Samsung SCH-A970

I have the Moto 815. It is my third one! I took back the other two because of the AWFUL echo the person at the other end of the line gets when they talk to me. Verizon has no idea how to fix it. They just give me a new phone each time I go back to them and complain. Other than the echo problem with the 815, it works great; good reception, camera video, menus, battery, etc. There is no echo with the wired ear piece or just the handset alone. I often need the speaker feature and thus need to make a change. Is the Sammy 970 worth the money and will it deliver all that the Moto does minus the nasty echo? Thanks for the input everyone.

Is the only way to transfer a max resolution (1600 x 1200) photo from phone to PC by physically removing the transflash card from the phone? I tried sending a photo through Verizon's service, but the largest resolution supported is 1280 x 960.

I am concerned about taking the Transflash card in and out of the phone every time I want to save a photo to my PC.

has anyone noticed how loud the voice commands are?....I know there is a volume setting for the names it says....but not the actual speech.......

I wanted to get a wallpaper on my A970, what i mean when i take a photo or just use any pic from the internet, try to use it as wallpaper it has a dark black line on top and on bottom, is there any way i can use it as full screen or as tile not just only center. on the outside lcd has a small blak line on top only. any help- please greatly apprc. ☹️

Are there any OBEX hacks or such to remove any of the limitations of this phone? I am due for an upgrade next week, and already have the USB drivers and software off of samsungs website. Just wanted to know what can be done with this phone, and if there are any good websites covering the topic.

On my LG VX-6100 I was able to picture message myself ringtones. I am able to do that on the 970 but I can't set them as ringtones. Does anybody know how to fix this problem?

I am nearing the end of my present VZW contract and have recently gotten an Infiniti M35. I am looking for a phone which will fully connect with the car. The VZW chart for the A970 has, from the time it has been up, listed the Bluetooth compatibility with the Infiniti as "Pending". If you are looking for a place to test it I will volunteer my car. (How long does it take to complete these tests and get your document updated?)

I also would be happy to do the same for the about-to-be released phones, the Nokia 6256i and Moto V3c RAZR. Just respond to this post.

With the A970 can you transfer pictures from the tranflash card on to your PC using a card reader like you can with the Moto V710 & E815?

Just bought this phone. I've noticed my old phone (ancient actually) gets about two bars higher than this expenisve phone. Anyone else have this problem? Should I return it for another?

Funny, I also tried to save a voice memo as a ring tone and was shocked when I couldn't do that. The default ringtones are HORRIBLE!

I sell Cadillac's and some of them have an input for Auxilary audio and I was wondering if I can plug a 970 in the input and use the 970 as a MP3 player to play through the speakers.

playing mp3 files with vx8100 and a950 was very easy but a970 seems little different. it doesn't have "card format" so i decided to add mp3 files into my transflash but the phone is not reading it!!!! 👿 let me know how this thing works guys. thanks

I have a 950 and a 970, when I put all my MP3's on my transflash card it works beautifully in my 950 but when I take the same card and put it into my 970 it says "no Mp3s found on card"

Any help on how to get the mp3s working on both would be appreciated, or even a reason why they wont work.

when i had my lg8000 even if i put a 128k bitrate mp3 on my mini sd card the phone would only play it at 64k?? is this the same for the 970???

ps-anyone get their PC to recognize the 970 via USB???? i wany to transfer files to it via bitpim. thnks

How much memory is built into the phone and how much memory can you buy for the phone?

Does the 970 have the incoming call alert that the LG8100 has? ie..Call from 313-333-3333????

Couple Questions...
1. How difficult is it to format the SD card to keep music and stuff?
2. Hows the Speakerphone? Can you really use it with the clamshell shut?
3. Can you really not make mp3 ringers? (its easy on the 710) has anyone figured the hack?

I was wondering about the video quality for this phone...
I heard it's 170 something pixel resolution with 10 FPS. Is that TRUE?
I hope not!! I mean, if that's a case, I wouldn't buy this phone. ☹️

And does anybody has any idea of price drop?
Do you guys think the price will be drop for little bit, for somehow, in Christmas season? (that's what I'm hoping for.)

Another question.
I'm using another phone in Verizon and I've used it for about a year and a month.(I had 2 year contact whenever I was buying my phone) If I want to change my phone to A970 now, how much do I have to pay? $399? $350?? PLZ somebody help me out, hopefully. 😁

Anybody have trouble with blurry photos and video? I used a 970 today and it acts like the auto focus is not working. Most pictures are blurry. It goes into focus on the viewing screen and then quickly out of focus and will not go back to clear. Then it takes the picture. There seems to be no way to make it focus properly. Weird!

How is reception? The last Samsung I had was horrible. Kept losing calls. What about BT? Cleear or Static? Need to get a phone today.

With the camera pics I have seen, which are very good for a camera phone. How does the video quality hold up? Is it the same as other "video" phones (pretty crappy), or have they actually upgraded the quality?

Any reviews or responses regarding this would be helpful, thanks!
