LG VX-3200
Average Ratings
Great little phone
I tried several phones, the VX4500, the Audiovox CDM8900, and the new Motorola V710 (way overpriced). I loved the VX4500, but I kept getting dropped calls. Verizon rep thought it might have been because it's digital only. Then I moved to the tri-mode phones (made 3 returns, had receipts ready, boxes packed, good sob story each time). CDM8900 was cheesy, horrible speakerphone, bogus camera. Next was the v710 - cheap keypad, oversimplified menu options, and the 1.2 megapixel camera not very impressive, and again, way overpriced. The simple, lightweight VX3200 was a pleasant surprise. Crisp, clear calls, no dropped calls. Slick LG menu like in the VX4500. Good quality speakerphone (although not as good as the VX4500). Battery life is OK. No bells and whistles, but if you want a basic phone without a camera, this is an excellent choice. The only thing missing is an external display for the time and called ID, but I can live with that. And with the $229 I saved when I returned the Motorola V710, I can go out and buy a real digital camera.
Good Value
This is probably the best phone out there for $39. The signal quality is very good, and I have almost never had no service, since when there is no digital service, it switches to analog.
Pros:
Price
Color Screen
Tri-mode
Large contacts list
Cons:
Impossible to see screen in the sunlight
No get it now (even thought that stuff is overpriced garbage)
No belt clip included with phone
No external caller-ID
Very Good Basic Phone
I really like this phone. But first, some background info.
The last time I owned a cell phone, it was analog and the size of a beer. So I have no other recent personal experience to compare with.
PROS: Superb, stellar RF performance. I almost always have 5 bars of signal, even while driving in the country (Verizon Wireless, thank you). Sturdy, understated design. Easy-to-learn menus. Brilliant, if small, color screen. Makes and receives calls flawlessly. Good battery life.
CONS: No games. Limited ringtone and wallpaper downloads unless you hack it. No camera. No external screen. No built-in pot pipe. All of these things I could care less about. I only need a reliable phone.
Summary: I'm 49, an engineer and practical. I don't need a PSP game machine or LED disco ball, and I don't want to play a CD as my ringtone. I just want a great phone. The LG VX-3200 is perfect for me. It's hard to reconcile this small, lightweight bit of Korean plastic with its superb RF performance and crystal clarity of calls, but it's true. Thank the new 3G CDMA technology (and Verizon) I guess. I'm totally happy with it and I can recommend it without reservation, unless you're a gamer or ringtone junkie.
Great little phone
I bought this phone for my daughter for her 13th birthday. She is thrilled with every feature on it. Beautiful colour screen, excellent reception (with Telus in Canada) The only con I have about this phone is that after you charge it it will not turn on until you remove the battery and put it back in. Bit of a pain but it works beautifully other than that. Would recommend to anyone looking for a flip phone.
Its nothing to brag about....
the phone itself, has nothing very exiting about it, no key features that make you want to have the phone, its just a cheap flip-phone at a very conveinient price, the phone is not really well designed, the inside and the outside look very cheap compared to the LG 6070 which has outer display, all wrapped together in a nicer package, if you just want a basic phone that does everything subpar, then this is the phone for you.
PRO's
-No antenna to brake
-Cheap
-Telus Mobility reception
CON's
-no outer display
-Not a crisp enough sound compared to the Samsungs
-Its ugly, no nice lines to it or anything
-Screen is too clostophobic
-can't open it with one hand
-the bronze look to it aint working out
endurence test
this phone is one tuff little cookie. it was able to with-stand me running it over along with the car behind me doing the same thing. the strange thing is i had studs on my car and I'm almost certain so did my friend. the really strange thing is i drove a 1989 bronco and he was driving a 2000 chevy diesel truck. the phone wasn't perfect after the incident but it still opens closed and the screen wasn't cracked actually nothing was the phone was in remarkable good condition it has two small problems one is the skiff mark on the back of the antenna which was not hidden by the cover i had on the phone and the other is the small but seemingly unnoticeable lop sided closing of the phone you really have to look for this its crooked lol. but over all i think its a great phone for just talking or text but not at all for Internet with no Internet capabilities on the entire thing.
ugly looks impressive performance
Hello, Im using this phone right now because my junk moto v262 ear piece crapped out, and I must say that its a nice performer.
Alltel rep says people are complaining about poor reception but I havent experianced this, what I have found is that alltel is having trouble with the axxcess services and this phone they say is in need of a software upgrade for axxcess and they are working on it.
This phone has a loud ringer and can vibrate and ring at the same time, and you can actually feel it vibrate.
The speaker phone has decent volume.
Pros: nice size, can be carried in pants pocket
Loud ringers
Strong vibrate
Seems to get good signal
loud ear piece volume, I have been keeping it at the lowest seeting.
Cons: No external display
Lot a very attractive phone I want to use as Im through with Motorola, I will be deciding between this phone because I run equioment that I cant hear the phone ring but I can feel it vibrate.
Or my slider phone which doesnt ring and vibrate at the same time and I cant feel it vibrate.
I do think if you want a good call quality and small size that this is a good choice I have been pretty impressed so far.
I am trying to decide which phone I want to use
EXCELLENT PHONE
I have had this phone for only 1 day and I'm already in deep love with this phone. It's perfect for me. Nice Polyphonic Ringtones. Theres only 1 bad thing that theres no games. But games don't really matter to me. It has Wonderful wall papers that rotate. I get GREAT reception and i'm even in mobile home! My other phone never had recpetion in my house!
Good, but with fundamental flaws
I agree with the many Pros offered above. I just wanted to offer my reasons for returning this phone:
Cons
1) The phone cannot be set to ring and vibrate at the same time, or to vibrate then ring. It can only ring OR vibrate.
2) The snooze for the alarm is only 5 minutes and it is not adjustable.
3) The top edge of the phone hurts my ear.
4) The volume adjuster is on the side and it's hard to avoid hitting it by accident.
