I really do cherish this phone. I know it might sound a little strange but I think I have fallen in love with this phone. I never stop using this phone as it fuels my ability to engage in great conversation but without breaking my bank LOL. Thanks Tracfone.
Happy with this phone and the service
I am pleased to say that I am very happy with this phone and the tracfone service. With tracfone you get so much more than you pay for. With tracfone one gets everything one needs at a fraction of the standard price.

Thanks again Tracfone.
This phone crushes my last one
This phone is really great. I use it with tracfone which seems to be working really well. I enjoy using tracfone as the service is great and the price is not crazy high. If your in the market for a prepaid phone this is for you.
This phone sux
I bought this phone from Tracfone after my previous Motorola died. I thought "great this is a flip phone with lcd display, just what I wanted". Out of the 3 Moto's I've owned this is definitely the worst for 2 main reasons.
1) Short battery life - no where near the number of days they claim.
2) Does not save the number of anyone leaving a voice mail. This is especially frustrating because most people assume that their number is automatically recorded and don't bother leaving their number on voice mail. You have no idea who called until you listen to the message and if you want to call them back you'd better hope you have their number handy otherwise you are screwed.
I will be buying a new phone soon and you can bet that it won't be a Motorola.
cheap and for a good reason
This was my first phone and I was lucky enough not to own it for a while. It was cheap and I was kind of embarassed to carry it around.
PROS
-small,lightweight
-games
-keys are easy to use
-airtime display
CONS
-small screen
-battery life
-no camera
-no external screen
So I have a problem with the body and design of the phone but the user interface is ok.
No Battery Life
I purchased the V170 in March. The standby life of the battery is less than 24 hours. I contacted Motorola. They said to call Tracfone. Tracfone was very helpful and sent a 2nd phone with a new battery. Same problem. No standby life. Called Tracfone again, they have since sent me 2 more batteries. Still no luck. I called Motorola again to see if they were having problems with this phone. They said no. I find it hard to believe that I am the only person in the country that has received two brand new phones and a total of 4 new batteries, and I can't get the phone to keep a charge.
I am going to try to call Tracfone again and get my money back. I don't know what else to do at this point. My phone is dead within 24 hours, and this is WITHOUT making a call - just on standby.
I do want to say that they people at Tracfone have tried to be helpful. But, I think they are just as confused.
Others in my family have this phone, that they purchased about a year ago... and have NEVER had a problem with the standby time. It holds for over a week. I don't know if the problem lies within the recent manufacturing of the phone... as it doesn't seem to be a problem on my other family member's phones purchased last year.
If anyone has had similar trouble, and has resolved this issue with Tracfone, I would appreciate an update.
Poor transmitted speech quality
I develop vocoder algorithms for a living. I have never heard a poorer implementation of the full- or half-rate GSM coder.
Think twice before purchasing this phone for aged or disabled relatives. While the keypad keys are a reasonable size, the transmitted voice quality with literally leave the user "speechless".
