Motorola V551 / V330 / V547 / V555 / V557

Hello All,

I am considering getting this phone. I currently have a HP pcoket PC. I would like to be able to dial my numbers via bluetooth. I would also like to get a bluetooth headset. I have heard this it may or may not work......at least not at the same time is this true?

what is the lastest software ver for the v551 mine is R47-G-08.17.OFR-01 GO TO SETTING THEN PHONE STATUS THEN OTHER INFORMATION THEN S/W VER.

Does anyone know how to change what the exterior (second) LCD screen says when this phone is open?

Mine currently says Cingular, and I'm not a Cingular customer, I just bought the unlocked phone for my provider.

I would love to personalize it.

I dropped my cell phone today in a parking lot, it got scratched pretty badly. Does anyone know where I could get that same face plate and antenna? they were both terribly scratched. Help!

Well after my 4th defective V220, Cingular finally decided to ship me the V551. But I was wondering what kind of charger is uses? Is it like the V400 and V505, where the charger is 2 pronged (like the old T720/721?) Or is it like the V220's where the charger is a single plug? I am just wondering because I have 2 of the V220 chargers.

I have a data cable and can upload from my phone to ical but can't download from computer to phone. Any ideas? Thanks.

BTW--had to return original phone because of non-existant battery life but no trouble synching. This has slightly better battery, but after downloading original calendar it overwrites everything on the phone when I try to synch. tx

I have read a bunch of the threads about batt. life just wondering if you could give it in hours how long i should expect?

I have a v551, i exchanged the orginal batt. for a cingular brand one. On the factory batt. i was getting maybe 24hrs till totally dead with 30 min of talk time.

On the cingular batt. I am getting 36hours till totally dead with 1 hour of talk time.

Is this it? should i be getting more? is it time to exchange phones? Can others post about how many hours of batt life they are getting?

Does any 1 know how to unlock ringtones from a motorola phone like the v505 and the v551. I am wondering this because I need to transfer them to my new phone and I don't want to buy them again so if I get them unlocked I can transfer them easily.

I am going to ask for a new phone today as my battery life sucks. Exchange battery and still 36hours on a charge with less than 1 hour of talk time.

Question is: I bought a blackjack game from the media center, can i transfer that game to the new phone they will be sending me?

I was just wondering how much space you guys have in ur phone because my phone came with just over 6mbs of space and my other friend came with just under 7mbs of space?

Is the v551 compatable, with the HS 810? different sites tell me different things..

Does anyone know how a name can be voice stored in the phonebook? I have been trying to figure it out from the useless manual that comes with this phone. And does Cingular charge to utilize this option? As in is this an extra service?
