UTStarcom PPC-6700 / XV-6700 / HTC Apache

I'm using three pop3 accounts with this phone. They are set to check for new mail every 15 minutes. Only the inbox that is open will automatically check for messages. I can only have one inbox open at a time, which means to check the other two I have to manually go to each one and do a send/receive, which sucks.

Anyone else have this problem?

has anyone known of a successful way to send a text message to an email address. When i type on in(email address) in the text field, it says "the text message account cannot be used to send email messages"....I know someone out there can hack that?!?! I don't have a data package so sending text to email would be really helpful

Hi... I am new to this phone, and I have a few questions about e-mail and updating internet explorer. I want to have my aol email sent directly to my phone.. Is this possible? How? and also when I go to aol.com it say's that my browser needs to be updated.. How do I update Internet explorer.. Also, I want to use AIM.. How do I get that on my phone?

I have my PPC-6700 set up to check for incoming email every 15 minutes. I live in an area where I am roaming to Verizon. Every 15 minutes my phone generates a Data Call Failure error because you can not roam on the internet. I don't want to turn off the check for email every 15 minutes feature because it is so many screens down in the phone. I would be turning it on every morning and off every evening. Is there a way to disable the reporting of that error? Thank you, Bill

Hey can anyone tell me how one is suppose to do a soft reset. The only way I can get mine to turn off or reset is to pull the battery and it is getting to be a pain in the butt. Also has anyone installed magic button or gigabar. Both of these programs work great for about an hour then cause my phone to lock in a either a random program screen or most of the time the phone screen and I can not get them to go away with out pulling the battery. Any help or incite would be great. Thanks all.

Does anyone know how to change/edit the "Send Text Message" number listed in contacts? The number automatically defaults to the contact's cell phone number. I have my phone number blocked automatically, so when I program my contact numbers and want my number revealed I put *82 in front of the number, but that plugs into the text message section. The contacts shows the text message number, but will not allow direct editing. I currently plug the number in the pager section instead to select the number to text to.

Contacted Verizon...and I'm sure we all know how helpless they are about their products.

I just recently purchased the Sprint PPC-6700 and am looking to also purchase a bluetooth headset to go with it. Can anyone give me a recommendation on one that would work or at least models to stay away from.

Also, I have read in some of the previous threads that Microsoft Voice Command will not activate using the Bluetooth headset until you re-initialize the two pieces. Has anyone found a fix for this yet.

I have been reading this forum for about 6 months now, researching what PDA phone to purchase. I just want to thank all of you who submit feedback and fixes for some of the issues that the phone seems to have. per user guide it says that you can charge the phone using a sync cradle if you plug it inyo usb port. I don't have sync software installed on my computer and when I plug in the cradle into the usb and change little plug from sync to charge port nothing happens and phone is not charging. what am I doing wrong?

I've had my PPC-6700 for two weeks now. I was very frustrated by how hard it was to dial the phone especially when I was driving my car.

I just installed Voice Command 1.5. WOW is all I can say. It is by far the best voice dialing I have ever used. So far it has never screwed up a number and almost always gets the right person when I tell it to dial using a name.

All of the other features are nice as well like battery status, ringer level, vibrate, announce appointments, etc.

IF YOU HAVE A 6700 THIS PROGRAM IS A MUST HAVE.

I bought mine at Amazon for $33 and got is shipped for free. That was the best price I could find.

I have installed a free trial version of WorldMate Pro and now I cannot remove it from my phone. I tried to do it by the usual way but when it didn't remove all of the way. Now it is not in the list for me to select to remove again I was wondering if anyone could help me.

when it says this phone has wifi does it mean i can connect it to my home network and surf the Internet for free. i mean i will not be charged for the time being on the Internet will i?

When I run anything on my 6700, say Explorer, then hit the close/okay button at the top right to 'close' it, the program goes away but in reality it's still running. If I go to my Running Programs towards the end of the day I can see a history of everything I did, Notes, Contacts, Explorer, etc. The problem is, they are all still running, consuming memory and CPU cycles (presumably, although I'm sure not a ton as they are in idle states). How can I close/exit various applications for real, so they are completely closed/stopped? And finally, how can I task Switch (Alt-Tab on regular Windows) between all the running apps? Any ideas?

I would like to back up my contact list to my PC. I do NOT want to synchronize it I really want a backup. Do all the contact names, phone numbers, email addresses and etc., exist in one file? Is it possible to drag and drop it to the PC? If so what is the file name and what folder is it in on the phone?

How do I escape out of a window, especially a settings windows, without saving the changes I have made? It appears that OK is your only option. Suppose I don't want the changes I have made and cannot remember what was there before I screwed it up?

Can someone tell me how to get rid of the task screen when I dial a number. For some odd reason, my task screen pops up when I dial a number and it's becoming annoying. I've checked the settings but there's nothing there.

A few days ago I out a few episodes of ATHF on my 6700. It worked flawlessly... After I watched them at work I deleted the files to make room for some new ones. Today I downloaded a few more episodes, all of which are almost exatcly the same size as the last. When I try to sync up and put these new files on my Storage card, it says there's not enough room on disk... except that I have 350.90 Mb left, and the file is only 115.20 Mb... Can anyone explain what the problem could be? Also, I then used 'PocketDivX' to shrink the files down. I tried putting just ONE of them on that was 39.20 Mb, but it said the same thing... 'There is not enough room on disk...' HELP ME!!

Unable to install PHM RegEdit. The only version I found is 0.70

Does this version support Mobile 5.0?

It tells me it installs but doesn't show up in program list. Nor can I find it anywhere?
