BlackBerry Pearl 8130

I have had my 8130 for about 5 days now and I think it is an awesome phone. the only problem I am having is that from time to time when I pull my phone out of the holster the screen says:

Title: Voice Dialing

Initializing: Please Wait.....


And it locks up. I can't do anything to unfreeze it besides take out the battery and reboot the phone

Is anyone experiencing the same problem I am?

Any suggestions on what I should do to fix the problem Or do I just have a bad phone that needs swapped out????

I went to options then security and noticed my phone has a icon that says transport. I clicked it and was transported to another deminsion. With this phone I can go forward and backwards in time and was wondering if anyone else has this option

Ok...i know this should be pretty self-explanatory, but it's not...how do you clear the VM icon? Yes, i've listened to the VM...in fact, in an effort to clear it, i've erased every VM i had saved...Still won't go away.

I've looked all through the user manual and in the "help" section on the actual phone. there is no way (that i can find) to clear this icon!

PS-it looks like a little tape...that IS the VM icon, right? If it's not, what is it and how do i make it go away? TIA!! 😎

is there any way to do this? i'd even be ok if i could lock access to memory card or something...any ideas? thanks!

i just recently got the 8130 with verizon, and when i receive voicemail messages, i also receive an sms txt. is there any way to disable this?

Is it possible to have each email account in its own color. For example me @ msn.com in black and me @yahoo.com in green.

This way it will be a quick way to determine to which one of my email addresses I'm receiving it from.

I am confused...my company does not have a balckberry server but i would still like to receive emails on my blackberry and believe we have smtp sytem in place, can i set up bb on my work email without haveing a bb server?

I'm upgrading from my Treo to a BB and called Verizon; totally confused on their plans. Mostly need email (POP3, not corporate) and also do some web surfing. They told me I need the $45 unlimited everything plan since my current monthly data usage averages just at/above the 10MB limit of the $29 plan.

I'm very confused because I read a lot on this forum that most users can get along with the $29 plan and I don't want to pay VZ more than necessary. Does anyone know what the deal is here? Please help! Thanks.

My 8130 is diabling outof Bluetooth mode all the time on its own. It does it with my nx6000 earpiece and in my Lexus GS450h. I owned the 8830 before and did no have this problem. Has anybody else had thid problem.

...yes, i followed earlier links and instrustions. i put all browser configurations back to factory settings and went to operamini.com. when i went there, it told me that my "phone model could not be detected". it then went on to tell me that high memory versions and low memory versions were availble to DL. I clicked on "list of known phones" but it did nothing. i was afraid to DL it if my phone was not supported, because, well, it's a $500 phone and i don't wanna mess it up. 😉 but anyway, any info would be greatly appreciated...thanks!

I currently have a Sprint Plan with Power Vision, unlimited Text, etc. on a Palm Treo.

I want to purchase a Pearly 8130 and transfer over my current service.

Question - do I have to get the Black Berry plan for this phone or could I just use it with my existing Power Vision service? I know a similar thread was their for VW but that individual had NO data plan, I have the Power Vision plan.

Please let me know as I intend on purchasing the phone soon.

I just need a new phone and this has excellent reviews.

I currently have a treo 755 from Sprint, and am having serious issues with while attempting to check my email or download something several times before I can actually access it, and want to upgrade to the pearl, but LOVE my chat-style texting. Does the pearl have chat-style texting, because I don't think I could go back to the regular style. I've looked all over the forums and haven't seen this asked, so I'm hoping someone can help me.

i got my bb pearl few weeks ago,
i love this phone, this phone is a killer, man...
little help needed here...
i'm trying to change the msg ringtone...
the default msg ringtone is kinna bull shet to me..
so i'm trying to assign my customized mp3 as ringtone for any msg or email received...
is there anyway i can do that for my pearl?

I have two arrows that are always coming on and I do not know what they mean. The only arrows I so in the icon section where blue I believe and it said data. I am not using data or accessing the net so is there a way to disable them?

I'm thinking of getting this phone, Is this a good one or is there something better coming out that I should wait for?

All PDA's in the past had some sort of hole under or near the battery that would completely reset the unit back to factory defaults but I can't find one on the Pearl. Can't upload Cellbrite client till back to factory specs.

What does the data service do and does it have to be enabled? I keep getting two yellow arrows that point up and down appearing in the right upper corner when I make a call.

I'm having several issues accessing links embedded in my email. My guess is that its due to Blackberry's browser.

Has anyone tried the mobile opera browser on the Pearl? If so do you think it might correct my problem?
