I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to use downloaded MP3's for individual contacts ringtones on the Sony W600i? I know it can be done for the main ringtone but I was trying to set personal ringtones for individual contacts. If this is possible would someone please tell me how. Thanks

i just want to know SOMETHING... 😲 ANYTHING 😳 about the W900i.

I have an application that sends an SMS (through an aggregator) to my W800i. The device receives the SMS from a 4-digit short-code sender.

The application expects a reply, but when I try to reply to the SMS, I instantly get a "Sending failed" message. However, everything works fine if instead of replying I simply send a new SMS to that short-code.

On top of that, any other SMS sending as well as replying works fine.

I bought a phone off of Ebay (I know...) and it was unlock. It apparently was made for Orange, whoever that is. Anyway, everytime I get a voicemail, it sends a text message from Unknown. Cingular was unable to help since this isn't there phone. Does anyone have any suggestions? The caller isn't paging me, so it is something with the phone.

Anyone notice the latest batch seems to have a lower max volume?

I've been with Verizon and I'm ready to jump ship. Sick of their crap phones. I'm new to GSM and not sure how the whole sim card works and buying phones from ebay then using them on carriers like Cingular. I know the W810i is starting to trickle out, can I go ahead and buy one before Cingular releases it and still use it? Should I wait for Cingular to introduce it? Lastly, will it work? Sorry, but I'm a noob to the GSM deal and not sure how that all works. I'm used to having a Sprint phone only usable on their network and Verizon, etc. I want this phone bad! I heard it could be out with Cingular end of the month or as late as freaking July. Any help?

has anyone else had a problem downloading themes from sonyericsson.com/fun with a w600i??? if so, did you find a work around. i keep getting the message 'download of select content not allowed'. I'm logged in, i have the correct phone selected on se.com and know how to download, but I can't get this to let me... anyone have any suggestions??? and i am using Cingular with a Cingular branded phone.

I have a SonyEricsson T39 and it is unlocked and work very well with all companies but a few months behind one company lock my cell... i dont know how can i unlocked this. Is any software to do this? or i need to change the imei?

I'm not even in the market for a new phone (I have an ugly gray nokia 66** that works fine), but I saw the SE Z520a on Cingular's site and it's $0, so I got a serious jones for the phone! BUT after reading about all the problems with it, I started re-thinking that..

So, I looked at the w600i (which is NOT $0) and it looks like fun - and it has the main feature I'm looking for - music! ANd it's colorful, too!

So, my question is - if I'm not text-messaging, sending photos from my phone, etc. (and don't want to pay for those features monthly), is it overkill to have this phone? I could always go buy a cd player for my desk, right? HA!

Actually, now that I type this, I am rethinking how stupid the question even sounds! The whole purpose...

🤭 I need some help here! I bought my Sony Ericsson Z520a back in December '05. It's been a great phone...coverage everywhere I go! Last week my phone suddenly started SEARCHING then went to NO NETWORK COVERAGE everywhere (meaning every place that used to get 5 bars) now has zero coverage! I took the phone to Cingular...they said I had a bad SIMS card...so they gave me a new one...didn't change anything. Went back...they gave me another SIMS card; nothing. They suggested I send the phone back for an exchange...I did. I got the new Z520a and put my SIMS card in and guess what? NO NETWORK COVERAGE OR SEARCHING! Went back to Cingular...they put my SIMS card in another phone and it worked perfectly...but their SIMS card would not work in my ...

Hi There, anyone got any ideas where I can find some half decent fascias for the W550i?

I found an excellent site a few days ago, but didn't bookmark it, and can't remember the name. (Stupid I know!)

If anyone has any clues, I'd be so grateful!

(The site I found had some really snazzy covers, (like a green one called 'digital age') and a 'create your own' option.)

Hi,
I routinely turn my S710a off when I get to my desk in the morning. It's primarily because I can't pick up a signal at my desk. More than once, some time after turning the phone off, it turns back on and gives me the beeps that the battery is almost dead - and this is when it had 1/2 or more battery charge displayed on the screen. There have been other times when I turned the phone off that at the end of the day, the phone is on..and I'm the only one that messes with the phone.
any suggestions?

I bought this phone for my brother. He says that every time he uses the phone the camera takes a picture and he can't get it to stop. Has this happened to anyone else and if so...how were you able to fix it? I haven't heard of this problem from anyone else.....Thanks.
