Samsung SYNC SGH-A707

I'm thinking about getting this phone. What is the range on the bluetooth? According to Wikipedia, since it has Bluetooth 2.0, it's range is up to 100m.

So this phone has been out for a month or so, and I still can't find any body-glove style cases for the phone that will still allow you to use the phone.

I'm looking for a case that will allow the phone to open and close, and will allow for using the MP3 buttons on the front of the phone.

Anybody got any luck yet finding a case like this, or even one that you like that's moderately useful?

when i buy this phone, do i have to pick between a gsm or cdma plan? or can i have both?

I obviously know how to add words to the T9 dictionary, but does anyone know of a way to edit it/remove words from it? I have searched the instructions up and down and cannot find a way to do that. I have some words that pop up as defaults and it really pisses me off (example- it wants to say '86' instead of 'to'). I hate having to scroll to get to the default word.
Any suggestions other than a master reset?

i just got approved for Cingular network service (leaving T-Mobile's Dash with its slow EDGE) and not sure which phone to get between the A707, the Blackjack and the Z620. from what i've read, all three are fine phones, but not sure about some characteristics of the phone, as they apply to my user needs. so, i would appreciate your input.

Edge is super slow, to me. i do a lot of: surfing the web (NBA.com primarily), taking pictures and videos of my kids (indoors & out), will stream music and videos from "myorb.com" (wonderful site), download ringtones from "theringtonemaker.com" (another awesome site), view UFC fights and cartoons (kids) on expansion card, listen to music on my Jabra 620 bluetooth stereo headphones.

Just got this phone today. Opera mini won't work on it and neither will the Gmail java app. VERY disappointed in that...if someone knows how to get these programs to work I would appreciate it. If not, the phone is going back.

Is the Mobitv service worth it on this 3G phone? Another thing is Mobitv a live TV transmission or is it like Cingular Video clips?

I just got this phone 2 days ago and I'm having issues already! 😳 I used the # key to switch from ring to vibrate like I've always done with all the Samsungs I've owned. For some weird reason, this phone freezes up when doing this!!! I can't even turn if off. After I took the battery out for like 1 minute, and it was still frozen when it turned back on. After about 3 hours of waiting, it started working again. How weird???!?!!?!?! Has anyone had this problem yet???? 👀

Has anybody used a 2gb micor card yet in there phone yet? Not for sure if it will read in it or work. I have the 1gb but that doesn't hold much when you have songs one there. I use to have a 2gb for my W810i and now I'm spoiled with the size??? Help before I waste my money on it.. Thanks a bunches...

On most phones I have had, the clock showed up on the external screen all the time. I can't get it to do that on this Samsung. When the screen dims, it goes completely black. Am I missing something? I don't want to have to open the phone just to see what time it is. Thanks for any help.

hello. I just bought this phone, and i have an Apple computer. I figured out how to get MP3's on it using the bluetooth. But i need to know which MP3 to ringtone converter to use that will download on a Mac, if you have any that will work, plz help.

and if it has you "chose an application" to run it from...what should i choose?

is true that the a707 wont let you do anything if you are using mp3 player? have multitask a707? the flash in the camera really works there are some phones with flash but is a fake flash don't light enough in the dark can you take a picture in dark rooms what, features have the camera in 707. how looks the menu ?

If my phone is broken, and I bought it for $50 at the time, and it's been less than a year since I got it, can I trade it in for a phone of equal value (i.e. this phone)? Do I have to trade it in for the phone that I have?

Do you really need to buy the CD that goes with the USB cable? I was thinking buying a cheaper USB cable off ebay, and it doesn't come with a CD, would that be ok?

I have kind of a ridiculous question: Does anyone know how many colors the A707 external screen supports? I played with the phone the other day at a Cingular store and it was really blurry. Thanks for any help given.

I am having problems connecting to my computer through usb. It used to work all the time. Now wen i plug it into the computer it does not work. It still works on the samsung program though, but the screen doesn't go black saying "connected" like it usually does. does anyone know y this is happening?


Also, ring tones are not working. I used a program called "mp3 to ringtone" and made a ringtone then put it into my phone using windows media player. I could select it to be a ringtone there. I see a lot of misinformation about this: the transflash card slot is spring loaded. Mine pops out with ease. Took me a bit to get used to it, but it works!
