New Sprint Agent

Im a fairly new Sprint agent. I have to admit that it has been doing fairly well for our stores since we added them. Ive noticed the credit checks are pretty "easy," so I have a question for those who have been selling sprint longer...Does Sprint have a high disconnect rate? Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Sprint-Nextel, what will the future hold?

Sprint's PCS coverage here in far eastern Ohio is practically non-existent, that is until the merger with Nextel is complete. When the new company emerges, coverage will expand greatly. The question is, how long will it take for Sprint and Nextel's network to merge and become one?

Other issues are AT&T Wireless's old TDMA network, that was rumored to be bought by Sprint and effective sometime in the Summer of 2005. Any news on that?

If all if said and done with the hopefully upcoming Sprint-Nextel, voice coverage will be 100% national and practically everywhere and then the enhanced network triple the size of Sprint's now. Do we see a new #1 in the cards?

Agreement to contract is up.

My Sprint contract ended this past week 26 of Jan. Now I'm free of any charges when I drop Sprint correct?
I plan to go to Cingular but the phone I want hasn't released yet. Not for another month or so. So my question is can i continue to use my Sprint phone even though my contract is up for say another 3-4 weeks?

Sprint service issues

Recently went to Chicago with a Sanyo 8200, I live in NE Ohio. While there w/ full signal strength, I could not make a call, and all calls to me went right to voicemail. Once I got back in Ohio the phone started working great again.

After talking to a rep at the sprint store and being told if that happens just take it into a sprint store and have the phone flashed for the new area (which i did not like this answer at all) I thought the problem could have been that the phone was on automatic and not sprint only.

My actual sprint indirect rep had no idea what the problem was either. As i dont travel much, i was wondering if anybody could help me with any ideas on what could have been the problem. Thanx.

Question on Sprint service stability / PRL updates

Long story short... I switched from Verizon to spring about 7 months ago. I bought the Sanyo RL-7300. A co-worker of mine had the phone and I loved it so much (style, ruggedness, features) that I went to a Sprint store several days later to get one for myself. Everything was fine, service very good, few dropped calls, etc. Less than a month into the contract, I decided to get add the "America" plan (free roaming as long as you use less than 1/2 of your total airtime minutes in a month) being that I live out of the mainstream and wanted the flexibility of knowing that I can make a call whenever or wherever and not have a problem. So I called *2 and talked with a representative who set me up with the America add-on. She then directed me ...

When are the New Sprint-Nextel Phones comming out?

I have been with verizon for about 2 1/2 years now and lucky I, was one of the many who bought the V710 and basically got screwed. I was wondering about the coverage of the new Sprint/Nxtl phones, and their reliability. What about the pricing plans as well. If anyone can give me some info to where i can find this info out it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

2.0 Megapixel Camera Phone

Alrighty, its getting time for me to do my annual phone upgrade. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about a Sanya 2+ MP camera phone due out soon, or when the Samsung A800 would be released. Though I'm not entirely sold on the slider design and I generally prefer Sanyo's, if its out soon enough it might be a viable option. Any thought would be appreciated.

Please Help Me With My Project

Hello, I am doing a project for a class, picking the best and worst cell phone service providers (that are offered in my area) and I need to collect information via a survey from cell phone users about the services that they have received from their respective carriers. So I figured what better place to post then here at phonescoop.com. If you would like to help me with my project here is what I need:

Name of carrier:
Rate Carrier (1 good - 10 bad):
What you liked:
What you didn’t:
What phone did (do) you have (be as specific as possible):
How did CS treat you?:
How long were (have) you (been) with them:
Then just your comments:

At the end just an area code (for classification purposes only):

Just copy and paste the above and...

Raiding Party

You know what I find amusing? These people who are diehard loyalists to whatever service provider they like going into other carrier forums and posting defamitory, and argumentative statements trying to incite some sort of angry response from the loyalist in that camp. It reminds me of some futuristic, apocolyptic tale where these different clans are all raiding each other fighting over the water in the last clean river or something. It's funny. I'm not saying stop. These incursions into each others Turf is at the most basic level amusing and in general beneficial to all communities in creating discource between the carrier minions that we all are.

Buying VIA E-Bay

I'm on Cingular (GSM) and was wondering how CDMA
users went about buying a phone and using it.

All I would have to do is move a sim card from one to another phone, what do you people do?

If I went CDMA I would want a backup phone as I do with CIngular, in fact I rotate the use of phones, can someone enlighten me?

Subscribing Online

I went around to all the web sites placing orders, (but not completing them of course), Sprint was the most expensive one to get started.

I can go to any other company and walk away with a good phone and contract with very little starting costs, I think Sprint has its web site set to draw people into the stores to talk to a sales rep.

There was a discount on a phone, the price with a 2 year contract is $69.00 I believe, but that is if you have a two year agreement, I could find NO WAY to have a two year contract ordering online.

After going through the ordering at the end I only save $4 and change 😲

Also, to get the savings on the phone your forced to buy a service for txt messages, pictures etc that sell for 15.00 a month, I ...

To steve
YOU CAN NOT AUTOMATICLY UPDATE YOUR SPRINT PHONE WITH A "PRL UPDATE" THROUGH *2 UNLESS YOUR PHONE IS SHOWING THROUGH CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT YOUR PHONE IS READY FOR ONE. ANYONE WHO IS LOOKING FOR A PRL UPDATE MUST GO INTO A CORPATE STORE TO GET A PRL UPDATE!!!!!!

EVDO from Sprint?

Does anyone know when Sprint is going to offer EVDO like Verizon Wireless is starting up February 1st? That new VCAST is gonna give Sprint some competition in the $15.00 unlimited data department.
