tmobile vs. cingular in chicago

I've been with cingular (celone) since '99 and have been increasingly dissatisfied with their pricing and service (roaming in any basement).

I'm making the switch to tMobile and it looks like i'll save on average $20-30 a month (i use about 1500 minutes) and more if you figure in not going over minutes because tmobile's 2500 minute plan is less than my current 1800 "preferred" nation plan where i roam in rockford.

main thing i want to know is how consistant are tmobiles bills month to month- are there any pitfalls i should be wary of -- because this all really seems too good to be true.

thanks!

T-Mobile and 850MHz

Does T-Mobile have any 850MHz properties? i.e., if I'm getting a new phone for use on T-Mobile, should I one with 850 and 1900 MHz frequences? 🙂

v300

due to "quality issues" the tmobile motorola v300 has been delayed indefinitely. they are sending the entire stock of v300's in the tmo warehouses back to motorola to be flashed with software to fix a lot of problems that have arisen. probably out early december now. i think after this snafu tmobile may never carry motorola again, imo.

Best phone for reception

Overall I am happy with T-Mobile. Except I think I might switch unless I can start getting better reception. I first want to get a new phone and see if a better phone will help b/c I know the phone I have right now is pretty cruddy.

What phone(s) get the best reception for T-Mobile?

Thanks in advance for anyones help.

NYC reception

I see the question was posted by someone else a few weeks ago but only one reply was posted. I'm looking for more detail if at all possible. THANKS!

Guys and Gals, I need some help here, I'm a current Nextel user ☚ī¸ and I hate the service. I'm trying to find who - T-Mobile or (Dare I say it here) Verizon - has the better service.

What is your experience with the service of T-Mobile? how is it in the tunnels of NYC - Midtown, LIRR, etc. How is it in the malls and office buildings of Long island, Queens, Manhattan, etc.

What phones of T-Mobile get the best reception?

TIA, for your input!

Treo 600 for T-mobile / question about unlocked phones.

I've been thinking of getting an account with T-mobile but I really want the treo 600. Is T-mobile definitely getting it?? I've come across an unlocked treo 600 but should I wait for it from T-mobile?? Whats the difference anyways with un-locked phones. Some people tell me I can get unlocked phones to work with T-mobile but the phone itself will always say "Cingular" for example. Is that true?? Anyone have experience with unlocked phones??

Samsung SGH-E715 and reception

Hi all,

A quick question -- I _had_ T-Mobile in the Rhode Island area with two Nokias (the 3650 and 6610) and have had less than stellar luck in getting/maintaining a decent signal (also, dropped calls were high).

Would a better phone (in this case a Samsung SGH-E715) provide better signal strength and call retention or should I just suck it up and wave byebye to T-Mobile?

Thanks! 🙂

Does anyone know anything about the Motorola V500 coming out in the US? I think its out in UK, but was wondering when it is going to come in the US and if T-Mobile will carry it, since they already carry the Motorola V300. Thanks

TMO and Assurion

Anyone have any experience with the insurance program?

I have it and have a SE t300 and it is taking a LONG time to make calls. Sometimes it doesn't connect at all and sometimes I have to re-dial 5 or 6 times. Does anyone have any idea what they would replace it with?

e715 vs. motorola v300

Planning on buying a tmobile phone in the next two to three weeks. Does anyone know if they will be coming out with any new phones by then or soon after? If not would you recommend the e715 or motorola v300? I would prefer to have a speakerphone with a camera phone but not necessary if one is a much nicer phone than the other. Any feedback would help. Thanks.
