Try the Logitech Mobile Traveller!

Actually the Logitech Mobile traveller works even better! I have the 320 and a manager at the verizon store said to try out the logitech. I couldn't be more happier. No problems whatsever and the windstop tech does work. 320 has too much static. The trick on the Logitech is to get the bendable ear hook to fit comfortable, once you do that enjoy it! Works great while driving since there is more noise when on the freeway. I have been asked if I am not using my headset, but I was using the Logitech. Hope this helps, and no it doesn't look awkward, actually looks pretty sharp. I use it on the 8300.

Camera lens cracked

Somehow I managed to crack the lens on this phone. The camera still works, but the pics aren't nearly as sharp. Is that the lens on the outside or is it a protective glass I can replace? What are my options for fixing this? Thanks.

Should I switch from the Moto Razr v3c

I was thinking of switching to to 8300. I like the Razr, but am not happy that my keypad is starting to come loose and Verizon says they cannot tighten it. They told me to put in an insurance claim but that will cost me $50 to get a new one. It was not loose when I originally got the phone. I know this was an early complaint about the phone. I find that many times when I press a key, it does not register or I get the wrong digit. So what do you all recommend. Is the 8300 a good replacement? The downside I see is that my moto bluetooth uses the same recharger as the Razr, you cannot put the 8300 on vibrate from outside the phone, and the 8300 is bigger than the Razr. I don't consider these a reason not to go with the 8300. I only ren...

Dorky Voice Recognition?

As much as I like the 8300 (and I really do), I'm not happy with the voice recognition capability. Frankly, my previous phone, the LG VX4400, was easier to use. Sure, it didn't do very much, but it did it well. This one constantly blows it and asks me numerous times if it has it correct - and it usually does not. Plus, it mispronounces the phone book names terribly.

Is there something I can do to get it to work more effectively?

mp3 a2dp stereo bluetooth - FOR THE LAST TIME- IT WORKS!

Okay, this is the definitive thread on the stereo bluetooth issue with the 8300. People have been slinging all kinds of rumors like the idea that since VZW doesnt advertise it, that it must not be there. The a2dp profile that enables stereo music playback with compatible BT headset DOES exist in this phone, but since VZW has its own software in the phone, it creates some fancy footwork required on the part of the user to make it work:

The basics-
You need the 8300 and a stereo bluetooth headset such as th Motorola ht810. Also need the memory card, Transflash.

steps:
1-format the memeory card on the phone.
2-Allow MP3 playback in the programming menu of the phone.(hidden menu)
3.Load your MP3s onto the card IN THE MP3 FOLDER
4-Fu...

Is this game available for the 8300?

I've had the LG VX8300 for almost two weeks now. I have not put any games on here yet, though I have browsed through the listings of what is offered. I did not see an option for the old pong-type game called "Brick". This was a game going back to the old Atari systems where you would essentially play pong by bouncing a ball upwards in an attempt to eliminate as many bricks as possible (it may now go under a different name).

I would love to get this on my phone. Is there any way to go about doing so?

Interface on MP3 player

Heya All,
I'm interested in buying this phone, however I do have a question for you all.
How user friendly is the mp3 player if I have a lot of music stored on the phone? For example, can it sort by album, artist, etc.? If I have a lot of music on an SD card, would I have to go through 10 menu layers to find what I want, or is it pretty intuitive?
None of the demo models have music on them, so I haven't been able to determine how it works from the one in the Verizon store.
Thanks a lot for the help.

How Many Bars Is Full Signal?

Just got the 8300 & am going to test-drive it for the next 2 weeks to see how it performs, upgrading from the 6100.
My question is how many signal bars are there in max reception, does the 1X count for a signal?
I've seen 1X & no bars & it still worked.

Thanx,

Greg.

DUN without using Verizon????

In the past I was able to connect my LG VX6000 to my laptop and connect to the internet using my ISP (not verizon). I have just upgraded my phone to the VX8300. Can I still connect to the internet on my laptop via the VX8300 using my local ISP and not verizon??? Verizon tells me that I can't...but I'm not sure if they understood what I was asking. They said that I can only connect to the internet on my laptop if I subscribe to the $60/mo plan. Is this true???? I don't connect a whole lot using my cell, but I would like to be able to when needed.

Thanks ahead of time!

Battery Charge Indicator - Is there one??

Hi All,

When plugeed into AC and the 8300 is charging, the screen will go dark/black.

Unlike the 8100 where the screen stayed on while charging and then when the charge was complete - It would state "Charge Complete" on the outer screen

My 8300 does not do this. I have to open it in order to find out if it is done charging.

Is there a tip/trick out there to enable the screen to stay on while charging so a person can see it?? Thanks for any help out there.
