Samsung SCH-A990

I went to mobile17 and converted a music file. The file they returned to me is a "qcp". I can install on my memory card but it doesn't show up when I try to use it as a ringtone. Any ideas?

CAN YOU EMAIL THE RINGERS AND SET THEM AS CONTACTS AND ALERTS??? AND HOWS THE FRONT LCD, IS THE PIC QUALITY GOOD, IS IT DIM LIKE THE A970???

Can you use the Navigator with the phone closed and have the screen flipped around as if you were going to take a picture? thanks in advance.

Do you have to buy special headphones to listen to the mp3 player? I noticed that the headphone jack is not a normal audio plug (like on headphones or ipod). Any suggestions?!

I've gotten a lot of help from this site, but I'm still not getting music to play on my a990. I've converted my files to .wma and put them on my microSD card in the "my music" folder. The songs show up on the phone and it shows that it is playing them... but there is either no sound or a kind of static. Any suggestions?

Does the A990 have a true 2 way speakerphone, is it Full-duplex and office quality?

when the phone is in "speaker phone" mode, and you close the flip. Take a look at the bottom left corner of the front screen. Do you see a little blue line with a sort of arrow pointing towards the right?or is it just my phone

this happens ONLY in speakerphone mode

OK, I know Samsung is still making new SCH-a models, but what will happen when they ran out of those models (not the phones the model number). Are they going to SCH-a1000? or are they going to make new model numbers?
I know that its going to be a long time before the model lineup finishes because they haven't mentioned the SCH-a980 (if they going to make it).
Any additional info??

Can anyone tell me how to make the sound that plays after you miss a call go away?

I recently received the Samsung A990 after much anticipation however i am disappointed to notice the poor battery life i am experiencing (despite its promised 4 hour talk time etc). Even after making few phone calls and text messages (and very little camera use) the battery life immediately decreases.

I'd like to know- Has anyone else experienced this issue?
If not- what is the best way to resolve it? By buying a new $40 battery (the extended one doesnt interest me bec of its size) or making a $50 insurance claim?

FYI - with the phone closed, if you press and hold the outside red button (the one for taking pictures), the flash lights up and stays on for about 15 seconds.

I thought that was neat.

I read somewhere that there are third party Java-based BREW games that can be loaded to this phone. Anyone doing that? How does it work? Are there good games available?

I read in the manual for the a990 that it is a digital only phone. Has anyone had any problems with coverage because of this? Does this phone really not work on analog only networks? I do go some places where I don't pick up a digital signal with my current verizon phone and would hate to be stuck with no phone.

I just got the phone and took some pix and flix..and i am planning to buy a transflash card soon with USB adapter since i don't have a memory slot on my laptop.
I was wondering if i get the memory card i can transfer the files i already took to the memory card directly..or do i have to have a separate USB cable for this??
I don't wanna buy the cable for just that..

I've noticed that the earphone plug is thinnner than regular earphone..can I buy them at stores like bestbuy or are they only sold at verizon store?
