e900 phone... the problem is that the videos i place in my memory card is not playing well... the audio of the video is faster.. also if i press 1 which is to play the video in full screen, it stops after a few seconds... but when i transfer it back in the phone memory... it seems okay... does my phone have a problem or is it the memory card? is it really like that when you place your videos in the memory card? please answer...

does anyone know if this phone has video caller id like the t809? thanks in advance

I am kind of hoping that this would be a cingular phone, but after looking at the specs, I am leaning towards T-Mobile. Anyone have any info?

If so, how? will pic and text messaging work? How about browser?

Seems to be almost identical to the D807 besides a better screen resolution and camera. Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see a huge advantage of this over the D807...

Also, it looks like the front keys change when the slide is open? Thats what it seems in the pictures, as if there are talk and soft buttons when open, and media buttons when closed. Maybe it's just the backlights turning off, but regaurdless, its pretty slick looking!

i bought this phone a few weeks ago. just like 20 mins ago i text msged someone and my touchscreen was working fine. all of a sudden i pick up my phone and the touch screen buttons do not work at all, the lights dont even turn on and im so pissed off. anyone know how to fix this problem or what i should do?
