When is this thing gonna be on the Verizon Wireless Website, or in Verizon Wireless-Authorized Dealer stores?

just wanted some advice,stopped at best buy today and half to admit was impressed..so now i wantto get the phone,,should sell my vx8100 now...i looked to upgrade my phone on verizon, do they charge you as part of your next bill or immedietly. [came over from at=t aka cingular and they charged you on your next bill]just curious how any of you would go about it...thanks ahead of time,

Has anyone actually had this phone and used it for awhile? What guarantees, if VZW is using the same software for all phones, that this or any phone won't have the same problems as the 8100. They screwed with the software on the 8100 and look what happened. The update, don't make me laugh. Might have fixed the volume and mp3 problem but messed up the Bluetooth. Either they're friggin' stupid or just don't care. 😲 😲

man i cant find any drivers that work !!! i downloaded the ones from samsungs website, and it doesnt work! anybody have them!

We have been through this before with the 8100 and 815 - I have no doubt it will soon begin again with the 970 and soon-to-be-released 950 (actually, it HAS started again with the 970 - see Roachman's review on this phone).

I am not saying his review is not legit - perhaps it is - but he gave the phone a 2.5 rating barely saying anything. Yes, he did comment about the camera and briefly stated reception was not good - but he only had the phone for one day! I still say that while a camera is nice to have with the phone it should not be the over-riding factor on whether a phone is good or bad - afterall, (I would think) it was bought as a phone first and camera second. When I did a search for A970 on the website, the interactive demo for the phone comes up. It really has to be soon now. I can't wait.

Does anyone know if this phone will actually have real music that you can use for ringtones??? I know it has the transflash memory card for listening to mp3's, but I'm wondering if you can even buy real music through getitnow. I was told by a few people that this phone would not have real music ringtones with words, just those stupid polyphonic beeps and rings. I was hearing that the 970 would be like all the other samsung phones and not do real music for ringtones. I'm questioning this though because the 970 has speakerphone, something samsungs have never had. If anyone knows anything please let me know.

Quick question about ringtones on the phone. I currently own a LG VX8000 and on that I can make my own ringtones and send it to the phone using pix message. My friend recently got the VX8100 and on that phone the ringtones saved from a pix message go to my tones folder which can't be set as a ringtone.

Just wondering if it was the same way on this phone and whether you can set MP3's as ringtones and if they can be transfered through the mini sd card. Thanks for the help.

I went to my local Best Buy and they said the A970 would be 349.00 (no rebate) and this includes my 100 new every 2 discount. Went over to Circuit City and they are not selling it yet. But, the salesperson at Circuit City said they would be selling it very soon and the price would be 199.00 with my new every 2 discount (349 - 100 NE2 - 50 Mail In Rebate). That is a huge 150.00 difference!

Plus, still not sure this phone is worth 200 more than the VX8100, which is free now with 100 discount and 50 rebate...

Right off the bat Im going to tell you guys this new thread is the only one you need. Trust me. First bought the lg liked the feel it felt real solid didnt like the leather case though for it , one side always seemed to slide off, very minor problem there. biggest problem was reception on this phone dropped many calls in one day say 5 calls where as I didnt drop any before with the old samsung 670. I drive for a living and travel the same route everyday so I really put these phone thru a good reception test.So that blew that phone out of the water, why else do you buy a phone, so it works as a phone not a toy...Went and traded in lg for moto phone felt okay wasnt very solid as lg as in hinge wise. but reception on this phone is great, way b...

Any ideas anyone? I've been reading about this phone every since August. I've been waiting and waiting and waiting. Finally I registered today to put this thread up. I'm not willing to go to BestBuys...to get this phone. I'm sure it will be cheaper or a little bit..cheaper when it hits the Verizon Stores. Any of you out there have ANY IDEA? I work in the field (outdoors) all day and expose my phone to some out of the ordinary abuse. I've always been a loyal customer of Motorola ever since the Star Tac. However I did try the Nokia 8290? I tried out this phone at Best Buy in NH......It's nice, but way too much money for what it delivers.... ☹️ Bummer, I looking forward to seeing this phone.

And will someone PLEASE tell Verizon to give us more access to at least get rid of, or change colors to that UGLY red bar!!!

I just spoke a 30 word text message into the phone and it got 29 perfect and one just missed the S at the end of the word.. You have to teach it for about 122 words and then it knows you very well..

I am looking to switch from Cingular to VW and would like anybody's honest opinion about the new digital camcorder phone by Samsung. Is this as good of a phone as it appears to be? Thank you, your comments are appreciated.

I went to the local Best Buy (Sacramento) and they didn't have it. I went by the local Verizon store, and the dude there said Best Buy is the only place that will sell the phone. The store has only been open for a month, and the people who work there seem to be pretty clueless. In fact, it gets annoying because they seem to know little about what their company sells, or will sell, nor do they seem to know much about what their competitors sell. At any rate, do any of you know if phones purchased at Best Buy are eligable for the new every 2 voucher?

As the title reads but however i cannot use the new every two in bestbuy, and there deal is just the retail up here for 349 on an upgrade. 499 full retail.
