Motorola V551 / V330 / V547 / V555 / V557

I Still have at&t wireless, and have not yet switched to cingular, and about a month ago i decided to get the v551, and when i got it, it had cingular buttons, cingular wallpapers screansavers, cingular is allllll over the phone when i still have at&t, so did they sell me the wrong phone or something?
The phone works fine but some things like "skins" donut work, is that because its a cingular phone?

Ok I bought the 3.0 phone tools. I don't see anywhere or any way to back up or sync over to my computer my voice recordings and alos the pictures for my picture ID. ??? Does anyone know how? I reistered and then I find that you have to buy the Deluxe version? To do transfer over recordins and pictures and make ring tones, which is what I thought the 3.0 version did, but it seems that it is the light version. Does anyone know what the hell is going on and why I never saw anything on here about 3.0 being the on I need not the deluxe??

Motorola is pimping out their software package, but that's as expensive as the phone, can you just buy the usb cable and use some freebie software (or a reasonably priced 3rd party)?

Also, I think I know the answer already, but is the memory expandable in any way?

I attempted to send a picture message to my e-mail address today, however, when I go to send it, I first get a question that asks "Connecton to server required. Connect now?" and then after choosing yes, I get an immediate error message that states "Cannot connect. Setup incomplete."

Now, I'm able to access the web just fine on my phone, and I have the basic media package that allows for picture messaging and the like. Is there something special that needs to be done in order to get this to work?

Also, I do have the data cable & Phone Tools, is there a way I can extract the picture from my phone that way and just simply add it to my desktop? This, of course, would be better than e-mailing myself, but I suppose an answer to either-or wo...

I did the replacement by mail because my old phone was giving me major problems. I have had the v551 that they sent in the mail 8 days now and it is also giving me problems like changing from vibe to ring and making strange noises when it charges. I also experience shorter battery life than usual. I looked at one of the threads about the software version. They sent me the exact same software version that I had before. I called the replacement number and the rep. told me that the phones had been checked and that the phone that came in the mail had been updated but they didnt change the readings on the phone. Should I call again and try to get some type of upgrade or is there some type of other solution? 😕

Hey ev1! How can I get more skin options on the V551? I'm new to this site. I've got Cingular demo line thru my company and I'm a rep in Houston. 🤣

Does anyone know whether it's possible to replace the HELLOMOTO image with all the colorful circles that you see upon powering up the phone to something of one's own choosing?

And if it is possible, how?

I have a v551 and i have everybody with nice ringtones. When I'm using the headset i only get the standard continental ringtone. Does anybody knows how to change that? If i used the headset i can only hear that annoying ringtone?

When i had my BT250 paired with my old Sony Ericsson t616 both phone and headset would be in standby mode until a call came in or I woul hit the answer/end button on the headset, conserving battery life.
With my new V551 it seems to always be connected.
Is my new phone faster at making the standby mode active and I am just trippin?
Any help would be great. Thank you in advance.

On the back of the box theres a feature called photo fun i guess its like clip art, well i went through the whole phone and didn't find any photo fun,....some help// 🤣

I have a Voice Record on my phone that I would like to put on the computer. I would even like to listen to it out load, like on the speakerphone. Is there a way to do any of these?

I recently left Sprint for Cingular and got a motorola v551 phone. I currently belong to a download site called 3gwiz.com and like it very much. I was able to download great ringers to my old samsung v1000 without any problem. When I went to download the ringtones to my new phone, it said the .qcp file format and mp3 format are not supported for my phone. Does anyone know what to do about this? I e-mailed the site for tech support, but so far I am still waiting.

On sale on Cingular website 49.99. Just to let anyone know that maybe considering.
