just out of the box
I've been waiting for this unit also. Never understood why Palm out paced CE in the smart phones.
I have just had mine a week now. Over all very happy with the familiar CE enviorment. I bought it expecting one problem, I travel alot including the rural in the southwest USA. This is an all digital phone with no analog reception. I have an air-card so I expect to be using it more often in some areas that have no digital service. I think this problem will go away soon enough as Verizon updates its digital service.
I have had a couple of glitches in setup.
1. Don't call Samsung Support! I spent 2 hours on hold and am still waiting for a response to e-mail two days now.
2. SSL support for e-mail. I have ATT E-mail and can't get at it. I have to go to the website.
3. Putting "," pauses into the phone book for automatic password dialing.
Will they provide upgrade Windows Mobile 2003?
5. Connecting and holding the connection to Express network. Although I understand they are having technical problems in the Las Vegas area. I get a lot of email glitches (timing out) on my other POP3 account.
I have been syncing with my laptop and sending from there. They also make it round about to get at.
I will work through these. I can see the screen and icons. I prefer the large font access. The camera I will get to in time. Bottom line is I like it.
A Almost Perfect Phone
Everything I every wanted in a pocket pc phone and more. I can be on the phone and be playing a game of chess at eh same time. It has been three weeks since I bought my phone I never had a drop call. The Speakerphone option is very nice to. I can be driving somewhere and all I have to do is hold down the talk button and be hands free to talk to who ever. The software for this phone is almost endless. If you have the memory and the money there this pocket pc phone can do about anything you want it to from changing the channel on your TV to controlling your computer actions. The battery life is so great on the phone. The phone comes with two batteries. I have own 3 pocket pc phones and this one is the first one I had that has a turbo mode in the power options. This makes your pocket pc run and load programs faster. If you didnât know this you are able to play Nintendo Emulation games on your phone. And the Turbo mode on the phone gives it enough power to run almost normal. The camera on the phone is great and takes excellent pictures. On the right setting it looks like the pictures are 2.0 mega pixels.
Ok now itâs times for the flaws in the phone. Well for one thing if the phone is going to be a camera phone it should be able to send picture message, but you canât. You canât even send your picture in an email in the text message only numbers well go in the send box. The phone doesnât come with any software where you can get email from a POP3 account. Or email at all. You have in use the ActiveSync to send your email off through your outlook outbox. The reset button whole it so small you have to get something as small as a needle to reset it with. Maybe itâs just me, but I donât even see a hard reset button on here. ALSOâ¦. I have to fight with pocket pc to stay connected to the internet. If I am sending an email and it takes over a minute the connection will end and I have to start all over. Overall the phone is so great.
