4GB vs. 8GB
I really regret buying the 4GB model already. If you want to put more than one TV show, or any decent number of photos (a few hundred) 4 GB is not enough. ☹️

Finger marks on the screen?
Anyone try one yet and see if the screen gets a lot of finger oil on it? I am thinking about getting one but it's really going to bother me if there are finger marks all over the screen...

Just ordered 2 iphones on apple.com - 2-4 week shipping time! :(
Did anyone else make it through the apple.com ordering process tonight? I did it just a few min. after 6pm PST, and, while each page took awhile to load, I had checked out w/in 10 min. I got 2 8gb but it says 2-4 week shipping. Does anyone have experience w/other apple prods (ipod, etc) w/whether they're realistic estimates?

The iPhone is supposed to be water proof and has the capability to float. Has anyone thrown their's in the water yet to see if this true? Let me know how it works out.

🤣 has no one heard of a slingbox. i can get a 700wx treo from verizon right now. use my slingbox to not only watch streaming digital cable television, access my dvr, and access my entire computer from anywhere in the country. not only that but also use a fast rev. A network. even with the purchase of the slingbox im still hundreds less then the iPhone with ten times the capabilities. so i will stick with this and do all the little things i love like picture mail, play pocket NES and love it for much less. oh and btw still tether it to my laptop if i wanna type faster

AT&T's EDGE Network Faster Today??
Tonight, many forum members here and at other forums have reported that their EDGE network speeds may have been boosted substantially -- with benchmarks around 200kbps (25 Kilobytes/second).
While there had been rumors that AT&T had been working to upgrade their network to boost speeds from a paltry 40kbps (5 Kilobytes/second), we can't be certain if these numbers truly represent actual speed increases or simply faulty benchmark tools.

So if you have Edge can you please do a speed test and post your results and city you are in. To compare nation wide speeds.

Buying the iPhone
There was a post earlier that stated you had to buy the iPhone with a credit card or visa/mc debit card. That is only partialy true. You can buy the iPhone with cash in the store but you have to have a Credit or Debit card to activate it through iTunes.

iPhone Proprietary Sim Card maybe the dealbreaker
iPhone support just told me that the iPhone uses a special sim card that will not fit, or function in any other phone!
As a mobile phone enthusiast on AT&T I have been swapping my sim card between my collection of unlocked phones and enjoying having choices of what phone I want to use.
So If you want an iPhone you either give up the joy and flexibility of being able to buy whatever GSM phone you want, OR, you must buy another 2year contract along with your iPhone so now your wireless phone expenses are doubled.
