Can the BlackJack hook up to a printer?

Is there any support with Linux and the Blackjack? I don't have the option of using wine and emulating activesync, so I need something else. I have had little success with Synce, but nothing useful. Support for Ubuntu would be great, but I'll take generics.

Does any one else have a problem with dust gettin underneath the screen on their Blackjacks?

I'm hoping someone can help with my problem. I'm using Windows XP home edition with SP2. Installed Activesync 4.2 from the installation disc but when I connect my blackjack through USB, it says "your device was not detected."

I feel like I've tried everything. I disabled both my Windows Firewall and McAfee Virus Scan. I don't have any VPN software. I tried Activesync 4.5, but still the same error. If I set the storage card to Mass Storage Device, my pc can detect it fine and I can transfer files back and forth. But when I set the storage card back to Activesync, it can't be detected by Activesync. It does show up in the device manager though under Network Adapters as a Windows Mobile Device.

Hey Guys,

I got my blackjack unlocked in US before i travelled to India. Now when i put in a Sim card here in India, it doesnt get activated...it says no service. Isnt the phone supposed to switch between bands or do i need to configure it to the band used in India. If the later how do i do that.

I am thinking about buying this phone. How good is this phone in respect to pulling a signal in difficult areas? Does this phone come with 1 or 2 batteries? There is talk of a second battery in the review here. The Cingular site says you get 5.5 hours of talk time and the review says 3 hours

Does anyone know if one can install version 6.0 on a blackjeck that has 5.0? I am about to get the blackjack this weekend.

Anyone using their Samsung Blackjack with PDAnet?

If so were there any special setting you had to make for the Blue-Tooth DUN to work?

anyone know how to change the alarm tone to an mp3. you cant browse for it or anything. i tried moving it to the windows folder and it still couldnt get it...... also the instant message notification. i made my profile normal and set the im notification to vibrate and it still wont vibrate when i get an instant message. anyone know? thanks

I just bought my Blackjack, and I've got to get all my old contacts into it because I need to return my old phone for a discount.

I'd like to use the PC to make it easier. I know I'm supposed to use Outlook and then Sync, but I can't get it to work (I can transfer files, so the hardware/connection is fine).

Any tips on that? Or, any 3rd party apps specifically for editing contacts?

Any help is greatly apprecited.

Is it possible to activate Good-Link Email without having to go through cingular? I have the Corporate PIN for my company's Good Server. Can anybody tell me the process of how it's done? I'd like to remain on the $19 Media-Net Plan that I'm on and not have to upgrade to the $35 Unlimited Plan. Thanks.....

I was told by the person at Cingular who sold this phone to me that I can actually watch TV on this phone. Is this true? and if so...How do I do this?

Does anyone have any idea as to if Samsung/Cingular will eventually be updating the phone to include Mobile 6 or will there be a new version of the phone coming out?

My contract is up Feb 18th and I don't want to buy into it when a NEW Mobile 6 just came out...

Hi all,

i am writing from Germany. I just got my Samsung Blackjack from Cingular twwo days ago. The phone is not avaiable in Germany so i orderd it via ebay.

Two little problems i can´t fix (hope someone can help me)

(1) When i turn on the phone, after i complete the PIN query, i get an error message "Unknown SIM status (Error0)". I have to press the "Done" button an after a few seconds everything is working fine. Anyone know how to get rid of this error-messsage?

(2) If i turn off the BJ completely (or just switch of the "Phone mode" in the "wireless manager" the time an date are lost every time.
All other things are saved, only time and date will be lost.

Are there any relations between these two problems?

When I'm searching for contacts by typing on the QWERTY keyboard, the phone acts like I'm typing on an ordinary 9-digit keypad. example: If type "J" ... it brings up all the "J","K", and "L"'s. If i wanted "K", I would have typed "K". Anyone know a fix ???

Or do I need to get a separate device/software for it? I am thinking about picking it up this weekend, but I need to know if you guys recommend this. Also, does it come with the newly released Mobile 6?

Since the Blackjack has infrared on it for beaming, is it possible to have a remote for a tv on it?

I'm using Activesync to sync to two calendars, on two different machines. The problem I'm having is:

I sync to Calendar A - some appointments are moved on the machine of calendar A. When I sync to it again - the calendar on machine A reverts the appointments back to what is listed on my Blackjack - rather than updating my Blackjack with the new appointment times.

Is there a way to avoid this?
