Palm Treo 700w / 700wx
Anybody have frequent failure of process GWES.exe?
Short Lived Glory of Verizon and the Treo 700w!
Does VerizonWireless charge you double for Data?
When I purchased this phone I was looking for something to keep me organized, good calendar of appointments, good contacts list, to do list, etc. I don't really need the Internet service as I have a computer close to me at all times. When I purchased the phone the rep told me "You have to purchase the unlimited data plan ($44.95 per mo. + your reg. calling plan) otherwise your phone will not work". He specifically said... can't have the phone w/o the Data unlimited data plan". I said OK, and immediately after I had the phone in my hands I called customer service and they changed my plan to the "pay as you go". ...

VNC
Also, can u use it to get online from the treo with only using minutes? I have a Motorola e815 amd I currently use it to connect vnc to my laptop. I am thinking about upgrading, but wanted to know about these possibilities.
Thanks
Price drops on 700w's - anyone know when?
Anyone have any insight here? If the price will drop say $100, if so how long etc?
Thanks!
CAN THIS BE USED FOR SPRINT
Wait and See
The big downside to the combination PDA-cell market is that there isn't really a good way to go right now if you're looking for a solid, reliable and functional device. Until Blackberry finishes its legal issues and the i-paqs come down in price, the Treo seems to be the only real option left. Hopefully Palm's newest model can fill the void.
The bottom line? If you're looking for a combo device, wait a couple of months if it's at all possible. By the time th...

Has anyone had a rough time getting the phone to sync with Outlook right out of the box?
I just got my Treo 700w yesterday and thought, great, it runs Outlook and my PC runs Outlook, everything should be compatible and work so smooth. Boy was I wrong.
My Outlook on my home PC is set up with an Exchange server account for my work which I only connect to when my VPN connection is up and I only store my email there. All of my contacts and notes are in the local folder on my C: drive. So the ActiveSync software is supposed to give you the option of whether or not to sync with the Exchange server or not so I installed the software and connected the phone and it just would not go. Even though when prompted, I did not check the box to sync with Exchange since my VPN connection was not up and I only wanted to sync my co...

Ringer Volume
Doesn't do much good if you have to turn it up to hear it ringing each time (when you don't know it's rining). The ringer WORKS ok, just hard to hear, partially because what I see to be a design flaw in that the speaker is on the back of the phone, and when it's laying on the desk, it's covered up.
Suggestions??
A few words to 700 owners...
The main problem we have is activesync 4.1, if you plug the phone into your PC without installing the CD first, you will be in trouble.
This phone is not designed to be a multimedia handheld. This is a business phone made for the corporate enviroment to take over the Blackberry market. Do not rant or complain if it locks up on you doing multimedia intensive tasks, the phone was not designed for it. The screen size was not made 32...

Can someone PLEASE clarify email issues for me??
For starters ... I do have an Exchange account at work, but it requires accessing via HTTP settings in Outlook 2003, so I'm assuming I can't do that on the Treo.
I loaded WirelessSync from Verizon, and set it up to access one of my pop accounts, and it seems to work fine.
I then went into Messaging to set up an additional POP account, and it works fine as well.
1st question: Is the 2nd account which was set up via messaging using WirelessSync?? Or just the normal Windows stuff (bottom line .. do I really need WirelessSync at all)????
2nd question: I went into MSN options to access Messenger the other da...
