LG enV2 (VX-9100)

Under sound settings/service alerts I have Charge Complete set to ON but have never heard anything. Is there supposed to be a noticeable audible alert?

Is there a secret menu for this phone? When I do ##program it says no secret menu. Thanks.

I use the notepad section on my phone alot and I have noticed that periodically the notes disappear. Has anyone else had this problem?

I love the EnV2 -- but in mobile web email -- using hotmail, how do you reply to messages?

Also, I can't see the folders besides the inbox. Soft keys don't help.

There has to be something easy that I'm missing.

I've had 3 phones. july5, july15,july25.

dont recv all my TXT/IM/phone calls(all 3)

powercycles when on calls (1st and 3rd)

when recv more than 1 IM from different users it power cycles (all 3)

periods of random data sessions that prevent me from getting calls and accessing mobile web (all 3)

called tech went through the motions, no one can get me a str8 answer as to my problem.

anyone experience any of these issues or have any suggestions besides throwing the phone into a tree shredder?

Does anyone know where you can find more animated wallpapers for the enV2 other than the 2 basic ones that come with the phone in the fun animation section? Any help would be appreciated.

My daughter just got this phone yesterday. She loves it but is having some issues with texting. A few of the texts she has sent have been received as a jumble of symbols instead of what she sent. She is sending texts to the same people she sent to when she had her old phone and never had a problem before. Any suggestions 😕 Thanks!

i go to play a song and sometimes it says "player error, unable to play [name of song]." or something like that.

it happened for the first time today. the problem went away when i turned the phone off and then on again. but then, just a second ago, i went to listen to something and it happened again. same message. this time turning the phone on and then off again didn't help.

any thoughts on what causes this or what to do to fix it?

The charging port on my 8600 broke out. Lucky for me, I am NE2 eligible in 5 days.

Considering between env2 & choc 3. I played with both in the store, and neither seem to allow me to enter a text note into the Email2 contacts field. It seems they have placed an edit on this field to be in email address format.

This was a disappointment to me. Does anyone know of a way to hack/remove this Email2 validation check?

Can BitPim be used to place an address into the Email2 contacts field?--it would be great if someone could test this for me as I am unable to do so without owning the phone.

I constantly read the reviews for this phone and I've decided i'm going to get it. The only thing left to decide is whether to get it in black or maroon. 🤨 What do you think and why? thanks!

Basically this is really handy.
It gives you direct access to your memory card like it's a memory card on your computer.

Put in a micro SD(8GBhc in my case) card,
Plug in a micro usb cable (In my case I used a mini usb cable that fits Motorola Phones and Blackberry phones with the $5 adaptor I bought to be able to use all my mini USB chargers), go to 'settings and tools,8 is USB auto detection, select 'sync data'. back out go to 'tools' and highlight #9 'USB Mass storage'.

Plug the usb cable into the phone and computer and hit 'ok'. shortly you'll have another 'removable disk' under 'my computer'.

If it asks about finding drivers let it find it 'once' but delete all options, then when it installs the default drivers, that's the ...

I still have very few programs to choose from in Get-it-now or I guess Media Center. Will Verizon keep adding programs available on other phones to the enV2?

My gf has the first enV and has all sorts of neat things, like a song finder program to help find ring tones. Hold it to a speaker so it can hear the song, and it finds it and tells you the name and artist. Not available on my phone.

Even old programs that I had on my 8100 that I can't get on my new one. Like MyCast Weather that I had before. Loved that, thought it was much better then the only choice I have now - AccuWeather. Cheaper too.

If you have the Vcast Music Manger installed on your computer, now is a good time to check for updates. Vcast has partnered with Rhapsody and, as a result, we get a much improved player. Finally, it is now possible to create a playlist with the new Vcast Music Manager and then transfer that playlist to your phone. Previously if you tried to do that only the songs would transfer, not the actual playlist.

What this means (for me at least) is that we now have a more practical way to access our music without opening the phone. Unless you open the phone, the Env2 only allows you to browse your files by playlist or by song title. Only when you open the phone can you browse by artist, album, etc...

Has anyone found a lucite case for the env 2?

When you are texting when the keyboard is closed why is there no "back" button? Or am I confused? There is only the "up" and "down" keys. 😕

Hey:

A friend and I are constantly sending video clips back and forth. However, lately I am unable to view or send *some* of them.

What happens is...

1. I receive the text with video attached.
2. I hit play to view video.
3. Instead of playing the video, the phone reacts as if I hit the "reply" key. The only way I can view the video is if I forward the video and then use the "Preview" option. Additionally, there is no way to save these videos. The "save video" option does not appear. This does not happen with every video but it is happening more and more.

Anyone else having this problem? It has happened on my current phone and the one I had to exchange for a software issue three days ago.

Any advice?

10 days of "what ? are you still there ? where did you go ? hello, you there ?" really wore me down

and, even at full volumes, the earpiece is barely OK

it isn't the reception - 3-4 bars all the time, it's the design

if you cup your hand pefectly under the phone, to channel your voice - people hear you fine, deviate, even a little, and they think you are gone.

there is ONE sweet spot to listen to the earpiece, deviate, even a little, and the volume drops 3dB

it's is absolutely the best keyboard i have ever used on a phone - it just doesn't work very good as a phone .......

the lack of an intelligent locking feature, either easy access to SECURITY LOCK, or less stupid "ANYTHING-OK" to release the key...

just a question
im deciding whether or not to return this phone for another env2

i fully charged the phone at 11am sunday morning

by 3 pm monday afternoon i was down from 4 bars to three bars (and this with very light to moderate use)

factor in i have my backlight external and internal screens set to 30 seconds and the bluetooth off.

Would you guys think that with all these factors the battery is a dud and i should get another? or should i try it again with the backlight settings at 7 seconds and play it by ear? and advice is appreciated

Anyone see a reason why this wouldn't work to connect the enV2 to a computer?
