Hey Apple You Can't Be Serious..... READ THIS PEOPLE! UNREAL!

This was taken from an article on the Internet, it is Apples battery exchange policy for the Iphone. WHICH IF YOU TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT WILL COST YOU $114.95 plus TAX TO CHANGE THE FRIGGIN BATTERY IN THE IPHONE. JOBS YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING!

The iPhone's battery is apparently soldered on inside the device and cannot be swapped out by the owner like most other cell phones.

Apple spokeswoman Jennifer Hakes said Thursday the company posted the battery replacement details on its Web site last Friday after the product went on sale.

Users would have to submit their iPhone to Apple for battery service. The service will cost users $79, plus $6.95 for shipping, and will take three business days.

The procedure is similar to the one it has ...

Poor Verizon customers...

You guys are AWESOME! Jumping ship.....breaking your contracts...bringing your whole family over just because of the iPhone. LOL It's pretty hilarious. I watched you line up in DROVES with your VZW bills in hand on the 29th... sweating your brains off in the sweltering heat while you waited for 6pm.... Apple said "NO WAITING LISTS" but i still have a large spreadsheet with email addresses chuck full of Verizon customers dying to port their numbers over when we get our next shipment in. It must be tough to watch AT&T and Apple grace the homepages of CNN, Yahoo, USA today basking in the media limelight as the country awes in lieu of the iPhone. Verizon still has.........well........that chocolate thing goin on (and in 4 different flavors!)

iDrop Calls Left and Right

I switched from Verizon - No problems at Verizon with service or dropped calls ever, but with ATT I'm dropping calls all the damn time no matter where I am or how good the signal is. The non-phone related things on the iPhone are totally and absolutely amazing; I'm a Mac user so I have to like it, but the phone freaking sucks! The ringer is not loud at all and the earpiece is totally quiet even with the volume all the way up. Additionally, every time I talk to someone they ask me if I'm on a speaker phone; I'm not. I HATE THIS AS A PHONE!!! Everything else is amazing though! I dropped 9 calls out of 37 since Friday night (it is Sunday night now). I don't know...I really like this thing, but I want my phone calls to go through.

iTunes Playlist

I just downloaded the new iTunes player in preparation for my iphone purchase. I have yet to purchase anything on iTunes but I have my entire music library stored from previous cds and downloads. Is there a way to create your own playlists other than the defaults, such as 90's music and favorites? Are you able to group the songs into playlists on the phone? How would the album cover art work? Didn't know how coverflow would work in that instance. Thanks!

My IPhone Experience

OK I read all the reviews, but I had to see for myself. So I went about it a different way, I didn't change my provider I just got a new phone number with Cingular/ATT, figured they had a try out time and would be less expensive if I decided to return the phone. Here's what happened.

I unpacked the Iphone very carefully saving every scrap of packing just in case. Charge it fully, had it activated and it's going back tomorrow and you can bet I'm not paying any restocking fee either. This phone sucks either it's the phone or it's the provider.

Back in the day I had Cingular before they changed over to GSM.. Cingular worked great around here when it was TDMA? Now it sucks, drop off city and very spotty service, doesn't even penetrate ...

Phenominal

Excellent review fellas. I just wish you guys had the chance to review the device prior to launch day. I sell these things and honestly, it takes alot to blow me away, but the the iPhone floored me on a lot of levels. This device has already laid the ground work for mobile entertainment for years to come. I just wish there weren't so many Verizon and Sprint fanboys hating on in the Forums and Review sections of the iPhones Phonescoop page. Thanks again for giving another, unbiased, in depth review.

Availability

Just happened to check out the iPhone's availability on Apple's website. There seem to be only two stores where you can get one...one in Oregon and the other in Pennsylvania.

Apple planning on iPhone updates soon

from Appleinsider (sorry if this is old)

"Apple planning host of iPhone updates before Leopard release - report

By Aidan Malley

Published: 03:25 PM EST
While the more cautious phone buyers have stayed away from the iPhone for numerous practical reasons, one source claims that Apple's handset is due to solve most of these problems with upgrades in coming months -- many of which will arrive with or before the company's Mac OS X upgrade.

A Palo Alto mobile user interface designer that regularly associates with Apple employees has reportedly been told that many of the features lacking from the iPhone are already scheduled as part of future updates, most of which should arrive on or before the October release of the revamped Mac OS...

Accessing WiFi

Great review... I noticed that you guys were having trouble accessing the Windows-based Wifi. I was trying to figure this out the first 24 hours I had the phone and I figured out my problem.

When a new network is discovered your are by default asked for a PASSWORD for a secure network. Our Wifi router has a 10 digit key. You have to change the "enter password" menu to show "enter key" instead. Obviously this applies to those of us who did not bother to create a new or different password other than the 10-digit encryption key that is the default for routers. Hope this helps out.

VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION??

When entering contacts to the iPhone, is there anyway to have them stored into the sim card?? The reason i ask this question is because my phone was swapped yesterday at an apple store and the guy told me that he was going to take my sim card out of the other iPhone and insert it into the new one, and that it was already going to be activated, and yes it was activated, but when i got home my contacts were not in the sim card, so i had to re-do all the entries again. So is there an option to store them to the sim card or not???

Data only?

Does anyone know if ATT will allow a data only package with the iPhone? Seeing as the phone functionality has been advertised as almost secondary to everything else, it'd be nice if they allowed it. Which probably means that they don't...

How long is your iPhone battery lasting?

I'm finding with doing periodic email checks, a few text messages, a few voice mails and a little screwing around I'm getting a little under a day's worth...or about 18 hours (80% of the time in standby mode)...and I'm not doing anything intensive at all. Please let me know what you're getting because I'm not too sure that this device is living up to the battery life claims that Apple recently announced. Thanks!

Iphone battery replacement cost.

The following is from an article I found on the Internet this morning.

Apple revealed the details behind its iPhone battery replacement program this week. It's basically the same deal as with the iPod, in that you have to return the unit to Apple for battery replacement, but it's a little more expensive. The service costs $79 plus $6.95 for shipping to replace the battery on an out-of-warranty iPhone, and Apple says it will take three business days.

The service is also similar to the iPod in that all data is cleared from the iPhone during the replacement process, so you have to make sure that you back up all data on the device before sending it in. Apple says the iPhone battery is good for between 300 to 400 charges before performance ...
