Motorola V551 / V330 / V547 / V555 / V557

I've received conflicting information about whether I need to do anything with my V551 (cingular) prior to my trip to Italy for it to work there...

Do I need to install a card, or since it's quad-band it's ready to go?

My wife and I are going to Italy in July, and we're leaving a disabled son at home with some caregivers. Being able to be reached is pretty important.

Is there an Orange E or did I miss read a previous post? But if there is two E's which does it matter if any?

Has anyone else had the problem of receiving only the header info on an email but not the actual text body? I have the phone set up to pick up my "regular" email account messages. Even when I tried increasing the max email size option, it still picked up only the header info (apparantly). Is the phone picking up the body but for some reason not able to display it? Or is there some other setup issue to deal with? Should I give it up and spring for a blackberry?
These are small one or two sentence emails, no graphics etc. All I want to do is be able to check my regular emails when I'm away from home.

I just got the new 551 replacement. IT has a Blue E where the old satalite icon was and under it there are two bars one is Grenn and the other is red? Should they both be Green? What do they mean? Also I read somewhere on here that The Blue E meant you were pathced through the ATT system for data info when online?? I guess I should have taken the manual out of the box but I didn't think . plus Cingular instucted me to only use the phone and not take anything else. IS there a manual online somewhere?

I have another question. CAN ANYONE tell me what it means to LOCK a text message? 🙄 I don't see this feature explained in the manual, and I'd like to know what the purpose of this feature is. Does this mean you can't delete the message?? HELP PLEASE!!!! Thanks.

Alright, I can't figure this out. I want to put a full length 3 to 4 minute music video on my phone. I use QuickTime Pro to export my videos into the 3gp format. I have been playing around witht he fps and the sound but every time, after I convert it and then transfer it to my phone there is never any sound output on my phone. But the visual is great. What are the proper settings to be able to have the best vdeo with the sound? Thanks a lot!

Hello, I went to a store yesterday and I had my first encounter with the Motorola V551. It was soo neat. I wanted to know a few things. First, does it make a noise when you take a picture? If so, could it be disabled? Also, does it have camera effects like the LG L1400 or the Motorola V220? Thats all, thanks! 🙂

I have the Motorola V551 and my external screen looks like there is ink in it, the caller ID is doesnt show up, what do I do?

Not that many wallpapers but thats why we have T-Zones

Does anyone know which phone this is? Like the one for Cingular (V551) or the older T-Mobile version (V300)? (i.e. The blue and silver body or the all blue body)

I was reading the part of the manual that tells you about charging your phone it says you can leave the travel charger connected to your phone even if it says charging complete it will not harm your battery. Does this mean I can leave it charging over nite without me overcharging the battery?Thanks!

I ruined 3 v551 by using the external antenna jack. After using it the phones suddenly stopped getting any signal. 👿
Went back to my Nokia 6340i and it works fine on external antenna. 🙂

ok now this kid kicked me and the front lcd screen is broken! WAT DO I DO?!?!?!

Ok so I sync my phone and it included outlook express contcts , which I don't want. So i deleted but I guess it deleted them from outlook express!!! Why I have no clue, I would think that there would be a copy somewhere. So I need HELP I can't ficgure it out.

I did a system restore to the day before I added Motorlas phone tool and synced. Where would the outlook express contacts be? I need them cause I also have a new laptop on the way and need to transfer over info.
