UTStarcom PPC-6700 / XV-6700 / HTC Apache

I am currently in Cingular and considering a change. One question, when using the 6700 (or Q or BB) - what happens if you get a call while doing an email sync (or any other data)? On Cingular the call will get through, does it get through on Verizon?

I just recently got a new XV-6700, and was told to join this forum since it is full of great information.

I am new to the Pocket PC world, and am trying to find a good site to download free Pocket PC games (other than download.com). Does anyone have any recommendations? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much!!

First, to get wifi to turn on I have to do what?

I just bought the phone, havent done anything, im typing this maybe 20 mins after i got home.

Second how do i get the phone to show me the music on the SD card?

Third, what do i have to do so i TOTALLY disable Ev-Do? I dont have the package and am not going to use it.

Thanks, so much in advance. I'm a teenager who loves technology but this is my first smart phone and im new and confused.

At some point when learning settings and selecting a photo to use as the backdrop, the phone asked me to select a level of opaqueness (spelling) for the photo/background. I selected something in the middle and the picture came up very washed out. The today screen lists everything in white lettering so it is very difficult to read.

For the life of me, I can't find the option to make the picture more/less opaque and so every picture I select is very washed out and not a good match with the white letters of the today screen.

Anyone know where I find this option? I can't find it anywhere under settings or Today.

whether the slot is there and is disabled in the software? or the hardware itself is absent.

Squinting at the mirror-like screen of my trusty Verizon VX-6700 while driving and almost killing myself trying to enter my voice mail password, I found a way to automate that.

Under the speed dial function you can edit the #86 to:

#86ppXXXX# (XXXX = your voice mail password)

Now, when the VM lady asks for the password, I can keep a steady eye on the road while some quick beeps act as the password.

The "p" is the dialing symbol for pause. Don't know if this works on all Verizon phones.

Big props to Jason at Verizon customer Service. This took about 40 minutes to figure out, but he stuck with it.

Now I maybe asking for too much, but anyone heard of a way to have the phone play music when you put a call on hold ? You would think one would have to change the primary code within the phone to able to play an audio file as opposed to mute the mic (like it does right now). Anyone heard of a software that does anything similar ?

Is a full voice dialing option available for the 6700?
I think you can get a version that lets you record voice tags for your contacts but I am looking for a voice dialer program that would work for every contact and every number in the contacts.
I'm guessing I'd have to buy something but that would be fine as long as it works.

I've had this phone about 4 days and really like it except for the lack of voice dialing.

After purchasing the XV6700 from Verizon and getting the Rom upgrade, I still experience the dark screen of dead (DSOD) 😕 😕 , I wonder if I had to do a Hard reset after installing the Rom upgrade or what? Has Anyone experience this problem, what are your solutions, please advice. TIA

When I receive a text message, the icon pops up and does that it all should do except I do not receive a sound notification.

I went into settings/sounds & notifications and checked to see what was under "messages - new text" and I can play the sound to demo it and it works fine...but no dice when I actually receive a text.

Anyone experience this?

If you already have unlimited data plan on your 6700 phone you can access high speed internet access using you phone as a modem.. do not do this if you have 10MB per Month or pay as you go because you will axceed your MB real quick and you get charged a lot...


Make sure you have this cd, came with phone.

2) go to your phone, open file explorer on your phone should be on your programs, go to My Devide then click Windows, then look for "Wmodem" file. do not confuss WModemlog with WMmodem file. You need to look for WModem. if you can't see it then click Menu bottom on lower right corner and check "Show All Files", once you do it you should see two WMo...

My wife wants to get one of these phones. She has a 2005 Toyota Prius. Can anyone tell me if it will hook up with the car blue tooth? We just found out the Treo 700w will not and do not want to spend the money if it will not do the job. Thanks

I'm gettin a phone on friday and I don't kno if I want the 6700 or a sidekick 3...I have a few a few things I have 2 find out about this phone b4 I choose it over the SK3

1)Is this phone compatible with mac? If so does
that mean I can put my music from itunes on it?

2)Is it possible 2 find apps on the internet that
