Samsung SCH-A970

What do you all think? A950 has such a better price I want the one thats going to be most convenent..small, easy to use, ect. I know the A950 is just a little bit smaller. Overall what do you all think about the two phones?? 😕

You state what a great phone it is but never do you mention one thing about it being a phone, i.e. - you admit it's a phone first and camera 2nd (which is what it should be) - but you don't state anything about the reception - about the speakerphone and earphone (loudness and clarity) - the battery - the menus - it's bluetooth capabilities - and how clarity and loudness for the person you are speaking to. Can you elaborate?

Has anyone tried to set up a recurring event, either daily,weekly or monthly? I have tried, and when I go to calendar for the next scheduled time of the same event, it says no event. It does this on dailyweekly, and yearly events. I called Samsung, and the rep there tried it on his phone and got same results. Told me to call back Monday,and ask for leve 2 support. Seems we may have a shortcoming on the phone. Has anyone been able to get it to work correctly? BTW the check the software version, and I am current.

Phone spec (https://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php? p=724) indicates no, but was wondering if anyone knew of a hack. May be my deciding factor between this, the Moto E815, and LG VX-9800.

i heard a rumor can't rember where or when now but a new phone was coming out for verizon wireless, that you could hand write messages?? any one heard of it?

Also, is there a lesser version of this phone called the A950? not the 850...

I'm thinking about getting the 970 with the Bluetooth ear-piece, and was wondering if I can listen to MP3's on the Bluetooth head piece. Nobody at Best Buy knew the answer.

Just bought this yesterday on the 18th at the local Verizon store. This is just a basic picture takin with factory set settings. This is a sweet new toy. 😎

My contract is up on the 24th of November and I'm debating on which phone I want to go with. Which do you think would be a better phone with the Verizon network? The Samsung 970 or the RAZR? The Sammy has the 2.0MP camera, but the RAZR has the floss factor. Now this is my only phone also.

Does anyone that has the phone know if you can read TXT messages on the front screen just like you can with the 8100??

Was wondering how the reception is on this phone. Is it as good as the E815? Also how is the speaker phone and battery life. Thanks!!

I was thinking about changing my phone to SCH-A970, and I'm wondering if this phone supports the MP3 file ring tones as a customized option.
Do I have to buy some kind of data cable or something? Where can I buy that cable, if I have to? How much would that cable cost?

Anyone have this yet? Talk time differs greatly from description on here and VZW site - 2 hrs. How is BT, volume, reception? 8100 user and looking to change. 😛 😛 😛

I purchased the phone on 10/18, and so far so good. However being new to the MP3 scene, I have a few questions. I also purchased the transflash card for the phone and a Sans Disk 5 in 1 card reader. Do I format the card while in the phone or format it in the card reader? Also, having Windows XP do I need to install the software that came with the reader on my computer first? The enclosed instructions were not to clear to me. Thank you for any help received.

It's on the website. $299.99 or $199.99 if you're eligable for New Every Two. So... same price as LG VX9800. I prefer this one... BUT, is it worth the price?

Hey, the verizon wireless stores got a memo that the new phone will be coming in either the 17th or the 18th. I think it's a safe bet to say that it will be released on the 18th. How great, my billing cycle ends on the 20th, no extra fees 😁

Was wondering how the battery life was on the phone? Also wondered how the reception is? Anyone have any comparison to the E815 reception?

Hey guys I was looking over at the 950 forum and saw that some people can send ringtones to the phone via pix message (like LG VX700 & 8000). Is that true? Why would Verizon allow this on the 950 and not the 970 or 8100?

Can somebody post a link with pictures taken from the 970, I searched HoFo and didnt see any, just want to campare the quality vs. the 8000, thanks in advance.

So the buzz I hear going around is that vzw is comming out with a bluetooht handset that is not crippled. Now I don't know how long I am going to wait after the 970 comes out on 10/18 for a non crippled bluetooth phone.. sigh...what are you going to do?
