LG VX-8500 Chocolate

Did I push this thing in to far? I'm having a hard time getting it out of the little slot. Is it supposed to be hard like this? ☹️

It says on the phones profile that it is does not have picture messaging. Is that true? What about video messaging?

Also, what are owner's thoughts on the speakerphone? Loud enough?

I have been trying to figure out how to make the pic id showed up bigger whenever somebody calls. The pic id right now is so small. If anybody knows how to do this, please let me know...

im thinking about buying this phone but can u download songs from itunes onto the phone. i realize i might have to change the format of the file or whatever but if i do that is it possible to take songs off of itunes. or downloaded songs?

Is there anyway to stop this stupid thing from automaticall going back to voice dialing mode after you end a call that you initiated with voice dialing. This is very annoying. Especially when using bluetooth. You think you have hung up but the voice dial keeps working.

When you upgrade a phone with a newer software upgrade, does it erase EVERYTHING. Including contacts, music, pics, ect...

I want to know if I want to upgrade my Chocolate and my other phones which are SCH-990 Sch-970 and a RaZr.

Gosh, saw the Choc today. All those bright LED on a dark phone really capture attention. Boy, this phone is not "subttle." Oh well, at least all the LED are one color RED, and not multicolor (God forbid!).

So I have been racking my brain to figure this out. When I try to access a song from random playlists it freezes to the point I have to pull the battery to use the phone. I didn't purchase the synching software -- I have a card reader and a 512mb card in the phone i put mp3 files on.

I wiped the card clean and reinstalled the files. It still freezes randomly while trying to use the playlists. It never happens when using from the entire song list.

Any ideas??

if i get this phone unlocked and use my cingular SIM...will cingular help me if i have problems, or will i have to call LG...and even then...will they (LG) help me??

how big does the callers id show up?? is it a small pic or the whole screen??

Has anyone converted a movie to watch on their Chocolate?

I used Pocket DVD Wizard, which converts the movie just fine, but will not install chapter points. Is there any software that does this?

Using the FFWD button is like watching paint dry. It moves in 3 second increments.

Is anyone else frustrated navigating through songs? My 8100 was a champ and you could continously narrow your search as you typed in letters.

I have about 700 songs on my 2gb card, and if I want to play something that starts with "M", I need to scroll forever. Repeat tapping also causes a lag that keeps your curser moving long after you've stopped pressing.

This is a bummer.

I just spoke with a Verizon wireless store and they told me that there is a chance that my pix, flix, and ringtones (which were made by myself) may be erased during upgrade. What are the chances? I don't have a mem card, is there a better way to save content without uploading each one individually? What is everyone's experiance with the upgrade? Any other benefits besides spkrphone?

Does anyone know if you can get a small .wav or .mp3 to use as a ringtone? I know you can download one for $2, but I dont want to pay for a song I already own. I have .mp3 and .wav files on the card and on the phone and they will work fine. I cannot find a way to get either of these files from the phone or the card to show up in the ring tone section to choose from. If anyone knows how to do this, please let me know how. Verizon told me it is not possible with this phone, but I believe it is.

What is the newest software version for this phone and what does the upgrade do? Mine is about a year old....

i currently have a v3c, (ok phone) and i was thinking about changing to a chocolate. how much is this baby full price?

so i tried putting some vids on my memory card, but somehow it didnt go through. so now i have empty files that i cant delete no matter what i try. any ideas?

Is it posible to customize the navigation key that launches the calendar? This is a common customizable feature on most phones, but I am not sure it's possible with the Chocolate.

I did the update to add speaker phone myself. Phone works great. You can set to single or double click, camera takes pic by hitting "OK" faster. Song list doesn't reload unless you change something...etc.

PROBLEM: seems like my battery is running out faster than it used to. Charge used to last at least 24hours but now my phone is shutting off in the middle of the night.

Anyone else have this problem?

I was at phone arena today and it said that an LG chocolate was coming out that looked like the KG800 GSM phone but was CDMA! Maybe if I'm lucky it'll come to Sprint!
