Motorola RAZR V3

Any plans for a desktop charger for the Razr?

Is it possible to surf the web with the V3.. or is the Java built into the phone just for games and ****.. if i cant maybe theres a program i can download to my v3.. thanks for the help

I was having a bit of trouble with my wallpaper - although I had put some jpegs on my V3 that were 450x488 pixels and 96kb in size, some smaller jpegs (210x283 36kb) would not work - I would get a message saying that the image was too large. I sometimes got the small preview of the image, but not the main image itself.

This was annoying so I went through the files that worked and failed, and the only difference I could find was to do with their compression:

In Photoshop (or similar) when you save the jpeg, make sure it has Baseline 'Standard' compression rather than Progressive Compression. Also, it helps if you add a '.jpg' extension to the file (if you are using a mac) for the file to be recognised in transfer.

i just got the razr from cingular about 1-2 weeks ago, then dropped (and lost) the battery door. is there anyway i can get a replacement for it? I called motorola, cingular, my store, etc. and everyone seems clueless or their answer is that I need to buy another phone! 😳

i find it rediculous that they would manufacture a phone that you can't even get insurance on, then tell you you can't buy a stupid piece of plastic to cover up the battery. any good cases around until i can figure out what to do with my phone?

1-tough dialing works fine for numbers 1-9; but we can't figure out how to use speed dialing for numbers above 9. We get message that you need to dial the area code and the call won't complete. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I would like to know how I could upgrade my current V3, which got from Cingular, to a fully functional and not Cingular oriented as it currently is. In other words some of the themes, ring tones, im capabilities, etc that are available on the V3’s out of Europe would be a welcomed addition to a already great phone.
Any ideas or pointers?

I have a problem viewing some of jpeg files that i transfered from my PC to the phone. the file is the exact size of the phone display 176 by 220 px. But when i try to view on my phone, it said something like "file is too big to view" but that file is actually smaller than any other file from "detail" menu. Anyone know how to solve this problem or what cause it? thank you 😉

Starting this Sunday, BB will carry the V3. Look for some smokin deals on a new 2 yr. activation. This is a great opprotunity for those who have waited for the price to drop. I guess Cingular's 100 day exclusive is comming to an end.

The catch......it will only be offered in the top 100 BB's in the US. For now anyways.

I've been reviewing the posts here for a few weeks, trying to evaulate all my options. I'm an existing AT&T Wireless customer, but haven't had a contract for about 6 months.

Do I quallify for one of these lower deals from a place like buy.com? They specify "new activation" in the pricing. I'm not interested in keeping my number since I no longer live in Boston. So getting another number isn't a problem.

Would I get a surprise in the form of "No Rebate" at a later date?

About a week ago I was looking for a case for my razr...I didnt like any thing a the local cellular stores or radioshack...I read a post on phonescoop about a company called motophonecases.com ...I went on their site and ordered severa different codi cases for my v3...I found the owner of the company to be very helpful and service oriented with her emails...A rare occurance today on the net...today I received my cases WOW!!!!! the case fits the phone like a second skin keeping its slim profile...the leather is A+++ and does not hide the beauty of the phone while giving it some protection...This case is a great addition to the phone ...you can see how it fits on their website....I hope this is helpful to those who want a case for their v3 ra...

My local Cingular store here in Los Angeles tells me that they are just not moving the V3 and that everybody is waiting for a price adjustment. He thinks it will only come after the launch of the new SE 710A. Does anybody have any inside scoop as to when the price of the phone will drop?

I'm so lost. I'm trying to edit the actual English language on my RAZR but have no clue as to where to begin.

I have the USB cable that came with it but not sure which program to use to edit its language.

Any help would be greaty appreciated! 🙂

Does anyone know that the 1:1 displayed resolution of the picture IDs are? (or it's exact ratio..)

I want to upload jpgs of that resolution to my phone to use as picture IDs to avoid the poor resizing/resampling it does with oversized photos.

I tried photos of 176x132 (same ratio as 640x480 photos) but bottom 2 lines look like a repetition of the top 2 lines.

Does anyone know a way of adding extra fields to the address book to enable the postal address to be attached. OR is there any 3rd party software to use on the V3 to enable you to store postal addresses. This would be a real asset to this great phone

Does anyone know if the Voice Dialing button on the side of the phone is the same button you use for speaking the voice commands assigned to shortcuts? I have setup voice commands for a few of my shortcuts, but when I click the voice dialing button on the side of the phone and speak the command, the phone tells me it doesn't recognize the name. This feature works fine for dialing contacts stored in the phone book, but it won't work for the shortcuts. Has anyone been able to use the feature successfully?

Also, is there anyway to create a voice command for redialing?

I have a question on how the heck it works! I have contacted Cingular/Motorola and no body can help me "it's a new phone and they aren't trained on it yet". This is what I am trying to do.
I have the phone numbers entered in the address book and stored on the phone, not sim.
I have associated a voice name with the entry, for instance "HOME" has a voice command speaking the name "HOME".
I am trying to dial the number but no where in any of the documentation does it describe how to get it to dial out using my voice when the door is closed or open.
