Sony Ericsson K790 / K800

Could someone plllease send me a picture of the data cable. I have a feeling mine is screwed up. There are 4 prongs stickig out. There is one off to the left and there are three prongs to the right side by side...BUT the first prong of the three is VERY small. Are they all suppose to be the same length???? This would help me out very much.

Hey I just got the phone today, replaced my rokr and have already run into trouble. When I connect the usb to transfer some test pics i took it says it cannot recognize it. I installed the software and tried...same thing...unistalled reinstalled...same thing..I pput it in once and it said it detected k790 blah blah then it said it did not install properly and I went to the program and it said phone is not connected....Any suggestions?

Hello, I was wondering if there is any application you could get that would allow your phone to be password protected everytime it is unlocked, or used. Or atleast if there is any way to protect your pitures from being viewed if it is lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks 🙂

Not just a flash for the camera, but a regular LED flashlight that can stay on.

Managed to give my K800i a serious whack. Now have problem where the signal is low but intermittently so. I'm also getting a lot of "Emergency Calls Only" and "No Network Coverage" messages - I guess because of the poor signal. The signal strength seems to fluctuate a lot if I'm holding the phone. If I leave it in one spot I get about 4 bars (out of 5) and "My Phone Explorer" shows only about 39% (-73dBm), I would usuallly be getting 5 bars and about 70% on a good day (I'm out in the sticks a bit with no 3G coverage sadly). The local coverage is normally good enough that I maintain a signal at all times. It's not some ...

I had a K800i before but it was stolen. I was looking at the specs on the Nokia N95. I like what I see. But I also loved my K800i. I'm confused. Don't know whether to go back to Sony or move to a new thing. Help me decide PLEASE.

I am looking (mainly at e-bay) for this phone. I live an hour south of orlando and was wondering if I would lose any features (or service) if I went for the much cheaper 800i? If you have any suggestions where I could buy the 790a if there is some loss of service that would be great.

Does anyone know how to get the zooming function of the phone to work when using foreign images (jpgs transferred onto phone). I put a decent sized jpg onto the phone, and while it displays a single version that fills the screen, it does not allow zooming, like what you get when you take a picture and can change magnifications (1x, 2x, 16x, etc)

How can I find out if the K800i works for cing if it doesnt have gsm 850 some1 from tmobile asked and I want to know if its the same for cing.

Which phone would you guys choose i mean both of these phones are pretty slick in design and all but over all performance which one would be better?? Would both work with cingular

is there any way to set the phone to remind you that a text or MMS message was received

on mine i cant seem to find anything on this .. sometimes because of work I dont hear or feel a incomming text so a reminder would be nice

I will be using my K790a across 16 miles of open ocean, and am looking for some advice:

1) does the K790 have a jack for an external antenna connection?

and

2) does anyone here know of any boosters that would enhance incoming or outgoing signals? (Note: must work on 12 volt power)

I'm considering switching to Cingular (AT&T) and wondered how mobile IM works on this device (and other unlocked non-Cingular phones). I am planning on adding the $20/month unlimited text/IM package, which I have currently on Verizon. On phones from the carrier, they come preloaded with IM client software. Will I be able to access MSN messenger, AIM, etc... with this device (for use with my unlimited messenging package)? Thanks guys.

is there any thing i wont be able to do once i do this? like download programs and such thru media

Just got one off eBay and gonna see how it holds up.

I'm sure a whole bunch of you already know how to make your own custom ringtones but this is for the ppl who are just browsing.

If you have your phone locked and your carrier has put an mp3 restriction on it you cannot assign mp3's as ringtones, therefore you'll need to convert the mp3 to a wav file.

Best program I've found to do this was trusty iTunes...if you explore the preferences you'll notice you can any mp3 to a wav file, and iTunes also allows you to only play a certain portion of a song.

eg: you want the chorus of a song to be your ringtone so you specify in time (1:30 start) and the end (1:50)

I usually allow for only 20sec since my voicemail kicks in around 15sec or so, this also cuts down on size of the file since wav...
