Motorola RAZR V3c

What's the real deal on this phone's reliability. At two Kiosk's in our mall, one sales rep for an Alltel reseller said his broke 3 times and if he had not gotten the insurance he would have been screwed. In another booth, the rep said he would not recommend this telephone.

Both pushed the Moto 710.

What's peoples feelings about the reliability

Come on sure the phone looks hot but compared to other phones it just doesn't compare feature wise and it is not a best buy but if you must impress your friends with an inferior phone then by all means buy the razr.

Why does the nokia 6256i have full bluetooth not crippled but none of Verizon's other phones have this capability? Not even the razr has this it makes no sense. It is odd that they don't carry it in their stores either. Something is fishy. Something smells really bad.

I am not up for a contract renewal so I am going to have to pay for phone. What/where is the best price deal? I live in NYC if that matters.

Hell I just saw that the treo 700w will be out soon that is much better than the razr. You might want to buy that it can do so much more.

Do you still have to have individual entries for each contacts' number type (mobile, work, home), or does the new software allow you to finally store multiple numbers under one contact name?

Has anyone else experinced a long delay (7-8 second lag) from the time you hit the send button to when the phone actually initiates a call? I bought the phone today and this has happend to me twice already. It normally dials a number instantly, but this delay comes out of nowhere and the only fix is to power off/on.

Purchased phone at Best Buy (they had a lot in stock) and playing with it. Huge annoyance not being able to change home key buttons except for the "down" button. For me personally this is a big problem considering the customization I was able to have with my "old" v710. The fact that I can use the up button for my contacts and then hide the icons was great so when people looked at my phone they had no idea what to press to get #s. Hopefully I'll get use to it otherwise I'm going to be very upset.

Bought one in the store this morning (in san francisco). The backlight seems to turn on sporadically. I'll open it and the back light won't turn on, but after typing through the menus for a little while, it turns on. Sometimes it turns on when you open it. It's so sporadic, I know its going to work perfectly if I go to the store to show them 🙂.

How does this work for everyone else?

Other than that, I like it. Still playing with it, but so far so good.

Although the phone does not have a dedicated mp3 player the mp3 transferred from my computer plays under the get it now menu, 1. Get tunes & tones. I thought Verizon got rid of this feature. Pretty sweet that they missed it! And oh ya, I got mine online! The only thing that I really do hate is that, it has Verizon’s gay generic menus. There is a reason that I love moto. Now with this crap (menus) I am seriously thinking of regressing back to my v710. But I will agree that reception is the best I have ever heard! And yes the signal indicator is inaccurate.

There are some posts saying that it is officially launched at verizon stores, is this by region and if so is the midwest one of them? Indiana??

If I was to buy Retail, Is it $419 with a rebate or is there a rebate minus that price? Hopefully yes...who knows this?

The OBEX file transfer is definitely enabled on the Verizon V3c RAZR phones sold at the corporate stores.

Just pair the phone once, and drag files to and from the phone. Movies, ringtones, pictures, anything in the shared folders:

I just found out that the MP3 feature on the Razr will be up and running after in January, just make sure you upgrade your software in early part of the month. This is somewhat dissapointing, but I found out yesterday that verizon will be offering a new Razr this summer that includes i-tunes and removable memory. The reason they could not bring it out now, is becuase Cingular's contract with apple runs for another 3 months. But they have to wait three months for testingafter that, so it should come out sometime in june or july... More power to the ones that can wait untill this summer, but I could not.

I'm with "Sprint" and my contract is up. I'm
moving to "Verizon" as soon as I can find a phone. I have a hearing problem and can you tell me if the handset volume strong. The Razr (V3) volume was low so I've heard. Also the ringer volume.

Anyone notice the back battery cover color does not match the rest of the phone. The factory Motorola color seems to be metallic vs. the flat finish on the battery cover.

I was wondering if someone could recommend a headset, this will be my 1st bluetooth so I would like a (sound) quality experience that won't cost too much, what should I look for and does it have to be the V3c or will other models work?
p.s. Im stoked on this phone, I even splurged on the 3rd world slave labor accessory pack @ ebay, it must be love, hehe

Anyone know if the CDMA version of the RAZR offers PC synch capabilities?

The GSM versions (original V3 & new V3i) are listed as offering PC synch capabilities on Phone Scoop, but PC synch is NOT listed on Phone Scoops info list for the CDMA version RAZR V3c...

Just spoke with Best Buy in NYC. The razr (wo a contract) is $380. No rebates. They say they should go on sale in about 2 weeks.
