Samsung SYNC SGH-A707

Would someone please briefly list the major differences between these two phones to help me decide which to get.

I really don't need music at all, or camera (much); I need a phone that works well: has excellent signal capture, excellent sound, and good battery life.

I was also considering the CU400, but seem to have narrowed the choice to Sync and CU500.

I have recently got the A707 and like the phone so far. Except, for the fact that the phone does not ring when somebody calls. I use the factory installed tones and still no deal. When check the profile to see if the ring volume the ringtone is still muted. I exchanged the phone thinking the unit was bad but I just found my replacement doing the same thing. I am wondering if the this is a clitch that can be fixed or should I just get a another a707, or forget this phone and replace it with something completely different. Thanks...

PS: I am also wondering if the network it is on has an effect on it. It seems to happen when it is on the EDGE network. Possiblity???

Okay so I went and bought the sync a couple of days ago and the cingular rep replaced my 64k sim with the 3g sim. Out where I live in Queen Creek arizona Cingular still has some pretty big dead zones like at the Wal Mart, but my old phone would lock onto T Mobiles tower without any problem. Now with this phone and sim I cant get any service inside the Wal Mart and the dead zone around it, has Cingular eliminated roaming with T Mobile with the new sim, because that would really suck since cingular still has some work to do on getting its arizona network up to T Mobiles level.Does anyone know whats goin on because I might return the phone and sim if I end up losing coverage because of it.

I am haveing a problem putting my downloaded ringtone for when i recieve text messages, can any body me?

how long is the talk time and standby time on this phone?

...but the new Cingular commercial with "Rock the Casbah", shows a different, cooler visualization when playing music, then what the phone actually has.

I thought most phones had voice dial these days. My brother in law was almost the exact same Samsung phone except his is a slide phone. My question is, if my phone doesn't have voice dial does that mean my bluetooth headset won't have it? I just got this phone and just got a new headset and was looking forward to having that voice dial option. Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks.

Has anyone else had problems with using PC Suite? I downloaded the latest version, am using a genuine Samsung USB cable, and followed the directions to the letter, but the software does not seem to work.
It will read as "connected" on my PC, the phone will be charging, and the PC Suite will be open, but when I try to select the contact manager or file manager, it freezes up and gives an error message like "PC Suite is running another programme that is time consuming- please try later" and then crashes and Windows asks me if I want to send an error regarding the phone editor. I have tried it freshly booted before any other programs have loaded, tried to uninstall and reinstall, and still the exact same thing. The sound editor on the PC Suite...

i can't seem to get an mp3 to work as a message tone is it possible?

Has anyone successfully hooked up this phone to a laptop for internet access? I'd really appreciate any insight/instructions on how to do this. Thanks!

Other than downloading them via the internet, is their some other way to get all those free downloadable java games on to the phone? ie using PC Studio or otherwise? Thank you.

Hello all, i got this phone about two weeks ago, and about a week after i got it, i started hearing a click when i opened the flip. Not only did i hear a click, but i could feel something when i opened it too. It seems like something is getting caught when i open the flip. It hasnt stopped yet. The only problem is, i cant return it and get a new one, because i already cut off the UPC label for the rebate. Is anyone else having this problem? and how can i get a new one without being charged a restocking fee?

when i press the button on the side the display wont light up... unless i hold it down then it takes me to the media/camera/profile. if i hit the button shouldn't the display show?

The same DATA cable that I bought for $24.99 the same cable that I would use to transfer music?

... I'm guessing that the DATA cable is only used to jump online with ... HELP!

Anybody know how to turn off email alerts. The constant beep..beep...beep. New phone to me, I made the mistake of checking emails, and now every time an email arrives in my account that constant beep...beep...beep buggin' me.
