Samsung SCH-A970

Does anyone have any idea if this phone will have a good player (e815) or a crippled one(vx8100)??

Rumors about a Sprint version of this phone are correct. It's the A940. It looks exactly the same, except for a slightly restyled keypad, and three buttons on the outside instead of four. Other than that... pretty much the same phone.

verizon is now out of the samsung sch-a890 witch means they dont have any samsung with ev-do 😁 verizon wont keep it like that for long we will see it in the next 30 days

I've seen a bunch of responses about a DUN #777 and it allows internet access, but how , is it free , how much does it cost , I use to have a Sanyo MM-5600 but lost it at the mall along with my purse , Sprint sent me a Samsung A800 because the Sanyo was out of stock , let me just say that this phone is amazing , its so cute and pretty and sexy , but enough about me...Just Kidding ! But if anyone can teach me or help me in my predicament I would greatly appriciate it considering everyone here on this website is very educated in cellular phones and services. Thanks in advanced.

"the 940 (Giant) will have Bluetooth, but Speakerphone is not showing on the feature list (of course it didn’t show on the list for the a880 either, but that phone has it, so it is possible that the 940 might as well.)

Can anyone explain a little more about the A940... Is it or isn't it comming out for sprint pcs? If it isn't because of the Bluetooth issue, wouldn't it just be delayed. Why does Samsung have a manual, and why has the FCC already approved the Samsung A940? I'm new to the process of phones hitting the US, and was really set on this phone (A940) comming out. I need a new phone. Does anyone know of a similar choice, if this doesn't come out. Does anyone know about any other modles comming out?

If you currently have any Samsung phone with Verizon, could you go to the VZW website and open the owner's manual for your current phone?

Then, can you replace your phone model with the SCH-A970 in the URL address?

If you play around with this, you might be able to find the 970 manual on Verizon's website.

This will also give us an indication of how close they are to releasing the phone.

I would research it myself, but I don't have a Samsung phone now and I have no link to the URL.

This thread (for the 970) is just starting out. I would guess those that are already contributing to this thread have a somewhat interest in this new phone. However, having just purchased and returned an 8100 - and being part of the havoc that has taken place on the 8100 and 815 forums (where everyone was bashing each other) - I am hoping that from the get-go we can cut out the sarcasm and have meaningful discussions prior to and after the release of this phone. After all, I would think the focal point would be to learn as much as possible about this phone and determine its viable use for each of us.

Does this phone offer video calling? Does Verizon have any phones capable of video calling? Thanks.

I was wondering how the picture shows up after it is taken, because you have to face the screen horizontally to take pictures. Will the pictures be saved horizontally or saved like a normal picture on a camera phone, also will you be able to set pics as you're background?

Now, I think this is a first. An EV-DO phone with AMPS! Is this not strange to any of you? This is good where I live but this is the first one like this I have seen!
