LG VX-8500 Chocolate

I desperately need someones help... I know how to send files to myself once I have saved them, but I can't seem to get them in the right format or something when I save... I am right clicking saving target as and then the files aren't working.HELP!!

Has anyone come across this and how can I correct it to get the songs to transfer?

When I'm using the "sync" function between the phone and Windows Media(WM) to put mp3 files from my computer onto my Chocolate phone, the majority of songs will show error messages. Before I sync the song, WM says: "May not fit."
After I sync the songs, the error message reads: "Error: Windows Media Player cannot play the file. If the file is on another computer, verify that you are connected to the network. If you typed a path, verify that it is correct. If the problem persists, the server might not be available."
The files are on my computer, so not sure why it's asking to see if I'm connected to a "network."

So, if I edit a play list of about 20 s...

Is there a way to transfer ringtones to this phone via USB cable?

I bought the connection kit but cannot seem to get it to work.

I can transfer to the music section but cannot set them as ringtones.

Does anyone know what version of BREW the chocolate uses?

While I was at Verizon today I asked one of the techs that knows me and that has worked there for a couple of years and he said the update should be out within the next week.

Another site further confirms his statement.

Update to Include:

1. Speakerphone (can only be actived while on a call by pressing the camera button)
2. Add "Unlock Options" to Tools & Settings menu to allow for either 1 or 2 button presses to unlock nav keys
3. Tweaks to the music player to improve music ID tag issues and some playlist tweaks
4. Add brightness control to camera UI (up/down on nav keys)

OK so i got the chocolate today and i was trying to get the music onto my phone. i installed the new version of wmp. and installed the vcast CD too. the computer was still not recognizing the phone though. so i went and asked the tech. support guy and he said that i would have to install the drivers for the phone on the computer....where would i go to do that?

Ok so I need a car charger, xtra battery, and a micro SD.

Ebay has some cheap batterys and car chargers for the UK versions, and I wanted to know if the batterys fit?? any thicker?? and doe hte car chargers work??

The SD card I know Z can get wat ever kind i want as long as it is micro so thats not a problem.

I have a few questions for those who have bought and actually applied the shieldzone (full body or only screen protector).


Does anyone have any pictures they might be able to send me? I would really like to see the full body one in particular. This would honestly be the biggest help in the world.

Do you think the shieldzones are easy to see on it? make it look cheap? Gaps between the strips for the full body?

Do the shieldzones help show less fingerprints?

How difficult was the application process?

Does the screen protector only go to the bottom of the screen or cover the entire front portion?

I'm not planning on buying the music essentials pack, but still want headphones. Is there a good site for either 2.5mm headphones or an adaptor? I don't want the big over-the-head kinds, which is what I've seen some sites only having.

maybe im setting up my headphones wrong, but after inserting the headphone port in the side, i bought a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter at radio shack. but i only get sound in my right head phone. anyone else have this happen? if this is how the phone is that is a ****ty oversite by LG, who wants a mono sound mp3 player???

My ear peice already died on my chocolate☹️ or maybe i'ts like a secret mode and it doesn't work now.
But that was really lame and it only lasted about a month. Never been dropped or anything.

Just thought I'd let everyone know that I was somewhat dissapointed in the chocolate.

put Mp3s on a microSD put it into the phoen and the phone recognizes that the card is there and that its full but how do i get to play the songs?

the slider wobbles on my chocolate it wobbles, any one have the same problem??

Does it matter to charge a new battery to full the first time?? Just Curious!

i installed the software from the music essentials kit and so when i put in the usb cable and hook it to the chocolate a little icon appers saying the fone is connected then it disappears and i go into windows media player and it says that the device is not found. i guess i don't have usb 2.0 so my question is if a bought a memory card reader would i be able to put the music onto the card even though i have anyway i think i have usb1.1

I've read a few reviews and none of them mention the camera on the phone having a flash. I've also tried looking for pictures of the back of it to see if I could see one, but I couldn't find any. So does it come with one or not? And if not, do the pictures still come out ok if the lighting isn't all that great?

Forgive me if someone already covered this but I searched and couldn't find the answer.

When I use the voice dialing feature the promts are not audible through the earpiece...just the back speaker. Which makes it very hard to hear in a loud area or in the car.

When I use it with my bluetooth car system the prompts are barely audible through the BT device...like a faint wisper. Once the call connects the sound quality is great but I never know when to start talking to make the voice command.

Is this a bug? a typical occurance? or do I have a lemon?

An unexpected exception has occurred error.

i just got my phone today and read the handbook and all but im still confused...

1) what exactly is "digital only" or even "digital"? is that the mode to make/receive calls?

2) i do not use verizon's data services so is there any way i can disable EVDO/1X and make it so i can only receive/make calls/texts?

3) one last question: where's the bar that shows how strong my phone-call-making signal is? i cant seem to find it anywhere ☹️
