Watch movies on Samsung A950

I found a way to convert and watch movie files on the samsung a950. You first need to to buy yourself a microSD/TransFlash to SD adapter card. Next, you'll need the ImTOO 3GP Video Converter. You'll need to buy it so don't ask me for a serial number. It comes with a free trial so if you like it buy it. Just type it in google and it will come up.

Place the micro SD in the phone. The phone will create 4 folders on the card that you won't be able to see until you put the card in a card reader. The folders will be as follows My_Flix, My_Music, My Pix, My_Sounds. Once this is done, open the ImTOO 3GP Video Converter. Go to File/Add and pick the video file you wish to convert. If you want your file to play at a ...

2 questions

I just got the 950 and have 2 questions, neither of which I have found in the manual.

Is there a way to turn the light that is used as the flash on to use as a flashlight?

Also, the button on the side that turns the camera on and then takes pictures gets pushed in my pocket sometimes, so that i end up with pictures of my pocket. It's annoying to have multiple black pictures end up saved on my phone and I'm sure it drains the battery as well. Is there any way to disable this button?

Is anyone using the Cardo Scala 500 bluetooth headset?

If so, please share the pros and cons you've encountered with it so far. A friend of mine has one for her Razr and loves it, but I'm not sure whether it's compatible with the Samsung A950 or not. I had considered purchasing the Jabra BT350, but Jabra's compatability chart states that it's not compatible with the A950.

Any comments/suggestions of alternate bluetooth headsets would be appreciatedπŸ™‚

Text On Samsung

Hey all...I was just wondering if you can view the text messages from the front screen like you can on the LG 8100. I currently have the 8100 and am looking to switch to this phone. I had the RAZOR for about half a day and realized it didn't have vibrate and ring plus the ringers (default and VZW Tones) weren't that loud to begin with, so I switched back to my 8100. Any help would be great!!! Thanks and have a good day!!!....πŸ™‚πŸ™‚

Compatible Bluetooth Headsets for a950

My wife just received the a950. She wants to try out the bluetooth feature. I ordered a Motorola M500 headset off of Ebay. I read somewhere in this forum the M500 was one of the best and is compatible with the a950. Is anyone out there using this combo? If so let me know your experiences. Thanks

Returned... should I buy it again?

I got the A950 during thanksgiving weekend when it was on sale for $100. Absolutely loved the phone till I started to have major trouble with calls. The phone for 1 hour periods just would not send or receive ANY calls. Happened twice the 1st week I had the phone. I exchanged it under warranty, and the 2nd phone had a big problem with dropping calls. Exchanged it again, and 3rd phone was fine, but I was so worried I would have problems again, I just returned the phone. I didnt want to risk gettin stuck with a phone for 2 years that I had to replace twice in the 1st 15 days.... But now going through forums, it doesnt seem that anyone else was having the problems I had.... would you suggest I get the phone again? I loved it, just didnt want to...

Does anyone else have this problem...?

I keep having to reset my preference settings; specifically my wallpapers and sounds/ringtones. I'll get them set, then (presumably/inadvertently?) hit a button that resets everything to their default settings. Is it me, or is there something inherent in the software that causes this? Are there some settings I just don't know about that will preempt this? Thanks for your input...πŸ™‚

Please Explain, Help me!!!

I'm VERY interested in getting the samsung a950. But, I need some explaination. Is it or is it not an MP3 player? According to the Verizon website it is not one, yet I see posts otherwise. Also, the sale rep at the Verizon store I went to said it WAS an MP3 player. Can anyone clarify?

Using this phone as a modem?

Are you able to use this phone as a modem yet? I had a Samsung a670 and used it to get on the internet with my laptop without a problem. Does anyone know how to do this yet? I have a Mac and basically looking for the USB drivers for this? Any ideas out there?

Can MP3 files be compressed any smaller?

I'd like to be able to squeeze as many songs as possible onto both the internal and transflash memories. If they can be compressed further using either IM TOO or Xilisoft (or some other program), which format name would I have to convert them to? And, would that format leave the sound quality intact?

Thanks in advance for whatever suggestions you can offer!

Using the Transflash

I just got the 950 a couple days ago, as well as a 512 mb Transflash card, so have been doing a lot of getting acquainted with it. I've read every thread in this forum, and picked up a lot of invaluable info - Thanks!
A couple things I've run into that I didn't find addressed in the forum yet:

1) When I transfer MP3s onto the transflash from my computer, it displays all the songs; but when I put the transflash into the phone, only four or so show up.

2)I downloaded IM TOO and used it to format some of my digital videos from my camera's SD card (avi.files)onto the Transflash, and when I put it in the phone, the picture appears along with the sound, but the picture appears as a still rather than as a movie. What format should I be con...
