BlackBerry Pearl 8100

OK, for those of you with the pearl you will understand this frustration. When you get a phone call, if you move the trackball it will silence the ring. So if you have the phone in your pocket and are walking there are times when the phone might of rang but you didn't even know because the trackball was "moved" while you were walking. Any help to deactivate this function would help. thanks

I go through my gmail account and even with the "Hide Sent Messages" option selected everytime I send an email it shows up on my message screen as a new message. Is there any fix to this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I drive a Toyota with integrated bluetooth, my phone pairs perfectly, however I've noticed that once it has been unpaired my volume up and down buttons no longer work while I'm using the handset to make a call. The only way to get the functionality back is to remove the battery and restart. Has anyone else seen this? I'm still within my first 14 days. Thanks,

How do you get the same ringtone you have for a certain person when they call to play when you get a message from them as well?

I can't figure out how to fix this problem I feel like it's a virus or something. I have checked all settings and messed with the phone to the 18th degree. Please give me feedback if anyone has deal with this problem or has solved it.

For some reason when i plug my phone into my computer the pearl does not recognize being plugged in and the software doesn't recognize it either. Does any one have a solution

Any input as to which network the Pearl works best with? Im coming over from Sprint for the Pearl, I love the Sprint network but the phone choices are slim. I live in St. Louis and plan on using the phone as a modem when traveling. I also plan on using it with our companys BES. How are the other features on the phone? Do any of the service providers disable anything? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

is there a way to change the way text is entered so i can for example hit the qw button twice to get 1 w instead of q and w or having to hit the q and rolling the trackwheel to the right to select the w.

i dont know if im mistaken, but i've heard from some people at work that there will be a new blackberry Pearl coming out with a full Qwerty keyboard. supposedly, it will be just a little bit wider than this one. is there any truth to this?

how do u make the icons on the home screen display vertically on the side and not horizontally.

Ok guys now is the time to chime in and help me out . My girlfriend and i just bought 2 brand new pearls from cingular. Gotta say i love the phone from first glance . But now on to the problem . First we have had nothing but problems with cingular and there data package . i can recieve email no problem but if i try to send it to my girlfriend , no go . the blackberry messenger service sends the request right back to me . So i actually add my self to my buddy list when i sent it to here. Can someone advice me on how to fix this . cingular has no idea they just send a update which does squatt ! Can someone possibly send me a request to my pin to see if it works .PIN: 23EF93D0 . I would like to know if it is my phone or her phone or our acct. ...

Is there any way to get this phone to give an alert tone when it rec sms text instead of just vibe?

Does anyone know how to get the Pearl to display the network time? I've got the date/time zone set to Eastern, date/time source set to Network; under that is shows the correct network date & time but it does not display the correct local time zone on the main screen.
What I mean is that when I'm traveling I expect the Pearl to display the local time since I've got the source set to network. The help feature for this tells me to change the time zone, but I don't feel I should have to whenever I'm in another time zone.
Is this something tht every other phone for the last x years has done but the BB doesn't? Oh, and I have Cingular service.

Does the cingular version have just a white screen or Can you change it?

I'm new to the Blackberry, I've just got the Pearl w/T-Mobile.

I thought that the device would already have a map preloaded? If I'm mistaken is there a free download for a general map that is not to generic?

P.S. I not asking about the GPS, I have small idea of how that works with the purchase of the GPS bluetooth adapter.

I have to tell you that up until receiving my Pearl, I wa a dyed in the wool Q person.....it had everything I needed ; BUT the email push I needed for work.....OMG......this 8100 Pearl is the real deal...I am a technocrat and NOT easily impressed by much until now...This unit is a homerun out of the box.........Push mail; voicedialing....contact database.....very good reception(even in a fringe area)....I'm verrrry impressed...nice job!

So, my co-worker was trying to figure out if the pearl has flight mode or not. I couldn't find anything personally, which I thought was odd considering the BlackBerry's were one of the first to have something like flight mode, at least from what I have been told.

Anyone have any ideas?

So I got the pearl today, I was told that because I have hotmail PLUS I can get it on my cell. I pay for the blackberry package, but I can't get my hotmail on my phone. I've been google'ing the crap out of this and nothing is helping! People say to forward my email to a gmail account, however hotmail won't allow you to forward it anywhere!!!!

so i just got the white pearl today and i cant find any ringtones for it besides t-mobiles does anyone know where I can find some free ringtones or find a software that i can buy an download to get ringtones mp3 ringtones. next question the browser that i have doesnt really let me do much on the internet i had the sidekic before and i was able to upload pictures from my phone and stuff does anyone know if and how i can do that on my pearl? let me know it'll really help thanks peoples.
