Samsung SCH-A670

I have lousy audio quality. It's constantly breaking up, and I am always asking people to repeat themselves. They can hear me just fine. I don't see any other references to this problem, so I wonder if there's something wrong with my unit. Anyone experience this?

Note: 😢 I'm still in Verizon's 15 day return period. But if I bring the unit in for exchange, I will receive in return *a refurbished unit* with a *90 day* warranty. That *really* stinks. (Same deal returning under the 1 year warranty!)

i have a question about txts. when i have it on vibrate and i get a text it vibrates but then beeps later if i dont check it. is there any way to make it vibrate again after i dont check it? if that makes any sense

also the T9 word sucks i always have to change it halfway through to type a word it doesnt recognize. it doesnt recognize even simple words and sometimes it doesnt let me type any more letters for a word. is this just me or is there a way to fix it?

I can't seem to figure it out. Youc an send pix on this phone but no video?! Whats the point in adding it?! 😡

Previously used an LG6000 and had NO problems using BITPIM to load MP3's into the phone as ringtones. Is the same possible with this phone OR the Motorola V710? Thanks!

I recently had to get a replacement phone from asurion insurance and ever since i got my new phone i cant do picture messaging or use get it now!!

I'm on my 2nd Samsung a670. The first one was great but the hinge broke (a class problem with this phone). Verizon gave me a new one but people now complain that they can't hear me with the new phone. Verizon claims that there is no way to reprogram the phone to make the microphone more sensitive. I'm not sure I believe that. I've seen tips on this forum on how to turn up the ringer volume. Is there not a way to make the microphone more sensitive? I really want to avoid replacing the phone again because getting my data off the current phone and onto the new one is painful beyond belief, even with BitPim.

What is the deal with this phone? I went into the Circuit City at the Gateway Center in Brooklyn and they didn't have the a670 on display. When I asked to see the phone because I was interested in purchasing it w/o a contract because my current phone is giving me problems (LG VX4600) she didn't have any. I asked her if it was going to be replaced and she has no idea. She told they haven't received a shipment of them in a while. Any information would be greatly appreciated?

whenever my A670 recieves a text message, it always beeps/rings. i know there must be some way to turn this off, but i'm not quite sure where the option is... help appreciated.

I was wondering if both of these work because my signal isn't all that great around my house. It varies from time to time 0-3 bars the most around my area... and yeah 50 bucks just for a bluetooth is a big pricy but it comes in handy. I lost my other earpiece which sucks because this phone gets kinda hot when you hold it or talk on the phone pretty long.

So yeah if anybody tried the bluetooth or the signal boost a girl over here is in some definite need of better signal.

Weird thing just happened yesterday.My wife and I landed in denver for vacation. I turned my phone on and like 1 hour later got a text message. I replied...and never paid attention to anything else after that. When we got to our destination. I noticed that I had no signal. I figured I was in a dead zone but my wife (who has the same phone) had a full signal. We went for a drive today. I figured my phone would eventually pick up a signal, but no dice, yet my wife had full bars almost the whole time.

I called verizon. they are not sure either. they had me try and manually program the phone, but that didnt work. they asked me to bring it to a shop nearby though its not a verizon specific shop they thought it might help.

Some of you have frequently asked how to upload ring tones to your cell phone successfully. I've finally figured out a way. Follow these few steps
carefully.

1. Get the ring tone you want and save it on your computer.

2. The ring tone can only be in one format to work so u either have to encode it or convert it to a wav. or wave. file. You can do this through many different programs for free. I have nero audio file encoder and thats what I used.

3. Set up a vzwpix account @ www.vzwpix.com. This is free.

4. Go to the upload section and upload your files u can do up to 5 at a time. 75 saved files in total 😁 l.

5. After uploading it as a wav. or wave. file, move it to an inbox folder. Then send it to your self at create ...

Sorry to revive an old thread thats been up for about 8 months but ive been seeing that people have been wasting thier money on ringtones from websites.. I found a way to get free ringtones.. here it is.. if any problems occur.. let me know annd ill be glad to help you out..



for the A670, you dont have to spend money for ringtones. just a mere 10 cents for sending a pic message. here's how u do it. first create a voice memo that is around 30 secs long. if you listen to your voice memo, it sounds soft but dont worry, it wont turn out that way. next take a picture of anything u like. it doesnt really matter unless u wanna save that too. send a pic message to yourself with the voice memo that you recorded, you should be able to reciev...

So i have this wierd thing on my phone ... ive had it for a week and i gave up with it.. wondering if anyone has ever expierenced this problem before.. Everything is crossed out.. it has a Red Line through everything.. "Messages, Contacts.. (all my contacts included), all my texts, even on the Main Display at the bottom where it blinks the Time and Verizon Wireless there is a red line that runs through the middle of it.. i wish i could take a picture of it cause it seems so rare. dont kno how this happened.. i believe it was due to one of my friends from Tmobile service sending me an EMS.. and i kept trying to open it and it would keep on freezing on me till it finally opened and this occured.. then i just deleted the EMS and the problem sti...

Last night my a-670 was stolen with all of my names and numbers in it. When I call up insurance, what phone are they going to replace it with? It better not be the Audiovox 8910 because that phone is a piece of garbage. Thanks for any help you can give me. YOu don't think they'd replace it with the LG VX 5100 do you or the 7000? I mean they do say a "comparable" phone but I have no idea what that means to them.

I haven't seen any posts for this phone yet about it being taken off the market. Its actually not being taken off the market but there not giving any more out. I work for Asurion Insurance and currently right now and in the past few weeks any claim that is filed for the 670 is being replaced by the Audivox8910. I'm not exactly sure why it is being replaced something with samsung and verizon. I know that sometimes customers can go in and buy a 670 but its just verizon trying to get rid of there stock but were not allowed to send out and 670 and trust me ppl like there 670's way too much.

PS There is also one other phone being replaced through Verizon the LG 6100 is being switched with the Mot 276

The keypad and screen will occasionally light up without anyone touching the phone. It stays lit for about 30 seconds,then goes off. This is happening to 2 friends and verizon has no answers. Anyone out there with some ideas on why this is happening and how to get it to stop?

Has someone put mp3 or midi ringtones on this phone with qspt? Bitpim? What directory do you put them in? I tried Bitpim, but i get an error message, and something about qpv.exe? What do I do?

Can I assign a different ringer/ringtone to different phone numbers with this phone?


Also, does this phone support real audio tones or just polyphonic?
