LG VX-8300

Since it was just approved it may not be available for flashing in all stores just yet.

Anyone who gets the upgrade please list here your experience with it. Also any info on improvements from version 1 to 2 would be appreciated.

Before anyone asks, no I don't have any info on the changes at this time.

I just purchased a new 8300 and it has the version 3 software. I went into the hidden menu to activate the mp3 player and when I try to activate it, it says "NOT AVAILABLE". It appears the ability to assign your play key shortcut has also been removed in the phone settings. Can anyone else confirm this? Thanks.

lg just came out with their own bluetooth. it's called the lg 710 or something close to that. anyone have any info on it? i own an lg 8300 cell and have heard about compatibility problems with some bluetooths. figured since lg came out with their own, that would be a thing of the past.

Even the reps dont have a clue. Do you have to use a stereo headset to listen to music through bluetooth, or can you have a regular headset and just use one ear. So far no answer's from verizon and very frustrated. This software is supposed to enable music through bluetooth and you can now use a 2 gig memory card thats all that verizon could tell me, other than that they had no clue as to how it works!

I went into my local verizon store a month ago, after reading about the software update version 2, and both techs told me there is no update out, so I left. Then after reading about update version 3, I decided to try again. so I went in today and the tech told me there is no update yet for the vx8300. I asked him to find out, and he came back and said, "oh ya, there is an update". I asked what the update will do and he said he doesnt know. I asked him what info or features I might lose and he said he doesnt know.
I use my phone for everything, including vznavigator, mp3's and watching video, so I want to get the most out of my phone.
I left that store kinda pissed and called vzw customer service, and spent a half hour on the phone, after w...

Ok so i have an 8300and it was the first one sold here at my location. So it has the Vesrion 1 software. If i take it to get it reflashed what will i benifit and what will i lose... Does anyone know or have a version 2? I just wanna make sure i dont like lose the pic on front screen like the razor or something like that..Thanks any info. is appreciated

Can you email ringtones to the 8300 by email using cellphonenumber@vzwpix.com? This is important to me, and I have heard that some phones have disabled this.

Just wondering if there was any word on a desktop charger for the 8300 or if they had come out with a bitpim program that allows for transfering files to your computer.

Also, was it the 8100 verizon charger that you could cut something out of the center?

I have downloaded many ringtones (no wallpaper yet) and they work fine - an amazing large selection and they sound good ... to me. By the way, I have NOTHING to do with the site - just felt it was my "civic duty" to let people know about it. Costs $7.99 for a year of unlimited downloads.

can u put mp3's on this phone without having a memory card? i dont think imma buy a memory card cuz i only wanna put a few songs on here

yesterday i had treid getting a ringtone off my friends phone to puton mine through bluetooth. after putting the passkey in and the phones being connected, we tried activating the transfer and it said "device out of range" i think thats what it said if i remember correctly. is it that you cannot pair this phone with a sony ericson? anyone have any advice..thanks

Hi when i make my own ringtones, some of the files on my phone turn into qcp. I was wondering why it does that? Some of my other songs turn into midi. of course the midi sounds better so i want to know what i can do to change the qcp to midi. maybe its the file size i dont know?

Hi, Im a mac user and I have created some flash wallpapers for the 8300. I have a SD card but no usb cable or Bitmap. I want to know if anybody here knows how can I transfer .swf files to the phone using the memory card? Thanks to everyone who can help 🙂

Hi, I searched and searched, on how to add or create your own animated( Flash? Gif? ) wallpaper. Example: The fun animations you can select from the wallpaper option. My question is : What exactly are these animations and how can I add more ? Are they .btm? What? Any Info will be greatly appreciated 🙂

On a side note: Is there a easier way to add your custom ringtones? Are they Mp3's Mid's. What are the specs for optimun sound? Thanks again. 🙂

Hey, so I'm contacting you because it seems like you really know what you're doing. I followed the instructions about ringtones on my friend's 8300 and we were pleasantly surprised about how well it worked.
I'm wondering whether the steps you took to be able to play your mp3 ringtones on the 8300 could be done on any other phones. Eh?

Chargers for the older VX models won't work as has been documented here in this forum. Surely someone has a desktop charger for the 8300.

Just like most B/T sets. Lot of people have had nothing but problems. I have tried 4 different models with my 8100. All Sucked. GIVE IT UP. B/T is a GIMMICK... Not a useable feature. GEEZ people wake up. STOP WASTING YOUR MONEY and making other people rich and you frustrated.
