In your review you state that non-Cingular java apps don't get the "approve connection" pop-up. I tried both Google maps, and Opera mini, and they both show this every time. Is there something special you did to get rid of the security check?
If you confirm that you don't get the reminders, can you please post the versions of the firmware, Java, etc?

LG CU500 display (65
This display supports 65k colors whereas many other phones support 262k colors. Is this a noticable thing? People claim that the video is awesome (I haven't seen the phone yet), but will this be lacking for the video content that someone would display with all the video content Cingular provides?
For those of you that have this phone, honestly is it as good as it needs to be to make all this 3G content as cool as it should be?

first time buying a phone
i just want to know what is hsdpa and is lg cu500 a good phone. Also how much this phone is and does anyone know if this phone has came out yet because i cant find it anywhere. Also has anyone heard of the phone lg P7200 and which phone is a better buy. THX

A900 killer?
Does anyone else see this phone bringing potential A900 and/or Fusic buyers to Cingular instead of Sprint? It seems to have most of the best features of both (minus the fm transmitter) and adds HSDPA to the mix!
Also, does anyone have a possible price point on this one? Thx in advance.

Java Crippled, Firmware update needed!
When running non-Cingular apps that access the web, the permissions on the Java don't allow for 'Allow for this Session' making the apps useless. Google and Opera Mini are reduced to having the user hit "Allow Once" every time the program wants to access the network. VERY ANNOYING. I love this phone, but please Cingular, fix this! It's a deal breaker if there's no fix!

Pretty cool so far.
I live in an HSDPA market, so far the network speed is pretty impressive. Doesn't come with any accessories, just the charger and manual.
Music player is pretty cool, but i need to get a memory card so i can store more than 1-2 songs and some bluetooth headphones.
looks like there is about 15mb of memory, of which ~8mb is available.
camera seems to take decent pictures.
weight size is pretty similar to RAZR, although a bit narrower and a bit thicker, but not much.
Looks like DUN is also enabled (f-u verizon!) so i'm hoping it will do a decent job with my macbook pro.
also works well with my motorola bluetooth headset. looks like it was about 1/2 charged out of the box and it is still running with 1 ba...

Talked to the LG Rep about 2 weeks ago and confirmed one thing... This phone is not UMTS 😢 ..... It's HSDPA 😲 . Seriously it is... High Speed Data Packet Access beyotch!

According to phonearena, the phone is actually TRI-BAND UMTS 850/1900/2100. This phone simply put, is badass.
