Palm Treo 650 (GSM)
Is this a good multimedia phone in addition to being a good phone for a college student?
Does it record voice from a distance? I want to be able to record my lectures. How is the video playback? Thanks a lot.

Depending on how much money you're willing to spend, it could be costly. It has great applications, such as word and excel that would be great in the classroom with a wireless keyboard. Then, you could just sync it with your desktop at home. Its very much like if you were going to buy a pocket PC except the fact that you don't have to carry a phone as well. Dan's cellular accessories on ebay has oem products for the treo 650 at reasonable prices if you should decide to get it. you may be able to purchase and download some type of software that will let you record lectures. The recorder on the treo out of the box has the basic voice recorder but not long enough for 50 or 75 minute lectures.
