Motorola RAZR V3

Love the phone but am seeing some strange behavior. Has anyone run into these:

- If the V3 has been charging and indicates a full charge, I can take it off the charger and put it right back on without doing anything and the battery charge indicator indicates the battery is at only one notch flashing and it looks like it needs a full charge.

- After charging for several days and the phone indicating a full charge while on the charger, I can take the phone off the charger and the battery level will be at 2/3 notches as soon as I take it off the charger and will be blinking. After just an hour or so, it'll be flashing with only one notch left. Turn the phone off and immediately back on and I have 3 full bars and the level is all the wa...

Can't seem to find a way of changing the sound emitted when pressing the smart key, I would like to change the style as the standard setting sounds awful! Any ideas?

I just got the RAZR V3 paired with my MAC PowerBook G4 but when I tried to send files (MP3 or pics) to the phone, I get an error message. Has anyone done this? Also, does anyone have the codes for hooking up the GPRS for internet connection over the phone by BlueTooth? Finally, can I use any MP3 as my ringtone? Thanks for all the great help on this forum.

i looked in the manual online (amazon.com) and it doesn't tell you how to switch modes (from gsm 1800-->800, etc). does the phone do it by itself? thanks in advance

Got the phone from a Cingular store in Northern California today. Took it home, put an AT&T Sim in it, and it worked fine. It's UNLOCKED! That is a fact!

did anyone happen to notice the Best Buy Circular ad from this past sunday advertising the V3 having EDGE?

Think it may be the external mic but not sure.

Took off the locked images on my Razr and freed up memory for other stuff, and lost the annoying Cingular Jack on the external display!

I'm not going to go to the orig moto menu though, I don't mind having the My account function for cingular on the phone, of course if I leave Cingular I can change it then.

Definately was easy to do, etc.

I have a new 2005 Toyota Prius which has Bluetooth. One of the advantages of a car with bluetooth is that you can upload your phone book entries to the car.

Well, I noticed that the RAZR only has one way to upload phone book entries - one at a time.

I love the phone, but it's quite lame for a $500 phone to not have the capability of uploading the entire phonebook at a time.

now that you can get the razr for $289.99 at wirefly (with rebate), has anyone tried getting them to match that price at a cingular store? or will they not match it since you would end up with cingular anyway buying the phone through an online dealer? i currently have cingular, i was thinking of trying this.

Here is what I am trying to do...

I have MPT 3.19e and used to install and hooked up the v3 via USB cable. I am trying to use the internet connection option to setup a GSM-Data dial-up to my ISP. The phone dials and immediately spits out few beeps and nothing.

I've called Moto support, which had me uncheck the "wait for dialtone option" under control panel->phones and modem->modem tab.
Still the same problem. The support guy then tells me I have to have data services enabled from Cingular (my cell service provider)

Now, Data services to Cingular is the mediaNet package that uses GPRS and its not free.

My question is that why can't I use GSM-Data talking to my ISP as an "analog" modem device directly? Is this a restriction ...

Have you guys got in word already by now that T-Mobile will finally get their hands on the MotoV3 Aka Razr. Sucks when Cingular makes a deal with Motorola to be the first carrier for 3 Months to have that phone. Lets see how the V3 Does with TMobile...Cause I've had customers comment on A630 bad reception.

So I made a wonderful discovery yesterday. My store is now able to flash motorola phones and the kit came with a mini-usb to usb cable...which is very similar to my palmpilot's mini-usb cable. So after a hellish day selling dumb people phones (I swear I'm not bitter) I went home and hooked it up to my computer. I was a little suprised when my phone started charging and my computer recognized it as a usb modem....soooo I opened up motorola's mobile phone tools...not sure on the version...and would you know that a nice little V3 showed up on my desktop...this led to much MP3 splicing and forcing to my phone...was also able to move over pictures I had saved from my V400 and they on the most part look fine. I may have missed it in the manual, but I am trying to take a single individual and add several phone numbers under that name. At the present i end up with several individual listings with separate icons to scroll through. Any way to accomplish this task without having the multiple entries show?

My RAZR was working perfectly until last night, when I went to turn it off and charge it. I went to try to turn it on this morning and nothing works (nothing on the display, none of the keys will work). I know it's fully charged because the keypad remains lit. I tried taking the battery out, putting it back in and, immediately when I put the battery back in, the keypad lights up again. But I can't turn it on or "off." I went into the Cingular store and they didnt know a thing and told me to use the Exchange by Mail warranty program. I called up Cingular tech support and they couldn't figure it out either and we tried resetting the phone, by removing the battery for a long time. But it still wouldn't power up . I would hate to have to...

I have the V3 and an MPX220.

there are certain things that I really love about both of these phones and some things I don't.

I am seriously contemplating selling my MINT V3 with flawless performance for what it promises. I can't psychologically go without a backup phone so most likely will replace the V3 with another MPX220.

so, for you V3 LOVERS, any arguments why not to get rid of it?
