what is the differnece between the v551 and the z500 compared to my v400...
im wanting a new phone and i need to know what phone is the best.

Hey I was wondering if any else is having problems sending pics to other phones that don't have the same service. I can receive pics from sprint phones but apparently I can't send them. I read something about pixtopix.com, but i think that only works if the receiver has it. Any help????

How can I do this with my v551? I say to send file, and accept it on my phone but it doesnt send.

At first I thought the advantage of saving to SIM might be if the phone lost power (aka, battery dies...) only the data on the SIM would survive, but then I removed my battery and the saved contacts from the phone were still there as well - unless I didn't wait long enough for the stored charge to die?

So... what are the advantages or disadvantages of saving to Phone vs Sim or visa-versa?

i have sent a trial download ringtone from motorola.com, but how do i receive the text mesasge. i havent received it yet for a week already. i dont it will t ake this long.

My battery says this I bought the phone in feb after reading threads should i have the 820? and should i take this back and adv them to give me the other battery?? Thanks in advance for your help

Does anybody have any tips to avoid people trying to connect to my phone while I'm using bluetooth or getting a virus on the v551? Is there something in the security options that I should do?

Is there a way to make the phone book only show contacts 1 time instead of from the SIM and phone book? I have tried to copy the contacts from phone to SIM & vice-versa. I have selected primary contacts & that does not work. I have multiple listings for SIM & Phone book. This is so irritating!! Any suggestions?

I am frequently calling abroad and I am using prepaid calling cards.

The manual of V-551does not show how to store in the phone book an entry for a calling card like:

1-800-xxx-xxxx / pause / {calling card PIN number}.

I will appreciate, if a user of V-551 can confirm that the calling card storing / dialing feature is implemented in the phone.

I know this question is not about Motorola cell phones, but I think this forum is not a bad place to ask.

I used to have the $69/month Sprint family plan, which would actually cost about $77 per month after taxes and fees added. Now I switched to the $79/month Cingular family plan, and its monthly bill is about $100 with taxes and fees.

Do taxes and fees differ from company to company?

I'm used to the Sidekick II and the Treo, both of which deliver e-mail way faster. Yahoo Mail takes 3 to 4 minutes, just to find out the titles of the messages you have.

Maybe I'm not getting edge in my area? I certainly should be, downtown Birmingham al.

V557: Another update to the V551 handset. This time adding Push to Talk. Still includes a VGA camera, Bluetooth, EDGE and will also be the first to feature SCREEN3. Due out second quarter.

Is there a way to put the date, probably in a mm/dd/yy format, like there was on the old T720/730 phones?

Sorry if this is found in the manual, but that thing is a POS and if anybody learned a thing from that waste of paper I'd be suprised.

I am looking for hands free kit for this phone. Does most of the hands free kit have a call answer button which I can use to answer the call while I am driving or the flip have to open.

What's bluetooth handsfree or without bluetooth works best for this model. I looked at Jabra EarWave Boom.

well i have a bluetooth usb adoptor and able to conncet my phone to it as welli hav v547 i can send anything from my computer to my phone but can not send pic or video to my computer .. it always says transfer rejected .. can any one plz tell me what can i do for it ?

Is there a way to remove factory installed pix? They take up so much room on the phone and I don't know how to unlock them to delete them.

My wife uses her V551 phone only for occasional calls, and I use mine for occasional calls, about average of 7 SMS per day, and few YIM chats and web browsing per week.

Our battery life are after fully charged over a night:
- My wife's: have 2 bars (4 battery meters) after 3 days
- Mine: battery low sign after 1 1/2 days

As you can see, for sure, depending on how you use your phone, the battery life varies a LOT. Hopefully, this info will help you guys to figure out or compare your battery life. :-)

BTW, we bot have the same battery 780 ones, which I understand now (from another theread) that it does not last as long as 820 one. ☹️

Does anyone know where/what website I can find some good Trip-Hop ringtones? I heard this girls phone going off this morning in class, we were taking a test I couldnt ask her where she got it from. I have always searched but the only categories are rock, hip hop, alternative, and other crap. How about trip-hop? I'd love to have a Bjork or Massive Attack ringtone on my phone....
