Is it possible to get the conversation form of text message like the 600 and 650 had???

I have had the 700 for about a week and I found a new screen I'm not sure what it does. "Location Privacy" has two settings.
1. "911 only"
2. "Your location can be brodcast"
What does this do and if it is a g.p.s. system how can I access it on another computer.

I have read that you can't put mp3s on the phone because of the Microsoft/Verizon music deal. Is this true??? Microsoft wants to make sure they get their cut so no more mp3 are being allowed to be transfered to Verizon phones that have the most current software version...

I'm only asking because I'm probably going to be buying the phone on Tuesday and just want to know what I'll be getting into... I was hoping to assign mp3 ringtones to certain contacts... I got used to it with my current phone.

Does anyone know if there is a version of AIM that works with the 700W?

Both my friend and I have just purchased the 700w and we are both experiencing the same issue pertaining to call waiting. It seems that if when we end an incoming call and return to the original call, even though we can hear that the 2nd caller has hung up, it still displays on the screen as "on hold" and the call time continues. I have spoken to both Verizon and Palm to determine if this could in any way affect the minutes, and neither were able to answer. I am just curious if anyone else is encountering this issue. And if so, is there a way to assure the second call is terminated and have it dropped off of the display?

Is anyone having trouble getting downloads for the Treo 700w. I can't find a MP3 that is supported. I had a Pocket Music that worked but then had to do a hard reset to fix the stupid sync issues. now i try to download it and i get an error saying the product is not a pocket PC application. What version of Pocket Music works.

Also the PDF viewer is not working.

Is my 700w freaked up or is everyone having these problems?

Still considering the return for a 650, the days are ticking till my 15 day free look is up.

I really got use to the Mobile Web 2.0 and its quick links to convient things like checking your account info on verizon. Does anyone know the link to mobile web 2.0 so I can access it on my 700w?

I just got the 700 yesterday. I turned in my LG V9800.

I am looking to download AOL Instant messenger on the 700 because my 30 person office uses it all day long.

So does anyone know the best way to go about doing this - preferably - FREE?

I went to aim.com. Found the "for PDA" version, but with the windows mobile 5.0 - I couldn't see that it was supported - so I thought Id post here for some help.

Is there any way to automatically add your home area code to phone numbers without one? My old 600 had that option and because of that, Im having to go through all of my numbers and manually add a damn area codes - help...

I'm thinking about switching to VZ and getting the Treo 700 ($399) with the data plan and 2 yrs. I went to checked out this afternoon and I was very impress with the phone- Apps, reception and broadband speed very fast. I was going to get it today, but they ran out, so I supposed to pick up mine tomorrow. But I've been reading the forum and I got mix reviews thus I'm wondering now.

#1 - I asked the VZ agent if I decide to downgrade to a regular minutes plan - He said "you could but I don't recommend it casue this phone will always try to communicate w/ the tower and get broadband acces thus making your phone bill $$$ Is this true? Can I turn off the signal for Broadband only?

I currently have a reg cellphone & i have tmobile for the data service because of the good technology they have for the aim service and what not. I bought the treo 650 to test it out, and any version of aim i downloaded sucked required payment for after the trial period and didnt do nearly as close as the AIM does on the Sidekick.

Does the change to windows from palm mean that their is a solid good strong connection with aim? And how is the battery life? Is it better then the treo 650? I hadda get rid of the 650 after 7 days because it was so ahrd to type and aim wasnt stable nor was the OS on the device.

Do not use the wireless sync software. Uninstall it. Delete it. Forget about it. It does not work and is not a palm or windows software, its from verizon.

Use Exchange Active Sync for your exchange server. Open up active sync on the phone and click on menu and add it in there. It does "push" and realtime update if you add your phones email address in (#@vzw3g.com) and soon M$ will have a patch for exchange 2003 server that will not need that.

It works, works good, and its tried and tested with no errors here on several servers.

I've managed to add my personal ring tones and they are working great for phone calls. I went into the Sounds and Notifications and under Notifications I went to "Messaging: New text message" and Messaging: New e-mail message" checked the box for play sound and put my custom ring tone in. Under the Sounds tab I have the "Programs" box checked and the sub-box "Notifications (alarms, reminders) checked as well. But when I get a text message I get no sound, any help would be appreciated. Where is the best place to download ring tones for the 700W? I had the E815 and used to download from Modtones.

how do i get the videos i download from the internet or from my computer to work with windows media player 10.... every video i try to load says that the file is not recognized and to open the program that it should be opened with and open it from there. or something to that effect.

sync...syncxpress...active sync. What is this. I was folling around with the phone and started this program..what does it do?

I have already synced my phone with my outlook on my computer no problem (once i figured out to turn off my firewall) and I have set up a gmail pop2 account to go to my phone but it only checks every 15 min (or what ever you set it to) Is activsync some kind of push email, or push for contacts and appointments. If so do i need to set this up some how. I have a feeling i'm missing something big here and feel stupid..thanks for the help

My Treo has at least once gone totally dead while just sitting in sleep mode. I had to remove the battery and hit the reset button to wake it back up. I went to Verizon and a manager there says his does that all the time.

This had nothing to do with media use (I have yet to even try anything but the basics) or even applications since the device was completely dormant at the time. Far as I know, the memory was not outrageously full (68%?). I have several utilities installed, but nothing that seems like a memory hog.

Any thoughts? SoarerTT, you seem to be the expert...

I'm hearing about problems with memory on media intense files. I know the phone has Windows Media 10. Has anyone had problems using this phone to watch videos? For those in the know will there be enough RAM to run the upcoming Sling Media player for smart phones?
