Samsung SCH-A670

I've been using my car battery charger almost exclusively for charging my Samsung phone. Hardly ever use the travel charger that came with the phone. Does it really make a difference?
Is using the car charger damaging to the battery? Also, with these Lithium batteries, is it necessary to let them run down on power before re-charging?
If you guys say it's best, I'll stop depending on the car charger so much.

I figured out how to get BitPim to download the Samsung SCH-A670's photos on Mac OS X 10.9. I had trouble with BitPim auto-detecting the correct port for the phone. Just wanted to post this in case someone else needs to get photos off of this phone. I used a cheap Samsung-to-USB cable I got on Amazon.

1. Turn on the phone and connect it to the cable and the cable to the computer.
   
2. Open Terminal.app. Copy and paste the following, then hit return:

   ls /dev > ~/with.txt

   
   
3. Unplug the cable from the computer
   
4. Copy and paste this into Terminal:

   ls /dev > ~/without.txt

   
   
5. And finally this:

   diff ~/with.txt ~/without.txt

   
   
6. Whatever shows up there is your

I'm planning to purchase the the A670 tomorrow at my local Radio Shack. What is everyone else doing in the way of accessories?

RS has a variety of add-on accessory packages, including one that has a nice-looking leather cover with a belt clip (meant for the A680, but seems to fit well), a standard car charger, a deluxe headset, and an extended battery--all for $99. Is that worth it? If purchased separately, it would be double that amount. But am I better off getting the accessories elsewhere? I'd probably want these four items anyway. I'm just wondering how the quality compares to what could be purchased elsewhere/individually.

i erased all the pics off of a Samsung SCH-a670 any ideas????? 😢

Hey guys, I have resorted back to using this phone after yet another LG Chocolate bit the dust(no surprise there). When texting on the chocolate I am used to having the ability to go beyond the 160 character limit on a txt and adding another page if needed to do so but with this phone it cuts it off immediately at 160 characters and there are no options to continue on to a second page if needed. Anyone know if it is possible to do so on this phone or if we are stuck with the 160 character limit when composing a txt message. Thanks in advanced.

Ok, so I know this must happen to some other people out there. My Verizon SCH a670 screen is smashed but I have some 'important' txts and pics which I really need to get off the phone some how. HOW?? Don't worry I have a technical background too..I have heard of BitPim and SIM card readers via my computer to do this? As I'm pretty sure the Verizon Store can only retrieve my Contacts(or so they say). Has anyone had luck with any methods on this subject? Any direction would be greatly appreciated!!

I have heard a few things about how to charge the phone and am wondering which are myths and which are truths.
1. If you charge the battery for too long or overnight, it will over-charge and stop holding a good charge. Is this true or false?

2. If you leave the phone on, talk on it, or use it in other ways while it is charging, the battery will not hold a good charge. Any ideas if that is true or false?

Does anybody know or have happened where the backlight will only work when the flip is half-open. That is, when I fully open my phone the backlight turns off. Please help...thanks.

i just got this phone yesterday, and when i enter my office number, i can't seem to enter the P or W like you can with other phones.

i want to be able to call my office, wait for the voice prompt and then send my pin number. i can only enter number and NOT the P or W.

can anyone help?

I have the a670 on EasyPay, and I can't get the Get It Now to work. Whenever I try to download anything, it says "Install failed (1281)". I've reset the phone, reprogrammed, even had a software flash, but it still won't work. Has anyone run into this, and if so, how can it be fixed?

Does this phone have 3-way calling capabilities? If so, how do I do it?

My brother and his girlfriend both had this phone and both of their hinges broke, and I think mine's going to follow suit. Has anyone heard of this happening on this phone?

i was wondering since i still have this phone till my contract is up. is it compatible with bluetooth. some sets say things about headset and or something else.... would greatly appreciate feedback thanks

which version do u download for bitpim. do u download The Samsung one thats the genral one or do they have the specific software for the 670 or is there even one for the 670

i have a metro pcs a670 and the backlight keeps flickering and getting dim. does this happen to any of your phones.

I just got this phone, and the default ringtones are fine, but when i download new ones from GET IT NOW, they sound terrible. anyone else have this problem?

Okay, I have seen a few people say they have problems with their phone (a670). I was putting ringtones on my phone with bitpim and i have never had a problem before. Well now my phone starts to turn on then it just restarts itself.

Does anyone have any solutions?? maybe a way to get into the programing?? verizon said i had to pay $50 for a new phone... any my gets renewed in a few weeks so i dont want to do that!
