Good Luck
If you want to drop 6Hundo, do it! I am not going to write anything about the iPHONE, Love the iPod. But from what I know from the plans you have to have with AT&T for this phone and the lack of insurance, it is impossible for me to even attempt to step in the store. Which by the way walked by a AT&T store and asked the clerk standing outside "Where is your iPhone" she replied "they suck", "You do not want one"! Enough for me! But seriously read up on the plans before deciding to fork out the dough.
True/False ATT won't sell one unless you're signing up or adding a line??!!!!
I just got off the phone with an ATT rep that told me I cannot buy an iphone if I am an existing customer unless my 2 years is up and I am eligible for a replacement???? WTF, I just signed up with ATT a month ago anticipating the release! Are all these people camped out waiting for a phone aware that they either have to sign a new contract or add another line of service?

How is Speed Dial going to work without any real buttons? or will it even have it? I know under contacts there is a "Favorites" option, but it still isnt the same as just pressing one key. Any insight?

iPhone is a ripoff! BEWARE!
The iPhone hype is so intense right now, I think people will be buying this phone based on hype alone. I mean, is the phone really that great? My duty is to keep you informed regarding details we come across, so the more I read about the iPhone, the less I want it.
At a glance, the device looks fantastic, features sound fun, and there's no doubt this phone is the "it" phone this year. But realistically, would you pay $500-$600 for any other phone? Like many of you, I'm still debating whether to buy an iPhone or not, so I've compiled a list of cons (since the pros are obvious) just to give myself a reality-check come Friday night.
Price/Storage: Probably the biggest reason to wait is the price. The iPhone will retail in stores for $5...

Can we have an unbiased review?
Some people are head over heels for the phone. Others are quite disappointed. Can anyone give a complete list of the cons and pros of the iphone? Be extrememly specific! If something is just ok, spell it out for us. Some reviews give all pros and one small con. Lets just be real: the phone isn't perfect. It may be a beautiful device but it's not perfect. So someone, anyone, everyone; give an unbiased review. If you don't have the phone, don't reply b/c obviously you don't know. Even if you've tested a friend's, that's not good enough. I really want this phone and I've done my research so that I know what not to expect on the phone, but what's missing? What's awesome? A little help here please!!!
Earpiece Volume
Can anyone who owns this phone comment on how loud the earpiece volume is? I have been hearing it is a little low on full volume. Is it hard to hear when making a call in the car?
no camera?
I think I will be sticking with my Nokia N73 for quite a bit longer...

iPhone Wish List
For anyone who actually has the phone: what would make for the "perfect" iphone? Just simply list things like video recording, 3G, etc. I'm still debating whether or not I want this phone. I was really hype about it but all of the conflicting views have me puzzled. So, what is the iphone missing? What would make for the "perfect" iphone? You know, the one they're releasing in October haha
Thanks!

The average review rating of 3.5 is kind of lousy isn't it?
The blackberry curve gets 4.86. I know that they are different devices but why are the reviews for the iphone averaging out so poor?

Can we get comments on the call quality
I am still debating whether or not get the iPhone. No one has really mentioned the quality of the calls. I know with my Sony w810i, the ear piece on high volume is still kinda low whereas my Razor V3xx ear volume is sooo much louder. Also comments on the quality of the sound on the receiving end too.
Would greatly appreciate any info you guys can share on this.

How's the reception?
Anyone been getting dropped calls or bad reception? I currently have a Motorola Q and the reception is terrible around where I live. I've traded my phone in twice to see if was the phone but hasn't changed. How's the iPhone?
Who Cares If...
The iPhone cant send pictures and videos? You'll use up messages (unless you have an unlimited plan) and i may sound like a broken record, but theres email. and you can send emails that include higher resolution pictures and videos. Plus whoever your sending it to can see it on their computer so it will look better. And stop complaining about no 3G, seriously, you think in Apples first phone they can offer EVERYTHING? So stop hating on the phone, its getting really old. 😡

So, what about call quality?
Forgetting the toy aspect of this for a minute, how does it function as a phone?
Both zdnet and engadget are saying call quality is spotty at best. Is it? I haven't seen a single person or thread talk about this as a phone yet.

iPhone is the one to rule them all
1st generation iPhone is unreal. And yes it will only get better & better with future generations....3G, IMs, etc. But props to Apple on such a great 1st gen.
There will be no cating up with it just as no one has caught the iPod.
voice dialing..
as a software update..yes or no?
Thanks 🙂
HATERS!!
No one should even talk crap about this phone. When you have one in your had and you see all the cool things it does in person, you would take your words back.
If this phone was on verizon, sprint, t-mobile or whoever the people who love or work for those companies would be backing this phone 100% you might not want one, but you wouldn't say it was crap. And the price, well what do you expect from apple. If the price was low people wouldn't buy any ipods. If it was $300 why would anyone buy an ipod video??? Think about it.
And how are you going to bring in issues like coverage of a company and how many towers it takes to get a signal to trash the phone?? That makes no sense. Thats like sprint comparing evdo to edge?

really is a good phone
i purchased the iPhone yesterday and it is a good phone. 😁 The Wi-Fi is amazing-the EDGE isn't nearly as bad as everyone thinks. I had the service before this phone and the EDGE service has improved over the past week. Anyone trying to compare it to a Blackberry/PDA is an idiot.
For all those trashing the phone-go into a store and actually play with the demo. While I was there a Verizon rep was in the store looking at it. (i know bc i seen him at the starbucks across the street after with his nametag on) I played with one after I purchased my own. One of their reps did answered alot of questions with people surrounding her like a hawk. Is everyone going to like it-NO. Will other cellphone company employees hate on it-YES that's w...

Is it worth the money? What should be updated on the new version?
I appreciate everyone posting their reviews about the phone. I've been into this phone as soon as I received the news, as everyone else. From what it seems like, it's just a decent device for way too much money. I'm trying to decide whether or not to wait for a while to buy it or the updated version. The one w/a developed calculator, voice dialing, 3G, and whatever else people have said is missing. If the prices drop by years end, which they will, is this phone worth the $599 + tax(or $499 lowered price 8G model)plus $59.99 a month, or should I just wait for the new iphone which I'm sure has already been made or in the early stages of creation? Thanks for your replies!

My views.
I think for the current hype this device will sell well for this weekend as well as for the rest of this year, the problem comes into play, is that there is no insurance on this device but more importantly EDGE, which is a slower data speed consumers, would have problems with downloading a lot of content. I also think within 6-12 months we will see a price drop and then that would attract more customers to buy this, and I think they should also release (which they won’t anytime soon probably) a newer version with HSPA capability on it. If I was AT&T and APPLE I would have at least put HSPA capability on it with backwards compatibility to EDGE but obviously they didn’t choose to because they want to try to get consumers, who aren’t the bright...
