Motorola A1200 / MING

I've got this phone 2 weeks ago for $280 with T-Mobile this phone is cool, but when you turn it on its in chinese till you set it to english. The FM radio only work with wired head phone not the bluetooth on the back of the box the motorola HT820 stereo headset (got it for nothing) but I've got a plantronics voyager 510 now works great.

My A1200 should be able to play mp4 if following the spec. I want to try this out with a sample first, before digging into detail of how to convert my other video into that format.

However I googled, I could not find an mp4 which is 320 to X240, 30fps, 350kbps.

Can you let us know the link to a mp4 file you ever played back? Thanks.

can somebody help me? i just bought a motorola ming from ebay; i like the phone but the battery life is too short; it only last for about few hours; i tried to use the battery of my other motorolla battery for my motorola ming but no changes; does anyone know what the problem is, pls help!!!

i have a big problem...i installed an mtf theme with destroyed icons and now when i open my phone is always stuck in the boot image of the theme....-[on.gif]- i can put it in flash mode and i can change it's firmaware but i don't know something..-IF I CHANGE THE FIRMWARE WILL THE THEME RETURNS TO DEFAULT ????? AND WHAT FIRMWARE I MUST INSTALL [WITH RSDLITE]?????????????

I am searching the world for for your help.

I just bought the A1200 lesser than 24 hours. After complete all the set up the phone LOOKS like working great. Until 24 hours later, a problem becomes problems. May I kindly ask for your help if you know. Please and thank you kindly in advance for your knowledge and time.

(1) When im making a dial out call a pop up box comes up and says "Call Control Allowed". I went through the manual twice with no luck showing how to fix this problem. I still can make the outbound call, however, I always MUST confirm by taping on OK button when MING prompts this message.

(2) Bigger problem. I NEVER OR UNABLE TO RECEIVE any INCOMING CALLS regardless the callers is using landline or wireless...

Does anyone know where I can purchase/download any third party apps for the Ming? I'd like to have a better calendar, and just wondering if anyone knows of a better one to install. Thanks!

Does anyone know how to get the Internet service up and running for this phone on T-Mobile? I called T-mobile and Motorola, but got nothing. Also contacted the seller (plemix) who said they couldn't help either. Any help is appreciated.

I was wondering if anyone knows if the phone will work without getting an internet plan with tmobile?

I have a Motorola A1200 that Ive had about a week. When I call or receive a call I cant hear anything out of the flip up ear piece. I can hear when it is in speaker. I have not had this phone in water or dropped it. I dont know if I may have bumped something or if the earpiece is bad. Thanks

I am wanting to know how the ming performs under the tmo gprs network, plus any other issues and stuff.

Please help. I just got the motorola ming three days ago and now it'll freeze and turn off. Then turn back on at a later time. After I send a message or something and leave it alone it will freeze and I'll have to take the battery out to get it to start again.

Has anyone else had these types of problems?!

Can anyone inform me if this phone will be compatible with Verizon Wireless in Southern California?

Can anyone one tell me how can i disassemble a Motorola ming phone and use a new housing for this phone.

Just to be safe, from someone who has bought it from PureMobile or Cell Crew, people from each please respond, what does it come with? I am just wondering if I will need to buy extra if I will buy it. It is recommending the data cable with phone tools from the PM site, but I am not sure what it comes with. For those who have bought, does anyone know, or am I just blind and miss it on one of the sites? I would prefer to not buy the phone and realize I need a memory card or a charger or the install CD and connections for my computer. But if someone knows, I could use the knowledge. Thanks.

I downloaded Motorola Phone Tools onto my PC through the CD provided. It was working fine at first, then I made a mistake to switch the USB mode from Modem to Mass Storage, then ever since then, the phone tools has never worked the same. First it was saying device can't be found, meaning my phone. Then I uninstall the program and reinstalled it, it was still saying the same thing. Can someone please help me?? 😢

Hi, I installed the Motorola Phone Tools that came with the phone. During the installation process, I kept receiving these alerts telling me that the app was not approved by Microsoft. I mean *MANY* times! (perhaps 30 alert messages). Then when I try to run the tool, I receive an alert saying that the application cannot be loaded and that it is an invalid win32 application. Is anyone else having this problem? Or even better, does anyone know a solution to this? Thanks! ☹️

So I just bought this phone on ebay. Everything works perfectly except I have no signal and I can't make calls. Obviously my cingular service is not working with this phone but the thing is, other people have bought this phone in the US with cingular and have had no problem. Whats going on? Someone help!! This phone was too expensive to go to waste
