Found a great bundle here...

The phone is Unbranded and Never Locked so I can use it with T-Mobile, Cingular, AT&T, FIDO, Rogers, etc... no matter where I go in the world.

New v600 version

I received a new v600 via warranty replacement from AT&T. My original phone was purchased around the June timeframe. I've noticed some differences I'd like bounce off the folks in this forum for feedback:

Old phone:
1) SW: 0B.09.2DR
2) Under network setup the speed is set to Continuous.
3) Black rubber circle left of speaker on back.

New phone:
1) S/W: 0B.09.2FR
2) Under network setup the speed is set to Medium.
3) Grey rubber circle left of speaker on back, inset somewhat.

Feedback?

Which should the network speed be set to?

Thank you in advance!

Need V600 Box Barcode Copy

I signed up for AT&T service with A1 Wireless, the phone was Motorola V600. A1 offers rebate, but one of the items they required is the photo barcode on the V600 package box, which I accidentally and carelessly threw away. If you have the AT&T Motorola V600 box, could you please scan the barcode and e-mail me at danielfchen@yahoo.com. I greatly appreciate it.

Touchy volume/voice keys

Every time I reach into my bag to grab the V600, it makes that annoying chirping noise. This is because it seems so ridiculously easy to bump the external volume rocker key (up or down), therfore activating the external ring alert adjustment screen. Is this an unfortunate oversight from Motorola or can you prevent this from happening?

Same with the voice key on the opposite side - always being bumped and asking me to say something...then say it again louder! Give me a break. A phone should be bump proof when it's closed. I'd like to know if anyone else finds this a frustrating quirk on an otherwise great phone.

text message to e-mail address(T-Mobil)

Has anyone had any success sending a text message or a text message with a picture to an e-mail address? I have been trading e-mails with the tech support at T-Mobil for several days and either they don't read the question, ignore the question and answer something completely off the wall or ask me to repeat the same thing that I just did that didn't work. I'd like to be able to take a picture with the camera and be able to send it to an e-mail address since not everyone can receive picture w/text messages.

Selling a brand new V600 for AT&T

I haven't seen others do this on here so I'm not sure if this is an appropriate method for selling.
I received a brand new replacement phone from LockLine due to my old phone being lost.
Long story short, it took weeks for my phone to be replaced with this service and I couldn't wait so I bought a 6820 which I like much better than the V600.

So I'm selling this new, NOT refurbished, complete phone in-box for $250 shipped to anyone in the lower 48 states.

If this is permissible to sell on here and you're interested in buying my phone please contact me, joelmikle, at my hotmail account.

GPRS Questions

I have a Laptop and a T-Mobile Motorola V600. I know I can use the V600 as a modem to call my Internet Service Provider (ISP) and only use up my air time but the speed is rather slow (about 10 kbps).

I've been told that to access T-Mobile GPRS network I have to dial *99#. Do I just use air time to use GPRS or do I have to sign up for some data plan? How fast is GPRS? Also, what carrier has the access code of *99***3#.

Thank you very much for any response.

Instructions for use as bluetooth modem with tmobile

It took two visits to as many stores and over three hours in total for the T-Mobile staff to figure out how to let me use the v600 as a bluetooth GPRS modem, so I thought I'd share the pertinent bits and hopefully save someone else the time.

There are two pieces of information you really need: The "Phone number" and the modem initialization string.

Phone number: *99***2#
Initialization string: at+cgdcont=2,"IP","internet2.voicestream.com"

On my system (XP SP2), you get to the modem initialization string by:
Control Panel
Phone and Modem Options
Modems
[Select the bluetooth modem]
Properties
Advanced

V600 SIM card phone book

I just backed up my phonebook to my SIM card. Now all contacts appear when I go to the phone book.

Can I hide the SIM entries? Otherwise I will have to erase them - it's too big of a pain, and I already have them backed up on my laptop anyway.

Thanks.

v600 bluetooth to another v600 ???

Anyone connected two v600 via bluetooth? My wife and I both have v600's and they won't find each other. This is not a big deal but the v600 will send contacts via bluetooth. I also remember when I had my SE t637 they wouldn't connect either ?

My Love/HATE for the V600

First off let me say I've read every concievable forum and thread on this phone..I know EVERYTHING there is to know about the V600...I have educated myself to the highest degree for many reasons....I know about the recall...Cingulars changing policies on replacing the phone...but heres my dilema...I love this phone and everything it can do...BUT...I CANNOT handle the weak low volume, low db earpiece when you listen to a caller....thats where I HATE this phone....you can throw out all the other crap because just struggling to hear is ridiculous...I KNOW I KNOW..turn up the volume..trust me when I say Ive turned up the volume 6,764 times sub-consciencely because it bugs me so...I know Cingular will replace it for a V400...WHY BOTHER!!...Read fo...

New V600's Being Shipped Now!

If you are one of the people waiting to get a replacement V600 (after the discontinuation on August 1 for 850 MHz problems), the NEW handsets are in stock at Cingular and they are shipping overnight at no charge. This is only an exchange for the defective units that did not meet Cingular's standards and caused occassional dropped calls. They will not exchange it if your's was physically damaged any way such as being dropped or exposed to water.

You do not call the regular Customer Service to do this exchange, they have a dedicated line at 1-800-201-6235.

I also understand they will be back in the stores by this weekend.

These are factory new, not refurbished units. The nice part is that you keep your charger, battery, & SIM and send...

v600 wins out over SE T637

I struggled with which phone to get. I needed bluetooth so that really narrows the choices. I got the SE T637 and loved it until...... everyone I talked to while I was in the car asked if was on the way to the moon. The 637 microphone is overly sensitive. I called my house and left a message while I was in the car and the noise was terrible. My wife had already gotten the v600 and when she talks to me from the car it sounds like she was just sitting in the livingroom. So I took back the 637 and got the v600. Couldn't be happier. Yes Moto has it's little quirks but I have quickly learned to work around them. The really strange thing is that even my Jabra 250 even is quieter on the v600 ???? The v600 seems to have a noise reduction circuit and...

Please help - this or Samsung e316?

I like the look/feel of the V600, whereas the Samsung feels/looks like a "girl phone" with tiny buttons. . .But I've heard BAD things about "Motorola Phones" so please help.

I went to an AT&T store, and the employees all had V600s, and the guy said they were fine.

Is it true the phone book doesn't let you store more than one number per contact? I have no idea what to do. Please help.

Thank You
