TIME Magazine reviews Apple iPhone: ‘The best phone that anybody has ever made, a marvel’
Sunday, July 01, 2007 - 12:55 AM EDT
Regarding the Apple iPhone, "Steve Jobs has said, repeatedly, that this is the best iPod that Apple has ever made, and it is. It's also the best phone that anybody has ever made," Lev Grossman reports for TIME Magazine.
"E-mail and web-browsing are unbelievably great. Ditto the crisp music and video playback. Everybody I called with the iPhone remarked on the crispness and clarity of the audio. For the iPhone, Apple has brought to market a revolutionarily smart, sensitive touchscreen and created an entirely new user interface to match it, all in one go, so seamlessly that my 3-year-old daughter — and I apologi...

iPhone updates?
How much of the memory do you think these updates will take? Are the updates only for MAC users or both MAC and PC?
over in the "Review: iPhone" discussion:
Kudos
Kudos on the review: it was the best I've read so far. First, I must give you props for having Beyonce in your iPhone. Secondly, how easy did you find setting up email? Also, I am still on the fence about getting the phone, I peg you all as the type to have many phone, do you find it to be a big problem swapping between phones? I know one cannot put a normal AT&T sim in the iPhone, but can one put an "iSim" in a non-iPhone?

Why do ppl hate the iphone?
I don't understand why people hate the iphone. Just because it doesnt have 3g or any other crap doesn't mean it's not a good phone. And a lot people are trying to compare it to a damn pda. WTF is up with that? It's a entertainment phone for god sakes, not a blacberry, HTC, Treo etc. People just hate on it for stupid reasons and i'm tired of hearing it. If you dont like it, FINE!!!! Just don't buy it or dont'even look at it if you think your pda is far superior. 👿 👿 👿 👿 👿
Also, the HTC Mongul is the DOWNGRADED verison of the Cingular 8525 and Cingular....Excuse me...the new AT&T is a good company

NO MMS AND NO STEREO BLUETOOTH and NO VOICE DIALING IT"S ILLEGAL in NJ !!!
So no pic messaging, a feature I know almost everyone uses today.
Stereo Bluetooth is awesome and it missing this..
How about the voice dialing..
NJ law passed last week --- If a POlice officer sees you dialing a phone , you are subjest to a ticket.. You are not allowed to dial you phone while driving in NJ anymore..
SO that makes using the Iphone in the car ILLEGAL in NJ.. GO apple - Great job !!
How do you build a 2007 phone without voice dialing ?
They did and it will cost them big !!

Reasons why people get the iPhone...
1. Your iPod broke.
2. You want to consolidate your cell phone and your iPod into one convenient device.
3. You're a nitwit with lots of money to blow.
4. You're a gullible fool who'll buy anything if the advertising is right.
5. You like spending over 500 dollars on the latest fad because your ego depends on it.
6. You like collecting overpriced, over-hyped gadgets with bugs and other flaws.
7. You are sick to death of your RAZR, and the RAZR fad, so you're ready to jump on the bandwagon of the next best thing.
8. Your rich parents are buying this phone for you.
9. You're a nitwit with lots of money to blow.

iBought a hearing aid and now I can hear people on the iPhone!!!
Man, I'm telling you what...I freaking love Apple and the iPhone rules, but the earpiece and ringers are sooo quiet!!! I noticed that the earpiece is louder at first, but when you move it towards your face as soon as the proximity sensor kicks in the volume lowers as well...so, maybe this can be fixed in a software update? Additionally, I wish it had reminder tones or vibe when you miss a call or a text message. Sometimes I miss a call or a text and don't realize it for 3 - 4 hours...and it's a hot chick that I want to bang...that would be great if Apple could add that in a software update. Aside from those two things I think the phone's awesome...I mean come on, it's their very first phone so of course it won't be 100% perfect.

texting problems?
is there a way to get the keypad larger on the iphone? i tried one out and it was hard to text (i'm a guy so no long finger nails) but it was hard to hit the correct letter while texting.....anyway around this problem? thanks!
LMAO!!!!!
I feel sorry for the MANY buisness users that spent SO much money to only be told that they can not activate this on their accounts... Then have to run credit for a consumer account to only be advised they need a deposit!!! I'm sorry guys... That's just sad...

BOTTOM LINE
The Apple iPhone is the most innovative phone on the market. Verizon Wireless mobile broadband (combined with voice coverage) is the best cellular phone provider. Reviews on Consumer Reports favors VZW in every major city with the exception of one. EVDO is broadband, EDGE is dial up. Until the two (if ever) decide to partner up, you won't see the BOTTOM LINE "best" combination. Disclaimer: There will always be areas where VZW works, and ATT does not. And areas where ATT works, and VZW does not. Generally speaking, iPhone with VZW service is best combo.

Iphone
ok look i really don't understand why people who don't like the iPhone put weird things about it online. I was actually reading all the reviews from phonescoop.com and most of them were people who do not own one, so i thought heck with it let me go and test the phone. I think its a very cool phone, something new in the market. I used to have Verizon and thats true Verizon has a good reception ONLY customer Service forget about it, but i thought let me take my number to AT&T test them out and see if i like it then i don't mind paying 140 termination fee. So i got the phone and it was activated in less than 20 minutes. AT&T reception is very good I actually get reception where i wouldn't get with verizon. Thats true speaker is not that loud bu...
